09/07/2026: A historic café, Syringa is the predecessor of Le Lilas! A cozy atmosphere and hearty, traditional cuisine with a strong local flavor. The terrace offers a breathtaking view of the Place du Garde-Chasse, where the opening scene of Jean Cocteau's film Orpheus was filmed. Live music adds to the ambiance! Here, the jam session on July 7th with the Lilas jazz quartet.

20/10/2026: The menu isn't very appealing to begin with. The service was fine, and the staff did their best. However, the quality of the food leaves much to be desired. The cuts of meat were mediocre, the cooking was inconsistent, the side dishes were poor, and the presentation was disastrous. It had been a very long time since my last visit, and I didn't recognize Courtepaille. The unlimited side dishes are gone; now you have to choose just one. The bread is disgusting, and the desserts are frozen. That's not why Courtepaille has become cheap: €30 for a main course, dessert, and drink! That's it for me; I won't be going back. I'll go to Hippo or Buffalo Grill instead.

Usually quite good, this time I was disappointed by the very bland main course: breaded fish with three potatoes and a tiny salad, a mediocre dessert, and by the hefty bill—absolutely no value for money. Furthermore, we were seated on benches without backrests. By the end of the meal, my back was aching for the rest of the day. I am extremely disappointed.
