04/09/2026: We stopped for lunch; the food was good, but the owner was awful to the staff. Personally, I call that disrespectful. I'm a business owner myself, and I don't treat my staff like that. It's a disgrace; it's thanks to them that the business is successful. There's a minimum level of respect that should be shown; this is bordering on harassment.

27/08/2026: Lovely little restaurant, however the quality was not there at all. The food was bland or felt like it was out of a jar. The pizza was burn and if somewhere can not do a spag bol from scratch then you can’t really call yourself an Italian. The price is a lot for the quality and portion size. Plus she asked what tip she was getting. I think they need to work on their quality of produce.

24/08/2026: We stumbled upon Olivetto restaurant by chance. From the storefront and the overall feel, we found it charming and welcoming. However, we waited quite a while for the woman to take our order. She might have seemed cold and unfriendly at first, but she's actually quite a characterful, genuine person with a refreshingly straightforward manner. As for our order, we had pizzas and pasta. Perhaps we were just unlucky that day, but we waited almost an hour for our food; these things happen. The food was quite good, although the pizza dough was a bit hard to cut. I would have preferred not to eat with a view of the kitchen, and that's what lowered my rating. If I had eaten without seeing the kitchen, I would have given it a 3, but unfortunately, I can't go above a 2. The hygiene needs improvement! Finally, we ordered desserts, and despite being told they were homemade, they weren't. Overall, an okay experience, but nothing special.

01/07/2026: I ordered 6 pizzas for delivery for an evening with members of an association. Only 3 were delivered on the first attempt. I refused the delivery and demanded all 6! It was done without any problem, but I had to wait even longer. A real shame, especially since the order was placed 40 minutes earlier.

02/09/2026: Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I've been a customer at this store for 10-15 years and I know the cashier, Ms. G..., who used to work in the bread department at the Esperance branch, where we always had very friendly conversations. She was transferred to the Grassinais branch a few years ago, and she confides in my friend and me, saying some pretty nasty things about her colleagues and department heads at Esperance. We've been buying the same items for years, always chatting and joking with her. Today, she called her manager without warning. We forgot to pay for the remaining balance on an item we presented at the checkout on our last visit. We've gone from being "friends" to being treated like petty thieves. From now on, we'll be going back to the Esperance branch, which is less busy and less visually appealing, but where the service is much more personal and friendly than what Ms. G... now provides. However, I would like to emphasize the respectful behavior of the manager who intervened. Moral of the story: This will put you off any spontaneous, human interaction in a cashier-customer relationship.

29/07/2026: Upon arrival, we weren't greeted. We got to the register to place our order, and two employees were chatting… I have nothing against that, but they still need to be professional. They weren't exactly the friendliest, but it's a fast-food restaurant, and it's fine; it's not a disaster. We ordered takeout, and when we got to the beach, we discovered there was no towel in the bag, and the sandwiches were overflowing with sauce… So that's quite a problem! Anyway, I wouldn't discourage anyone from going; it'll suit Subway regulars!

21/07/2026: Honestly, an excellent experience! Initially, I just came in to grab a 6-inch sandwich and leave quickly. But the young woman who served me completely transformed my visit to Subway. She was incredibly kind, always smiling, welcoming, patient, and very professional. She took the time to advise me based on my preferences, explain the different options, and answer all my questions with a smile. Thanks to her advice and enthusiasm, I ended up ordering a 12-inch sandwich, a full meal, and even several extras. You can tell she loves her job and genuinely wants customers to leave happy. It wasn't a hard sell at all, but simply excellent customer service and interaction. It's rare to find someone so dedicated and pleasant these days. A welcome like this really makes you want to come back. I work in Saint-Malo regularly, and thanks to her, I'll now be coming back to eat at Subway very often. She's exactly the kind of person who gives the brand an excellent image. A huge thank you to her for her professionalism, her good humor, and her smile. Employees like her are invaluable and make all the difference. She truly deserves to be recognized for her work… and, in my opinion, a nice raise wouldn't be out of place! Plus, she had a lovely, slightly husky voice—so cute! Thank you for the warm welcome and the advice; my meal was excellent! 👌🏼

23/08/2026: Having worked at this chain for 25 years and knowing it very well, I find the state of the toilets appalling. At barely 12:30 PM, the toilet bins are overflowing, the floor is flooded with urine or something else. One door doesn't even have a lock anymore. You can feel the absence of a manager, and even more so, of a franchisee on site. This problem would never have existed under Bruno Dagonet, given that the customer traffic was completely different back then. This isn't the first time I've noticed this, and I felt it had to be said.

11/06/2026: Bearing in mind this is a two star hotel. We were in an accessible room on the ground floor. It was a reasonable size with a large wet room. Room was clean and serviced daily. The restaurant offered an adequate continental breakfast and a typical menu based around pizza and mussels. Parking is on side streets but free. Three stars for location due to nothing to do within walking distance apart from the sea 200 yds away. Would certainly suit people travelling on the St Malo ferry giving them somewhere to sleep the night before.
