27/04/2026: For our first visit to Le Ch'ti Charivari in Lomme on Sunday, April 26th at lunchtime, we received a warm welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The charcuterie board was beautifully presented and delicious to start. As for the main courses, the fries were excellent, which is rare, and the burger was very good. The smoked salmon salads with toast were generous, and the salad was perfectly seasoned (which isn't always the case in other restaurants). Good value for money. Well done to the chef! We'll be back soon.

26/04/2026: A truly excellent Flemish tavern, both in terms of the food and the service, thanks to the very friendly owners and a top-notch team! The meat is superb, the Maroilles sauce is divine, and the desserts are simply amazing! Be sure to try the margoulette, a fantastic combination of lime and raspberry! I'll definitely be back! The atmosphere was warm and calm, the cuisine very refined for everyone, and passing by daily, the enticing aroma wafting through the street was a delightful testament to the delicious food.

13/04/2026: Absolutely wonderful little brasserie/bistro just down the road from the Centre Place d’Armes in an old building tucked into a newer residential area. Tiny little space filled with antiques wooden tables & a daily chalkboard menu - food was true rustic country cooking - cassoulet, filet de porc with frites & salad - simple but very delicious. Good selection of beers to wash it all down with - Honestly the best meal we had the whole week we were in Valenciennes

I had to call a number (which turned out to be a real estate agency), and they referred me back to the bakery, who didn't seem to know anything about this galette des rois contest. A very strange arrangement. Anyway, I went there twice; they're supposed to call me back... so there you have it... maybe next January...
