13/07/2026: It's not that far from Brussels. With La Condition Publique nearby, Roubaix is fantastic, especially for eating at this place that makes the best Welsh rarebit on earth. The owner, who is also an artist and photographer, provides creative and cheerful service. I'll definitely be going back soon and inviting some friends.
02/07/2026: We went for lunch on Saturday, June 27th at Café Jean. Excellent brasserie! Delicious and flavorful dishes! The tarte tatin was amazing with a scoop of mango ice cream 😉 The owner was really friendly. A lovely experience after shopping at Mac Arthur Glen.
We'll definitely be back!

08/07/2026: A wonderful discovery of this restaurant for a wedding anniversary. Reservations are possible through a booking website.
We ate outside; the terrace is pleasant, even though it's quite busy.
Everything is delicious, from the appetizers to especially the desserts.
The charcuterie boards are generously filled. The portions are also substantial, and the meat and desserts are cooked to perfection.
The desserts are truly decadent.
Parking is available near the restaurant.

21/07/2026: It's a real shame and unfair to pay as much for the vegetarian dish as for the meat dish. It doesn't make sense. The portions are small. The food is average. The dessert is uninteresting. I was still very hungry when I left. Otherwise, the place is original, especially the convivial "terrace." I didn't see any cooperative aspect to the place, just the trendy, hipster vibe. This will be my one and only time.
16/07/2026: Baraka at lunchtime is always a good idea :-) And don't forget that you can use their services and take advantage of the venue for special occasions :-) Fresh cuisine and a menu that changes every day.

18/07/2026: Honestly, everything was good. Including the recommended bone marrow.
Since I'm used to tiny portions of fries, there was no need to ask for them with every dish, because we're in the north, and they're not stingy with fries at all.
We arrived quite early, so we were served rather quickly. This gave us enough time to do some shopping at the outlet across the street.
03/07/2026: A delightful discovery during a business lunch. Friendly staff, generous and delicious portions, pleasant setting... I will gladly return.

23/07/2026: A warm and inviting atmosphere, typical of a true brasserie, makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The decor has character, the ambiance is convivial, perfect for lunch with friends or family.
The service is truly top-notch: a smiling, attentive team that takes the time despite the busy pace of the service. You can tell that the customer is well taken care of, without any fuss but with genuine kindness.
A place to remember in Roubaix, I highly recommend it!

11/07/2026: A friendly spot in the heart of Roubaix that's definitely worth a visit. We appreciated the warm welcome from the waiter yesterday afternoon; my visually impaired wife thanks him for his kindness and helpfulness. The beers, a Kwak and a Kamerliet in 33cl bottles, were served chilled for €8.10, unlike in Lille where we usually pay €14.90 for the same quantity.

12/06/2026: I had lunch at the Mercure Hotel in Roubaix, at the Le Vieil Abreuvoir restaurant. On the menu: homemade iced tea and pasta with chorizo. Everything was delicious!
The portions are very generous, and the staff is particularly welcoming, attentive, and takes great care of their customers.
The menu is varied, with a selection of dishes and desserts that changes weekly. An excellent reason to come back regularly!
I highly recommend this restaurant for a pleasant time and a wonderful culinary experience.

The setting is magnificent, in a charming hotel.
Lunch was excellent and the staff were very attentive. A great place to remember in Roubaix 👍🏻

I received a wonderfully warm welcome from Charlotte, and her cooking exudes the comforting, home-style dishes that warm the heart.
She's a smiling and lovely person, and it truly provided a light and relaxing break in my day, in a bright and comfortable setting.
I highly recommend her restaurant.
13/12/2025: Portion sizes need to be reduced considering the price: three pieces of beef bourguignon were barely enough to compete on the plate, and the sautéed potatoes were undercooked and cold. It's a shame because the meat was tender... We left to have dessert elsewhere!
