30/11/2023: Hosted an event here last week in the hotel's reception room, and recommend it very highly as a venue. The room's setup is extremely simple, just "plug and play" if you need to show a PPT or any kind of materials from a computer. The catering was unfussy and very tasty, and we were able to provide the wine ourselves (the hotel charged a very reasonable corkage fee). The 2 members of staff who set up the food were courteous and professional, very happy to go the extra mile to make us comfortable, and made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel itself is charming: set back from the street, with its own courtyard, a fire pit and terrace. Simple but elegant design. There is one receptionist and few other staff members; however, everyone we spoke to was responsive and professional. I went up to see my friend's room inside the hotel and it was, again, simple and elegant - quite a number of rooms have their own balconies which is a lovely feature. A 10/10 from me.

12/09/2024: Leaving aside the considerations on how the place looks internally (the floor with a sticky effect and a toilet smell that lingers in the air...), I move on to the food. Coming from an Italian who should know something about cooking and who has been to France several times and has only eaten French food, I would say that we are not quite there. If there had been a Cannavacciuolo, he would have run into the kitchen and lifted the chef. The magret de canard ordered arrives cut like a slice of cake, with a cooking that is not a rosé as ordered but almost raw, placed on top of a multitude of vegetables placed on the plate in a messy manner and of questionable cooking (boiled? roasted? dunno... ). The big mistake is the red fruits that accompany it: it's an exaggeration of vinaigrette, vinegar that floats at the bottom of the dish and ruins everything, covering the flavor of both the meat and the vegetables and making it nauseating. Please bring the vinaigrette separately so the customer can decide whether to put it and how much to put. No gentlemen, we're not there! I do not want and cannot go to a restaurant, spend more than €30 per person and have similar food, nor do I have to send the dish back to the kitchen if it is not to my liking because the commitment on the part of those who boast the name of chefs is almost non-existent. This is a dish made by someone who doesn't know how to cook, by someone who improvised as a cook that evening, not by a chef. I'm sorry but you have to renew yourself on quite a few fronts.

31/08/2024: Home cooking, as we no longer find it, in northern Seine-et-Marne there is no longer a restaurant like it. A perfect chili, a top duck breast and a children's burger worthy of the name.burger I recommend

13/09/2023: So impressed with the renovation of the hotel- it’s so charming. I had a room with a terrace which was beautiful, it looked onto the courtyard which has been done so well. It’s right in the middle of the town. The staff were warm and very professional, and if you come you must go to the spa.. I’ll be back soon! Thank you x

12/09/2023: Tout est parfait, hôtel refait à neuf, très bon accueil et personnel au top tant côté hôtel que spa, très belles chambres confortables. Spa très beau et reposant !

26/08/2024: Recommended by the restaurant Le Mansart closed this Monday evening, reservation via The Fork for this brasserie facing the town hall of Fontainebleau. Friendly welcome and brasserie dish on the menu. The herring and potato starter was perfect and then foie de vaux impeccably cooked. I recommend this brewery. AMEX card accepted.

30/08/2024: Cet avis concerne le Chaplin sur 2 prestations différentes, le restaurant et le service traiteur. Concernant le restaurant, on y trouve un menu unique composé de 2 entrées, 2 plats et 2 desserts plus une sélection sympa de viandes à la carte. Tout est très travaillé, les produits sont bons et la présentation est très belle, ce qui forcément donne envie. Le couple de gérants tout comme les serveuses sont très sympa, il y toujours un petit mot, une attention qui fait qu'on s'y sent bien ! D'un point de vu tarif, le menu est à 16.50€ difficile de faire mieux pour un repas de cette qualité ! D'autant plus que les quantités sont là ! Le traiteur : nous avons fait appel à leurs services pour nos 10 ans de mariage, je peux chercher dans tous les sens, tout était PARFAIT ! Le vin d'honneur excellent avec des quantités astronomiques, le repas était savoureux, et le dessert une merveille ! L'équipe a été aux petits soins pour nous pendant toute la soirée. Les invités étaient conquis et nous aussi bien entendu ! Merci à toute l'équipe nous avons vécu un moment d'exception grâce à vous 😀.
