15/08/2024: Beautiful and spacious cellar where traditional cuisine is served. It's crowded and noisy, it's actually an underground brewery!
13/08/2024: Magnificent address, warm welcome, lovely decor, the cuisine is excellent. The restaurant was full and yet they pushed the walls to accommodate me. Too bad, I was only passing through, otherwise I would have gone back.

13/09/2024: I've been wanting to come and eat in this famous place for a while... I was actually not disappointed (we came there for my birthday with my husband) As it was a Thursday it was a special "tapas-style" evening "...a little surprised but no regrets since we were able to taste several dishes which were all excellent: spaghetti with parmesan...simple but "deliziosi" as well as the veal with chanterelles etc...only downside was the waitress! ! I can understand that it is not an easy job but a minimum of kindness and respect! We don't go to a table and say: "How are you two?! What are you having next?", or she cuts you off during a conversation etc... Even our neighbors were not satisfied with the waitress 😒 ... fortunately there was the "versatile" sommelier to catch up... who was a very pleasant person by the way (Pauline should take inspiration from her!!) In short... I hope I will have a better experience during a next visit.

13/09/2024: Good little address in Saverne. The restaurant is spacious and there is a terrace for outdoor enthusiasts. I tried the Italian tartare as well as the 4 cheese pasta. I don't regret my choice. The artisanal ice creams for dessert are also great. Staff also smiling and available. See you soon.

26/09/2024: J’ai déjeuné chez Jean et je ne peux que me féliciter d’avoir fait ce choix : un menu du jour à 16 € ,entrée,plat, dessert, copieux et de qualité, servi de plus avec le sourire dans une winstub authentique, voilà de quoi confirmer que Jean a été et reste un bon restaurant !

19/08/2024: We went with my mother-in-law's recommendation to this restaurant. We were very disappointed. We went to eat Alsatian food and we were disappointed because we went with Breton friends. Shame slow service no explanation. The why and how at the end, I said that the least we could do was offer a coffee or a digestive. I was also in the service when a customer complains he's king and it doesn't cost much. A coffee or a digestive should not be overdone! I was answered with an apology and when I repeated it only 4 times we were told "We can offer it to you if you want" except that we were about to leave the restaurant or so go- there when there are no people! Too bad, the dishes weren't bad but for everything else don't go there!

10/06/2024: I was happy to try this "gastronomic" restaurant, but clearly the prices charged are aberrant, the quality ratio is not there.
The setting is tasteless and outdated. With the amounts used, we expect something other than such an ordinary decor.
The dishes were good, but really far from transcendent either! My meat had nerves, the bread was as hard as rusks, the potatoes and vegetables cooked in water tasteless. Unfortunately, there is no salt or pepper at the table to season it all. The quantities were minimal. Once again, with these prices we expect impeccable quality. No one asked us if the meal went well. No drinks menu when we asked.
The pompom: the old boss who admits to making a mistake in an order, who borders on hysteria when the waiter kindly points this out to her, and who sets fire to her and overwhelms her in front of the customers!! Madam, you are surely used to a clientele with an average age of EPHAD residents, but we have heard everything and what you have done is despicable! We only wanted to leave after witnessing this scene.
Disappointed to have spent our hard earned money in this old pigeon den.

17/08/2024: Friendly bar with charming, friendly waitresses. Large crowds on weekends, remember to book. Everything is done for the customer's comfort. I recommend for a drink with friends.

Because of a waitress who was impatient and arrogant with her customers.
The food was very good but difficult to appreciate with such an atmosphere.
Don't even think about asking a question because in addition to judging you, she will give a poor, poorly explained answer.
The icing on the cake was that at the end of the meal, the waitress threatened to find us again.
Completely unacceptable.
However, I wish you good luck in finding a better waitress because with her, you won't go very far.
