31/08/2024: A night spent at the “Soleil d’Or”. The welcome is family, the perfect setting (city center). The room is spacious but "sanibroyeur" WC with lots of recommendations posted, shower with bathtub to step over (risk of falling) and plastic shower curtain), shower head unusable... As for breakfast: "Self-service" type ", no one present, microwave, carton of milk, very little butter and fruit juice, no pastries... In short, I recommend not having breakfast but rather going to have it in town

30/11/2024: Don't be fooled by the bad comments, some are wrong with the tobacco bar next door which has almost the same name, for my part very warm welcome, very affordable prices, I loved the homemade fries just the space which is a bit small but their burgers are excellent

20/11/2024: What a disappointment.... Came to drink a coffee and play a Euromillions: scam she gave me a star plus office without warning. 5€ instead of 7€. Cold toilet, limited reception. I don't recommend.

16/05/2024: First experience in this establishment! I think the place is quite old. Having to go to the toilet outside is not the best! The waitress asks too many questions which is none of her business!! But on the other hand the cuisine is a delight, nothing to say!!

10/09/2024: To make sure the store is open, I call before going there. A saleswoman confirms to me that closing time is 7 p.m. But she doesn't give me the new address. So I go to Mortagne and break my nose in front of the old address. It’s 6:45 p.m. No problem, I’ll call the store again. The saleswoman gives me the new address, it's two minutes away. I announce that I'll be there straight away but she replies in a curt tone that there's no need, she's closing up. I will learn a moment later that Gérard Taurin is no longer there, these are the products but he left a saleswoman to look after the shop. Damage. But fortunately there is another glacier in Mortagne au Perche.

20/08/2024: Not very expensive, but I won't go back. Too many frozen foods, rather tasteless dishes and the buffet is more often empty than anything else. In this type of buffet, there are better in Alencon for the same price

11/08/2024: Not good. Missing the vegetables. Little choice for dishes and side dishes. The deserts are not great.

22/08/2024: The best kebab in Orne? The level is very low in Orne, still this bland, soft and textureless meat which comes from the meadow-pail factory used by the majority of kebabs in Alençon. No home fries. In short, an ultra classic kebab with cheap products like you see almost everywhere in Orne... On the other hand, the portions are generous and the welcome is quite good. On the other hand, 7.50e for a kebab of this quality is clearly not worth it.

11/08/2024: Infamous, Order arrived in 1h20, cold, soft fries. Burger without any taste due to water. You have to have a taste bud problem to like this kind of restaurant… One star because there is no choice.

30/09/2024: Good worker/road restaurant, starter buffet, hot dish buffet, same for desserts. Reasonable price (meal price + coffee 16€), good dishes and choice.

12/08/2024: Hotel a little dilapidated this is obvious but impeccable cleanliness for a few nights in the region. Not suitable if you want to sleep in 🤭

16/06/2024: Still one of the lesser hotels we have stayed in so far. We had booked because there was a restaurant, but "the cook was sick", so we were referred to a Chinese around the corner. The food here was fine, thankfully. Unfortunately the mattress was too soft, no coffee/tea service in the room and the breakfast was minimal.

17/07/2024: Restaurant face à un joli vestige. Belle façade du restaurant, qui est moderne, propre. Les tables ne sont pas collées les unes aux autres. Le service est bien. Les wc sont propres. Le menu du jour est autour de 15€ pour entrée + plat + dessert, avec à chaque fois deux choix possibles. Les assiettes sont généreuses et on sent le « fait maison ». Le meilleur de tout ce qu’on a pris : les tenders (très bons!) du menu enfant. Néanmoins on ne peut vraiment pas dire que nous avons bien mangé. Le poulet frites baignait dans l’huile; quand on le coupait de l’huile en sortait. Les frites étaient huileuses et molles, celles du menu enfant étaient marrons foncées et molles. Quant à la mousse banane en dessert, elle sentait certes tout à fait à la banane, était faite maison et généreuse mais c’était très particulier et pas léger… On avait choisi ce restaurant selon les avis Tripadvisor dont en fait la plupart sont anciens ; clairement ce n’était pas le bon choix à faire…

03/05/2024: We had lunch there with my mother who is currently hospitalized in Sées, it is ideal because it is located right opposite. The quality/price ratio is excellent, friendly service, good food, plentiful, pleasant room recently renovated.

07/09/2024: No welcome, no hello, no smile, we feel like we're disturbing... Uninteresting industrial kebab, uncooked meat (if you can call it that), frozen fries. In short, not good, no interest, and unpleasant. I wouldn't come back.

11/08/2024: A leftover kebab as dry as a stick. A Caesar salad?? Which Caesar salad? Just tomato, green salad, cucumber and a shameful lemon wedge for sauce....
