10/05/2026: The food was good, but nothing special. In the evening, there was hardly any terrace seating (only two tables). The service was friendly.
08/05/2026: We had lunch at Aux Trois Maries and had a positive experience. The salade lyonnaise was truly delicious, flavorful, and well-balanced. The service was quick and courteous, making it ideal for a quick lunch without sacrificing quality. The restaurant is simple yet quaint, perfectly integrated into the Vieux Lyon neighborhood, making it a convenient and pleasant choice for a break while exploring the historic center. Overall, a great place for good, informal dining and good value.

02/05/2026: Superb! We were eagerly awaiting the reopening of Villa Florentine to discover the new chef's cuisine. We were delighted by the various dishes we enjoyed that evening. Thank you to the entire team! We will be back!

Disorganized service.
Amuse-bouche served before the ordered bottle of champagne.
Presentation of the wrong bottle of wine, already opened! Presentation of the digestif trolley during the cheese course. Hot dish served cold. Manager nowhere to be seen.
When it came time to pay the bill of over €1000, not a word of apology or a gesture of goodwill. In short, unworthy of their reputation. The service is more professional in some of the smaller restaurants in the area. Avoid at all costs!

13/09/2025: The restaurant has fundamentally changed its concept. Not a disaster in itself, but they should update the links/photos.
Completely understaffed, one overwhelmed waiter for the entire dining room. The kitchen is taking it easy meanwhile. Way too hot inside. The food was okay, nothing special.
We just wanted to leave...
13/09/2025: Unfortunately, Contre-Champ is not what it used to be. The chef has changed, and the experience is nothing like what you’ll see on Google or in older reviews. The food was disappointing, far below expectations, and the overall quality has dropped dramatically. To make matters worse, the poor waiter had to manage 11 tables completely on his own — service was understandably slow and chaotic, and it was painful to watch him struggle. What used to be a great place has become a real letdown. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal.

The welcome is warm and the staff are friendly. The coffee is good quality and the food is tasty, with a nice selection.
The place is pleasant, ideal for relaxing or enjoying a quiet meal. A few minor details could be improved, but overall it's a good place that I recommend 👍

29/05/2026: A fantastic traditional Lyonnais restaurant. The portions are generous, and the service is very friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, and large tables are perfect for families or colleagues. In short, I highly recommend it. My vegetarian wife appreciated the vegetarian menu, which is worth noting in a traditional Lyonnais restaurant.

17/05/2026: Very disappointed with my afternoon snack. The waitress was unfriendly and not very efficient. The crepes were overcooked, dry, and too sweet. I do not recommend it.

31/12/2025: 6 euros for a "hot chocolate" that turned out to be cocoa powder diluted in milk, served in cardboard cups.
And it was so diluted it was more white than brown.
This is extremely disappointing for an ice cream parlor, especially considering the price.
31/12/2025: What is this inedible chocolate ice cream??
I took a teaspoon of ice cream and immediately spat it out!
How can you make ice cream that bad? Even the worst store-bought ice cream at 15 cents for a 35-pack is better

08/06/2026: But where has the FAV gone?!
After months of closure, we were thrilled to rediscover such a great place.
But unfortunately, nothing lived up to expectations: (apart from the magic of the location in the heart of Lyon's 5th arrondissement)
- very slow service
- poor quality of the food
- cold dishes (sent back to the kitchen)
- children's tenders (paprika tenders... a bit spicy for a 4-year-old)
- XXL profiteroles (according to the menu), we reached the limit of "revisited desserts," no melted chocolate on a profiterole is quite daring 😉
- "homemade" sponge cake, no doubt about it... But more like the kind you get at my house, where the sponge cake stays true to the original concept... We could appreciate the chill of the freezer!
In short, disappointed because it's nowhere near the old FAV.
We'll give the new team a chance, but considering the bill... we'll give it some time.
07/06/2026: Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars because of the service; there were too few servers and an interminable wait time, but the place is very pleasant, ideal for an evening with friends, but you have to be patient!

I ended up with a nasty stomach bug.
The saleswomen's service was appalling; they had no business being there.
It was a first, and a last, and I'll never go back.
08/04/2026: I am truly disgusted and sickened by this first experience in this place, particularly by the behavior of one employee (the redhead) which borders on the ridiculous and provocative, with an aggressive tone and inappropriate words, and who has failed in her vocation as a jailer.

18/12/2024: Excellent repas dans ce bouchon haut de gamme. Un menu qui ne laisse pas sur sa faim et des plats qui nous ont regalé. Avec un service très agréable, plein d'humour et de bon conseil (merci notamment à Lenaig).
10/12/2024: Mal reçu, le réceptionniste ne trouvait pas notre réservation faite par téléphone nous a renvoyes; j'ai cherché sur mon téléphone la preuve de ma réservation mais ne l'ai pas trouvee; toujours avec la personne qui n ous disait de partir; finalement une vraie professionnelle est arrivée et à trouvé rapidement notre réservation...pas d'excuses présentées....mais c'est vrai qu'en 2024 ça ne se fait plus; je n'avais pas reçu de confirmation car mon adresse mail était fausse....nous avons été placé dans une descente pour fauteuil roulant avec beaucoup de difficultés pour arriver à tirer les chaises pour s'installer alors qu'il y avait des tables vides à côté....bref j'ai eu honte par rapport aux personnes avec lesquelles j'étais venues....je ne recommanderais plus votre restaurant.

09/02/2026: I was here in 2022 during my visit to Lyon. After leaving the cathedral, I walked through this area and arrived at this square, called Pl. du Gouvernementvi. I went to this restaurant-café and had a drink. It's a very pleasant place, in this small square surrounded by beautiful buildings. The coffee is very good, it's quiet when you're there, and the service is excellent. I really enjoyed sitting there and taking in the view.

04/02/2026: This is a hotel I'd wanted to try for a long time, after staying at Villa Maia and Boscolo.
Access by car isn't necessarily the most convenient: you park on the quayside and then have to cross cobblestone streets that make pushing the stroller with our daughter a bit bumpy.
When we booked the day before, we had some issues with the online payment system, which was glitching, but we were assured by phone that the room was indeed reserved. Upon arrival, the reservation wasn't showing up, but the staff was very responsive and quickly found us a room perfectly suited for a stay with a baby. A travel cot was brought to us shortly after we settled in.
We enjoyed the spa in the late evening: the pool was very pleasant and peaceful, and we also enjoyed a very relaxing visit to the sauna. Since two drinks were offered at the bar, we took advantage of them. Even though the planter's punch wasn't on the menu, Tanya didn't hesitate to make us several, which really contributed to the quality of the evening. We ordered snacks to go with our drinks: a charcuterie board, salmon, and a croque-monsieur, all quite good, with a special mention for the cream sauce that accompanied the salmon.
The room was comfortable, and we had a very restful night.
In the morning, we had breakfast in the courtyard in the center of the hotel: it felt like being outside while still being inside, in a truly lovely setting. The continental buffet was quite comprehensive (breads, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, fruit juices), and the eggs Benedict were rather good.
Before leaving, we made a quick stop at the gift shop in search of a Guignol puppet… we ended up leaving with the hotel's lion, which we named Léon 😊
A very pleasant experience, despite a few minor hiccups quickly resolved by attentive and efficient staff.
27/01/2026: The hotel is a beautifully renovated place, incredible bar, restaurant area, great historic common spaces! Abundant breakfast, nicely decorated rooms. You might get issues reaching the hotel because it is situated in a pedestrian area - so don’t forget to call before you arrive to get a password for entering.
