23/06/2026: Hello, I had heard great things about your pastry shop, but now I understand why the young saleswoman didn't show me the pavlova! It was supposed to serve 6 people at 5 euros a slice. It wasn't tall enough, the fruit was minimal, and look at the size (if I may add a photo), it was the size of my hand...it's shameful, barely enough for 4 people, if that. In response to your message left today, I didn't see the dessert because I was only shown a box tied with string. So, I'm not questioning the price of the cake, but the size! As for the pavlova recipe, the meringue isn't flat but hollowed out, not filled with 1 cm of cream and a few scattered fruits. It's a shame you don't consider the quality and quantity of your pastries. Sincerely.

04/09/2026: At the trade fair, the meal wasn't hot, the meat was tough, and the cooking wasn't as expected. On top of that, the service was unpleasant. And there were 15 of us.

25/09/2026: Fantastic birthday dinner with my girlfriends this Thursday evening. A warm welcome as always, and for dessert, my absolute favorite: chicory crème brûlée! A delight you should definitely try if you haven't already.

02/04/2026: I ordered a chicken mayonnaise sandwich. It was absolutely disgusting. The mayonnaise on the bread was sickening, with a few red onions and pickles. Run away!

26/03/2026: The restaurant was very clean and the meat was of good quality.

13/09/2026: The service was too fast!! We ordered two aperitifs, and the salad and soup were already on the table almost as soon as they were served! It wasn't very pleasant to drink the aperitif and soup at the same time! Apart from that, everything was good!

04/09/2026: Traditional Japanese restaurant. Like many, the menus use letters and numbers, which isn't the case in a truly authentic Japanese restaurant. The food is decent. The dining rooms and terrace overlooking the Scarpe River are clean, as are the restrooms. The person who served me was friendly.

13/09/2026: The service was adequate, it's a real shame it was marred by the undercooked hamburgers. The steaks we ordered were rare, like the soles of Timberland boots… The coffee looked like a puddle on a dirt road… A pity, because the place itself is quite nice. I should add that the burrata appetizer is served in a bath of oil (it's definitely not fries). I recommend it for the tobacco shop; the person there is very friendly. The prices are still reasonable (thankfully).

24/08/2026: 10/10 Nice staff especially Florian who is meticulous and very reactive to each of your request. The food and coffee are delicious, very relaxed and calm. Prices are fair and it’s a value in my opinion for the high standards of quality of this establishment. +

04/09/2026: The welcome was good and the service excellent, however, hygiene and cleanliness were lacking, which is a shame.

18/08/2026: I only tried the coffee shop and the toilets. The former was fine, nothing special. It was the latter that made me want to write: STAY AWAY! "Filthy" is the first word that comes to mind. Pee everywhere, the ventilation system broken—I must have been dealing with a real emergency to stay there. If that's your situation, learn to breathe through your mouth!

16/02/2026: The best place I've been to in Douai. Note that this is La Pergola restaurant, now separate from the Vintage bar. Set in a courtyard, it has a lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome. The food is truly delicious (the baked egg and sautéed shrimp on creamy leeks are to die for, the duck breast is cooked to perfection and served in a generous portion…), the prices are very reasonable, and the set menu is even better. And in the warmer months, there's an incredible garden to enjoy a meal or a drink with friends (as a fan of sweet wines, the waiter introduced me to an amazing Coteaux du Layon). In short, a must-visit for me.

20/08/2026: Avoid at all costs! I ordered 6 pizzas, the delivery driver arrived 45 minutes late, with no apology. The pizzas were cold and not good at all; I'd even say disgusting.

09/08/2026: First time at this pizzeria, we thought we'd give it a try, so we took advantage of the 3-pizza-thin-crust offer on their website. Unfortunately, we received 2 out of 3 pizzas with burnt crusts, and we finally realized that the word "thin" was taken very literally. The crust was so thin you could see through it; it felt more like eating an overcooked flammekueche than a pizza. And honestly, it was the same with the toppings; the tomato pieces we got were extremely small, far from being a gourmet pizza. For us, the value for money wasn't there, and we won't be back.

08/09/2026: I went to this bar because I was passing through during my visit to Douai. Coffee was €1.90 and a glass of water was €0.30. The person behind the bar wasn't very friendly. The owner was nicer; when he arrived at the café, he shook hands with all the customers.

12/05/2026: Dirty café frequented by unsavory characters, and the owners are very unpleasant and disdainful. I advise against eating there unless you want to get sick. The drinks are subpar. Avoid at all costs.

11/09/2026: Excellent restaurant. We came with friends for dinner and received a truly warm welcome. The food was delicious. The manager is very friendly. Thank you. We will be back.

25/08/2026: A must-visit in Douai! Always a warm welcome and authentic cuisine

30/07/2026: We arrived today with a reservation for five people. Once there, we ordered drinks, and the very kind waitress came to take our food orders. Under the pretext of not having a cook available at lunchtime, they didn't offer any meat, and those eating halal couldn't order pasta with salmon or anything else. I find it quite serious that a restaurant in the center of a major city doesn't have a cook available at lunchtime.

25/07/2026: Sorry, but tagliatelle carbonara isn't made with milk, only bacon.
