22/11/2025: At Douglas in Montreuil, in a friendly atmosphere, I enjoyed this salmon dish: a different way to taste and savor it. I found that the combination of salmon and apple slices gave the dish a delightful flavor, with a touch of acidity. Even though I don't know exactly what was in it, I loved its freshness and thoroughly enjoyed eating it.
This tapas bar, with its cleverly organized central kitchen, allowed me to have a wonderful time.

08/12/2024: We had a great time at Pot du Clap! The homemade soups and flamiches were absolutely delicious. The dishes are generously served, very hearty, perfect for a comforting meal. In addition, the organization was impeccable and the service very pleasant. A great address that we recommend without hesitation!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

And yet we were still charged for it; the only gesture was a small scoop of ice cream for our daughter. Considering the price, it's unacceptable...

14/11/2025: Disappointed by the lack of communication when ordering, with the €33 set menu, we were charged an extra €3 for fries, which were also cut too thin and were dry. There were three of us, so €3 x 3. But the waitress failed to mention the extra charge for fries. We won't be back.

The baked egg was excellent.
The lamb shank and sweetbreads were a pure delight.
The dessert was a moment of escape to end our meal.
An address to remember.
Service with a smile, and kudos to the young waiter who is just starting out.
23/01/2026: Lovely cosy brasserie in heart of Montreuil. First came here in 1980s but new owners have refurbished completely with an open kitchen. My starter of fresh prawns was very good but my rump steak ‘a point’ was on the dry side. Suggest order ‘saignant’ rather than ‘a point’. Chips with skins on were bit limp, not crispy. The bearnaise sauce was solid not runny. My wife had snails which were ok but her coquille saint jaques main course was excellent. Good wine by the glass. Very good service.

24/11/2025: A perfect experience! From the service to the food, everything was absolutely magnificent. The welcome was warm, the staff attentive, and the dishes as beautiful as they were delicious. A true French brasserie, just the way we like them: friendly, refined, and generous. I will definitely be back!
08/11/2025: A very pleasant surprise. The flank steak was excellent, served with homemade sauce on a warming grill plate. A basket of fries and a very good salad were presented on a slate platter. Marine, the waitress, was very friendly and pleasant. Esther, the owner, was very welcoming. All this for a very reasonable price. We will be back.

A cut of charcuterie pork. Lots of fat, unseared meat
As for wine, either you have a bottle or wine by the glass. There are only 2 red wines by the glass, which ones? I ask the waiter. A wine from La Rochelle (ah!!!!) or a Sierra
Whether he confused the Sierra Nevada and the Syrah grape variety, time will tell.
We leave it there and move on

The frites were ok - the steak, the duck, the weird prawn and cheese concoction were all inedible.
BTW. sprinkling sesame seeds over congealed gravy does not elevate a dish. It just makes it look weird.

19/12/2025: Once a mecca of Montreuil's gastronomy, nothing remains of the culinary experience one would expect from an establishment recommended by Gault&Millaut, even in 2023:
- The starter was utterly bland, so much so that the staff didn't even count it after my complaints.
- The main course seemed vacuum-packed, lacking flavor in every aspect.
- And the icing on the cake was the so-called mango mille-feuille, which, not only wasn't made with mango but was vaguely decorated with microscopic pieces of mango, contained neither pastry cream nor anything resembling it, but a simple, unappealing cream that left a bad taste in your stomach!
- As for the service, it was incredibly slow, even though we were practically the only customers! That's really expensive for such a poor culinary experience...
This establishment sadly reflects the damage done to French gastronomy by the rampant industrialization of the restaurant industry...
14/12/2025: What a disappointment! We had booked a table for eight people on a Saturday night. The initial welcome was adequate, but then everything went downhill. We waited two hours for our main course, which arrived cold, of course. The presentation on the plates was far from impressive! We were freezing, and on this December weekend, we would have appreciated a lit fireplace. The desserts were overpriced for what they were.
And to top it all off, I hadn't brought my dog because I had been told to do so when I made the reservation: no problem. But when we arrived, there was a dog... strange. Double standards.
Consequently, the bill was far too high for such a disappointing experience.
There are plenty of restaurants in Montreuil. You'll find better elsewhere.
