01/08/2026: As a food guide, I highly recommend this establishment where authenticity meets conviviality in traditional Basque cuisine, a far cry from standardized tastes. Freshness, flavor, and of course, the must-try ttoro, Mattin's signature dish.

01/08/2026: A wonderful experience, repeated at this establishment. A very warm welcome. But the real highlight is the food: delicious and generous portions. For us, it was a meal of seafood specialties, from Ttoro (a type of fried fish) to parillada (a grilled squid salad) and grilled octopus. All this in a rather calm atmosphere on the terrace. Parking nearby. I highly recommend it.

28/06/2026: As an owner, when you receive a complaint about your food, you don't stand at a table over someone like a dominant, annoying person and tell them how fresh your food is when it's rubbish. Go eat at the neighbors' and not at this very annoying man's.

26/07/2026: We happened to come for lunch with three young children and received a very charming and accommodating welcome, allowing us to set up a large table on the terrace. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. The option of half-portions for children on all menu items was a great idea, saving them from the usual steak and fries. The desserts were fantastic, especially the Basque Mamia. A very good experience; we'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again!

02/06/2026: Awful experience… The members I encountered that day were awful… endless competition and dangerous blind holes when the groups were too close together. Not recommended.

21/08/2026: L'Alaïa boasts an exceptional location, with a magnificent view of the bay, ample parking nearby, and a lovely promenade perfect for after your meal. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive. The menu is varied, and the dishes are well-prepared. And... finally, a restaurant that serves a truly decent Caesar salad—generous and delicious—for just 18 euros! For my wife and me, it's one of the best restaurants in Saint-Jean-de-Luz/Ciboure/Urrugne in terms of value for money, and undoubtedly the best for its location!

The dishes were beautifully presented and excellent.
Just one small complaint about the dessert (pavlova), which I found less impressive than the rest of the meal.

26/08/2024: Une jolie terrasse, de bons plats locaux, une patronne rop et des serveurs/es adorables pour finir notre journée à Ciboure.
Nous avons été accueilli avec une grande gentillesse.
J'ai aimé en particulier la crème chocolat basque.
Le tartare de thon était très frais et bien préparé.
Le pâté local une vraie tuerie.
20/08/2024: Avec une maman de 94 ans nous avons passées deux soirées au top ...accueil , gentillesse , prévenance malgré une clientèle nombreuse ..Nos huîtres fraîches. le poisson de la criée loué sur les tables à côté de nous ..Merci vraiment et ce ne sera pas notre dernière soirée l

La cabane à moules

13/10/2024: Un petit resto bien sympa. Les moules (bouchot de la baie du Mont St Michel) étaient top et tellement bien préparées. Une adorable serveuse s’est bien occupée de nous. Un vrai plaisir ! Nous reviendrons, c’est sûr.
03/10/2024: Bel endroit sur le quai du port de la Socoa. Accueil très sympathique de la serveuse. Tables espacées tables bien dressées.
Prise de commande rapide ainsi que le service.
La quantité de moules servies est généreuse, et très bien cuisinée.
Pour le dessert, il ne faut pas rater la tarte au citron revisitée. Un délice!
Un conseil pensez à la demander en même temps que le plat. Il n'y en aura pas pour tous.
Prix très correct, personnel souriant, agreable moment :que peut-on demander de plus!

07/09/2024: Repas un samedi midi en couple lors d'une escapade au pays basque en amoureux. En terrasse près du port. Cadre agréable. Le restaurant ne paye pas de mine mais une très elle surprise ! Serveur très gentil et accueillant. Repas moules à la crème de chorizo un DÉLICE avec des frites maison tout aussi délicieuses ! On recommande +++

27/07/2024: Comme dire tartare de thon a 30€ avec deux feuilles de salade un peu chéri surtout que le tartare c'était pas une tuerie et les moules farcies en entrée 24€ ,toutes les entrées prix des plats très bizarre en principe ce n'est pas ça .... Une expérience non renouvelable .Il vaut mieux aller chez le voisin en Rouge 😀😀
18/06/2024: Bonne cuisine. Par contre le service pas à la hauteur. Il n'y avait pas foule mais délais très long entre les plats. Les serveurs s'embrouillent devant les clients et cerise sur le gâteau, Même quantité de pikillios servis en entrée ou en plat avec 7 euros de différence et une tasse de riz en plus pour le plat. Lorsque je fais la remarque, c'est tout juste si je ne passe pas pour le grognon de service. finalement on a eu un de plus pour le plat. Bon mais cher !
