21/08/2026: We were looking for a restaurant for two in Aix-les-Bains and, after reading the many positive reviews for L’Évasion, we decided to make a reservation. And we were so glad we did! From the moment we arrived, we felt at ease. Seated on the terrace, we appreciated the calm and pleasant atmosphere, despite the nearby foot traffic. The service was very professional, attentive, and efficient. As for the food, it was excellent: refined, flavorful, and beautifully presented dishes. A wonderful discovery and a place we highly recommend. Definitely worth trying if you're ever in Aix-les-Bains.

16/08/2026: We had a double whammy. A quick breakfast with a very warm welcome made us want to come back for lunch. Homemade meals: chicken and lemon tagine (it just lacks the ambiance to feel like Marrakech) and superb salmon tartare. Don't hesitate to try the desserts made by the owner. Everyone was incredibly attentive, and the price was very reasonable considering the quality of the meal.

13/07/2026: A very pleasant café for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or afternoon tea. The menu is varied and trendy. The atmosphere is young and dynamic. Less than a 10-minute walk from the train station, it's worth it if you have a one-hour layover, for example.

08/07/2026: Brunch was fine, full of color and variety, and the decor was very Instagrammable. But the portions and quality certainly didn't justify the prices. The small slices of avocado weren't ripe, and the portion of cheese was so small I thought it was a sauce.

23/08/2026: The Worst Experience at a Michelin Guide Recommended Restaurant In this fish dish, there was only a faint fishy taste, with no fishy flesh whatsoever. The duck breast lacked firmness: its texture was excessively melting instead of slightly firm. The skin was completely uncrispy, and the subcutaneous fat hadn't rendered, as if the meat had been simmered rather than seared. Furthermore, both main courses were surprisingly served with the same garnish of small fried dumplings.

We and our children really enjoyed it. There aren't many tables in the dining area, but we managed to find a seat. The main issue is probably the sheer number of options on the menu: there are so many choices and variations that it's quite difficult to navigate and decide what you want, but the owner was helpful. I do appreciate it when the chef chooses for me, suggesting the best combinations (though he still gives me a choice). Overall, it's an excellent establishment that I highly recommend. It's fast food, but upscale, far superior to chain restaurants, while remaining in roughly the same price range.
