12/02/2026: The website photos were lovely, but the food was disappointing – there was no heating in the dining room, we had to wear our coats – the mashed potatoes were cold and reheated – the fish was overcooked – the dessert was okay – the service was attentive – the music was just a constant, moderate drumbeat.

01/02/2026: I went there with a friend; it was raining, so we went back inside to get a chocolate crepe, plus a hot chocolate for me.
It was good, we were well received, no complaints.

25/03/2026: I stayed for two nights last week on an overnight package: dinner, bed, and breakfast.
I had an accessible room, which was quite large, but when you shower, you get water everywhere because there's no shower screen or tray.
At night, the hallway light stays on, and the light shines under the door, so I had to use a towel to block it (see photos).
As for the restaurants, I tried both the fine dining option and the bistro. There was no difference, except for the price. I also ate very well at the bistro. The waiter was friendly.
Breakfast was fine, with fresh pastries and plenty of space.
When booking, ask beforehand if you mind having an accessible room.
There's a paid parking lot in front of the hotel during the day; the adjacent streets are free, but you have to find a spot.
Other than that, I had a good stay.
22/03/2026: 4 stars because breakfast is quite expensive for the limited selection. (We were there at the end of service, so perhaps that explains it.)

Avoid at all costs!
There's a tobacconist just up the road where they'll serve you politely, otherwise it's in Saint-Menoux, a 7-minute drive away.

09/12/2025: We spent one night at the Campanille hotel in Montluçon on our way down to the south of France.
The welcome was friendly, and the rooms were clean.
We had an unpleasant surprise upon departure, as the hotel charged us an additional fee (not much) that wasn't mentioned when we arrived.
The breakfast is plentiful and offers a good selection!
30/11/2025: The welcome was unremarkable, with a speech and extra charges depending on the guest's appearance. The room appeared clean but was cold and had malfunctioning fixtures, particularly the plumbing (shower and sink faucet). There was only one towel per person and a small bath mat, one chair for two people, two tea bags, and one bag of two biscuits for two people. The layout is poorly designed, starting with the entrance door opening onto a second door. There's poor insulation, it overlooks the parking lot, the hand soap is facing the floor, and the bathroom heater doesn't work. The area around the hotel is neglected and poorly maintained. The hotel's location is good. The three-star rating is a sham and therefore misleading given the reality.

16/03/2026: A very disappointing experience at the Brasserie Le Petit Pot in Vichy.
The waiter became extremely familiar after 30 minutes, showing absolutely no politeness or the minimum respect one expects in an establishment that serves the public.
Being greeted with a dismissive "So, young people?" addressed to people over 60, in such an inappropriate tone, is neither amusing nor professional. A little courtesy and basic manners would certainly go a long way.
Reading other reviews, I see that this behavior unfortunately doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. It's a shame, because it completely ruins the experience and makes me not want to return at all. Finally, I should mention that I have 40,000 followers. Sincerely.
13/03/2026: While staying in Vichy on Airbnb, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast at Le Petit Pot. Very reasonably priced and friendly service.

22/09/2024: Came this Sunday September 22 for the first time and last time in this business.
Poorly maintained and dirty places in the majority of spaces. Concerning the traders, the products are very expensive for a fairly poor quality, for example: melons at the end of their life at the entrance to the store, unripe avocados at €2 each, carre d'Aurillac at €22/ Kg (it's shameful) and we have doubts about the fish which had a very strong smell and was surely spoiled.
We obviously do not recommend this place.
10/09/2024: Very beautiful setting, very large, good atmosphere, for food whatever, cold meats, cheese maker, butcher's shop, correct prices. On the other hand, fruits and vegetables in the middle of the season, for example French tomatoes, are overpriced, an aberration so I did without them and went elsewhere "as they say"

21/09/2024: Very friendly welcome and service, with bowl for our dog. Fish of the day and small fry, delicious. All on a terrace on the banks of the Allier. Great!
12/09/2024: My visit to this restaurant left a lot to be desired. From the start the service was poor. Although we specified that all dishes would be shared, we were not even provided with extra plates, which was both inconvenient and inconvenient.
We started with a salad, quite acceptable. However, the real problem came with the main courses. The meat and mussels were served at the same time, making the experience even more confusing as it was difficult to enjoy both dishes properly.
The meat was, without a doubt, the biggest disappointment of the evening. It was so hard that it was almost impossible to chew, and it was completely tasteless. We had to add some sauce to give it some flavor which made us regret ordering it.
As for the mussels, although the flavor was okay, they were extremely small, almost as if they were another variety, which reduced the quality of the dish. To top it off, most of the preparations were accompanied by cheese, which, although it may please some, in this case only served to mask the lack of quality, and was difficult to digest.
Finally, the house red wine was just terrible. Of a quality comparable to that of a cooking wine, it was also served hot, which is unacceptable in a restaurant worthy of the name.
