22/05/2026: We hadn't made a reservation, didn't know it was necessary, and walked in at 7:00 PM. It was completely full, but the very friendly owner went to see if he could still arrange something. And luckily, he still had a high table with bar stools at the back of the restaurant. We had an incredibly delicious meal; the nems (spring rolls); I have never had them this good! The steak tartar and the beef stew; our main courses were delicious, and the tiramisu too! We really had a great meal for a low price; super! Afterwards, we spoke briefly with the owner, who started this restaurant 15 years ago at the age of 22. It is simply always full, and I understand why. We said goodbye with a handshake and kisses for my wife! Service a 10, atmosphere a 10, and truly, the food a solid 10! 21-5-2026: back at the Mec in shorts! We sat outside nicely; the street was closed to traffic, and a large terrace had been set up where you could sit comfortably. What lovely, hospitable service this restaurant has. You feel welcome and are served with great pleasure. I can be brief about the food there: amazing! Be sure to finish the meal with their baba because it is superb. We will definitely be back in October; I am already looking forward to it…

The freshness of the ingredients is undeniable, the flavors are authentic, fragrant, and exquisitely delicate. The menu offers a lovely variety of choices, and the value for money is simply unbeatable. A must-visit in Nevers; we will definitely be back!

04/01/2026: Okay, sorry, but I'm going to give it two stars. The first star because you can't start from scratch, and the second, which is the only good point, is that they at least said hello. After that notable event, it was like stepping into another dimension. The atmosphere was quite austere, a bit "uncomfortable" in this bar/restaurant. We were there, but we didn't exist! We waited patiently standing to order, but no one bothered to acknowledge us or even glance at us, for what seemed like an eternity. So we turned around and left. Perhaps our faces didn't deserve to boost their profits. We resigned ourselves to it, feeling ignored. Well, I don't blame them, it's just a shame to be in business when you clearly don't understand the basics. And maybe they simply don't need customers; besides, it didn't look like there was a rush of people coming in for a Saturday night. So we went to Lord's, and it was honestly great. I'd give them a solid 5/5 for their hospitality and service; they clearly know how to treat their customers. You should take note.

02/06/2026: A manager who tells you "we open at noon" just because you're looking at the menu, not even a hello, has absolutely no business sense. He must have been a prison guard. The waitress was no better. She served us when we asked for chili oil for the pizza that had just been served, but she acted like a jerk, saying there were other tables to take orders. Luckily, the pizzas were good and well-topped, but given the atmosphere, we didn't order dessert. What a shame.

25/06/2026: I've been to Patapain before for a break. But learning what happens on the pig farms that supply them completely changed my experience. The piglets are mutilated at birth: tails docked and teeth ground down, and the breeding sows spend half their lives in cages, prevented from standing: a living hell! Pigs are intelligent and sensitive animals: this cruelty shocks me and now prevents me from returning to Patapain with any peace of mind.

25/06/2026: I still hoped to return to Patapain after my last visit, where I had enjoyed my break. But I learned that in the standard farms where you buy your pigs, the piglets are mutilated at birth: their tails are docked and their teeth ground down, while the breeding sows spend half their lives in cages. Knowing this completely ruins my customer experience and deeply shocks me.
