22/11/2025: I've ordered several times since the new owner took over, and the food is still just as delicious, whether you order takeout or eat in. The wait time was practically nonexistent on my last takeout order!

20/11/2025: No complaints whatsoever, everything was good, plentiful and generous, with remarkably friendly service for a flawless finishing touch.

05/06/2026: Decided on a change of venue for my overnight stay on the way down France and found this and was well worth the effort of searching! Will start with the food, I had the room and menu option which was unbelievable value! £132.00 for the room, 3 course dinner (with a supplement on the starter), glass of champagne and 2 glasses of very good wine and then breakfast in the morning! The food is excellent, well cooked, well presented and as delicious as I hoped it would be. The other menu option is a reasonable €40 had an impressive selection of options too. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the chef came to chat to the customers at the end of the evening. The room was simple, but everything you need (the fan was a bit noisy but OK, there are only sachets of shower gel/shampoo so remember your own toiletries) but very clean with lovely wooden floors and a comfortable bed. Check in if the restaurant is not open is easy and hassle free. I managed to park directly opposite FOC and there is ample parking round the corner also FOC. All in all a hearty recommendation and is a short walk from the centre of Chalon if you would like a post dinner stroll (and is definitely worth the stroll from the centre of town, so reserve a table now!)

14/04/2026: Excellent welcome, generous and well-prepared home-style cooking, and a varied and high-quality wine list. It's hard to find establishments like this anymore, with a truly family-run, unpretentious atmosphere and honest cuisine.

15/09/2026: A wonderful discovery! Lots of fresh, homemade products! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal; the meat was cooked to perfection. The service was efficient and friendly. We'll be back! 😉

07/09/2026: Food was medium at best good sandwich but the fries Sucked. service was painfully slow. I've been to better places. The server was very polite but forgetful.

05/06/2026: We went out with friends and had a wonderful time. The waiter was very charming and welcoming. We ate very well; the dishes and desserts were beautifully presented and very tasty.

01/09/2026: A pleasant surprise. The service is friendly and very fast. The food is excellent: the meat, fries, and Caesar salad are superb. Furthermore, all the dishes are generously portioned. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

19/08/2026: Stayed near Chalon sur Champagne on way north from Provence to Calais - last meal of the holiday. What a brilliant find...amazing food, attentive service, great value, good selection / range of dishes.

25/09/2026: As a very good customer of this restaurant, I was nonetheless pleasantly surprised when I ordered a pizza and my credit card was declined. I went to get some cash from my car, but the owner had already given me a very cold welcome upon my arrival and was particularly unpleasant: "I'm busy, dear, I just need 5 euros," she said in a tone I found quite inappropriate. Furthermore, she addressed me informally throughout the entire exchange, which I found unprofessional and rather surprising. It's a shame, because until then I had been a regular and satisfied customer.

01/09/2026: The welcome was nonexistent; they pointed us to our table with their hands. A whisky and Coke was served with flat, unflavored Coke... followed by overcooked pasta with Parmesan, completely tasteless. Avoid this place if you want a delicious meal! What a shame... It wasn't always like this.

23/05/2026: ⭐☆☆☆☆ Very disappointed by the reception and lack of respect. I came to a coffee specialist to buy coffee suitable for my French press, but instead of receiving professional advice, I felt mocked and not taken seriously. I was only offered coffee at €47 per kilo, without any real consideration for my needs. Such an attitude towards a customer is incomprehensible and has no place in a business that claims to be specialized.

29/07/2026: A very bad experience. I ordered a shawarma sandwich, was charged in advance, and then told they were out of fillings. The result was a meat patty with absolutely no flavor. They said I could come back next week for a free replacement, but they failed to mention they were going on vacation that week. So, the service was appalling and the sandwich inedible; I strongly advise against going there.

21/07/2026: A small place for a quick lunch or dinner. The food is good quality. Service is basic but friendly. There's a limited amount of seating inside and a few tables outside for a relaxed meal.
