13/04/2026: Absolutely wonderful little brasserie/bistro just down the road from the Centre Place d’Armes in an old building tucked into a newer residential area. Tiny little space filled with antiques wooden tables & a daily chalkboard menu - food was true rustic country cooking - cassoulet, filet de porc with frites & salad - simple but very delicious. Good selection of beers to wash it all down with - Honestly the best meal we had the whole week we were in Valenciennes

The cuisine was inventive, flavorful, and refined, the portions were generous, the welcome was friendly, the service attentive and professional, the decor was attractive, understated yet modern, and the price was reasonable. The place does get quite noisy when conversations flow around the larger tables, but this didn't spoil our pleasant discovery. We hope to return as soon as possible to enjoy the terrace. Food lovers, be sure to book ahead; the place seems to be a victim of its own success!

27/05/2026: Today I ordered an "Ultra Box Tower Spicy," advertised with a "Large Fries." The only "large" thing I received in this box was a complete rip-off; I'd even go so far as to call it a scam. It's a disgrace to offer such a paltry quantity when the box costs THIRTEEN (yes, 13) EUROS. I took the photo right when I was unpacking it, so I hadn't even started eating yet. The burger was there, with the correct number of Wings and the correct number of Crispy Mozzarella, but the amount of fries was just absurd. I don't blame the cashier, who unfortunately can't do anything about it, but perhaps they should have paid more attention in the kitchen. I realize this job can be difficult, but having paid €13, I think I'm within my rights to complain. Honorable mention, there was also a small wrap in the order, which had been forgotten, I realized it before leaving so I was able to claim it.
