08/03/2026: Incredible site and a very experienced and captivating guide.
A truly memorable family experience. The visit, the preserved heritage, the picnic on site, coffee on the terrace, games with the bells, digital recreations of everyday life, and the animated film in the boiler room were all fantastic.
It was flawless; even the children were fascinated.
Bravo for this experience that captivated both young and old.
08/03/2026: A superb visit, updated with animations and works of art. You can easily spend 3 hours there without getting bored!

29/12/2025: Just a very brief visit to the lounge bar after exploring the abbey. A warm welcome, quick service, and reasonable prices. Charming décor, a crackling fireplace, candlelight: everything was perfect for a pleasant moment!
23/12/2025: The dining room was poorly heated, the male staff were unfriendly, the meat was too fresh and therefore tough, the steak tartare was badly prepared, and the wild boar was certainly not homemade. In short, a huge disappointment. The only positive point is the location opposite the abbey.

15/02/2026: A wonderful Valentine's Day surprise from my husband: first, a visit to Fontevraud Abbey. Super interesting with a very friendly guide. Then off to La Licorne: everything was perfect: the welcome, the staff, the dinner, and the bed and breakfast!! Everything was delicious, homemade, and this morning, a generous breakfast. I highly recommend this haven of calm and peace. Isabelle, our hostess, is charming with her Spanish accent 😊

23/03/2026: The food truly lives up to the magnificent setting!
The chef has made this sublime abbey his home for many years, and it's easy to see why; the monastic atmosphere doesn't detract from the pleasure of the delicious dishes on offer.
The wine pairings were very well chosen.
12/03/2026: A perfect moment. You'll discover exceptional flavors.

05/01/2026: Lunch with the family before visiting the abbey! A charming, vintage setting and atmosphere! Warm, home-style cooking. We had a lovely time enjoying the music!
03/01/2026: A very nice, friendly, and welcoming place. The food is delicious, and the service is very pleasant, especially when it comes to the wine selection. Opposite the abbey.

23/08/2024: I do not understand why this establishment is authorized to market so close to the abbey. An obvious lack of hygiene and a dilapidated and dirty terrace. If you visit the site there is a cafeteria inside in the gardens. And what's more, with lower prices.

10/07/2024: Improved service, I see some poor reviews from last year but I can only say we experienced the opposite. The food was good and service professional.
26/06/2024: Idéalement placé près de l'abbaye sur une charmante petite place. Les patrons sont charmants, agréables et très attentionnés. Nous avons bien mangé. Les plats étaient très copieux et fait maison, les frites excellentes cuites dans la graisse de bœuf. (les toilettes sont surprenantes mais géniales). Nous recommandons sans hésiter.
