17/05/2026: This crêperie is located in the heart of the Saint-Jean district, a stone's throw from the cathedral, on a street frequented by tourists. The atmosphere is warm and the concept simple: homemade crêpes and galettes. The vaulted cellar dining room adds a charming and authentic touch. We tried two dishes. The Italian platter features a well-made crêpe, accompanied by a ball of mozzarella with pesto, a few sun-dried tomatoes, and a little dried meat. However, the overall presentation lacked generosity: the pesto was sparse, the olive oil subtle, and the absence of balsamic vinegar was noticeable. I added pepper and salt twice, which I never usually do. Buffalo mozzarella would have been more appropriate in terms of creaminess and how well it complemented the other ingredients. The result is decent but lacks depth of flavor, a bit bland. The ham, cheese, and egg crepe is more convincing: the combination is well-balanced, and the egg on top adds a delightful twist to the flavors with every bite. One notable drawback: a wait of over thirty minutes before being served, due to a large group occupying the establishment. The situation is understandable, but a small gesture from the staff would have been appreciated, even if symbolic. Update - new visit and rating adjustment: The Aixoise (goat cheese, tomato, Emmental, mozzarella, honey) offers a fresh and well-balanced flavor, with a pleasantly measured touch of sweetness from the honey. The option to add an egg is a good idea; the combination works well. The Normande (chicken, creamed mushrooms, Emmental, mozzarella) stands out for its good ratio of ingredients, with no single element overpowering the others. This time, the service was very fast, we were the first customers at lunchtime, and like the first time, friendly and welcoming.

05/05/2026: Last Saturday, for our last evening of vacation in Lyon, we simply had to end with dinner at a traditional Lyonnais restaurant. We ordered savory crêpes and shared a sweet one. What can I say? It was delicious. A big thank you to the friendly waiters who provided excellent service, both warm and professional.

24/05/2026: Unfortunately the worst meal we’ve had in France. The food was mediocre, bland and not value for money. It’s the first time I’ve been so disappointed in a meal / experience. The service was slow too. The ingredients used for the food are not good quality either which made the dishes taste bland and we didn’t finish anything. Terrible wine too. The staff were very friendly though.

23/05/2026: There were four of us, and we had a great meal. The prices are very reasonable, and the meals are delicious and generous. In addition, the service was excellent and very welcoming.

15/05/2026: Well, a very bad experience in terms of service. The restaurant was full, which is normal for this Ascension weekend. A gentleman kindly suggested we come back in 20 minutes, saying that some seats would become available. We arrived as agreed after half an hour. His manner changed; he practically shoved us out, telling us to wait further down the street, he said in a contemptuous tone. A couple arrived as well, and he told us to wait a little longer and informed them that he was setting their table. We understood, since there were only two of them and five of us. Then, immediately afterward, a group of four people arrived, and he ushered them in and seated them. That was the last straw for us! So much for the local meal; hungry and annoyed, we decided to go to Coco's just across the street. The welcome at the Auberge Rabelais was much warmer. The products may be of good quality, sourced from the Bocuse market halls, but the service is appalling. Sir, we are not just walking wallets...
