22/08/2024: Had the most wonderful stay at Avril’s. If you’re looking to explore the Somme this is the best place to stay. They have the most amazing collection in the museum and the welcome is like being home from home. Wish we had stayed for longer, we will definitely be back and hope to not leave it another 30 years! Could not recommend enough!!!

19/08/2024: Visited as we saw online that there was an WW1 excavated trench on site. It was amazing and really interesting. We had lunch and drinks. A great menu in english. We are vegetarian and had struggled to find food on the trip. We ate well here. Beautiful surroundings with chickens and birds. Would recommend.

10/06/2024: Soirée entre amis, nous avis tous pris des plats différents. La ficelle picarde est très bonne, faite maison avec de très bons produits. En plat principal, filet de bœuf avec des frites maison. L’accueil est vraiment au top. Merci pour cette excellente soirée. Un très bon restaurant traditionnel.

18/02/2024: Restaurant atypique, dans son jus, on se croirait chez l'habitant avec un accueil chaleureux et convivial La viande est extra et le cassoulet, la spécialité, copieux et délicieux C'est le plus vieux restaurateur d'Amiens ! Je recommande

22/07/2024: Coming back from vacation on Sunday we looked for a brasserie and ate like kings and with a warm welcome we will come back at least with a well-stocked plate

18/08/2024: Très bon restaurant qui accepte les réservations en période estivale ! Personnel bienveillant et très sympathique ! Les plats sont généreux y compris le plat du menu enfant Produits régionaux comme la ficelle picarde et les frites étaient bien faites maison ce jour. Nous nous sommes régalés

18/08/2024: Très bon restaurant, menu à prix cohérent 27 euros. Rien à voir avec le restau horrible et pas commercial pour deux sous de l îlot trésor juste à côté . Les frites sont horribles. La ficelle picarde on cherche encore le jambon dedans alors que la mouette c’était l’entrée la ficelle et bien généreuse.

27/04/2024: Viandes arrivées froides ,le cuistot a juste tiédi après retour en cuisine et a mélangé les assiettes,la viande est revenue tiède et l accompagnement froid.... juste le serveur très gêné de l incompétence et de la mauvaise fois du cuisinier. Ambiance entre associés qui joue sur la qualité,a fuir.....

02/09/2024: Nous avons été fort déçus. C'est tout juste moyen. Nous sommes habitués aux vraies galettes de sarrazin que l'on déguste à Quiberon par ex. Ici, elles sont toutes molles sans goût particulier. L'assaisonnement cache ce défaut.

22/09/2024: Bestelde vlees was zo zwart als houtskool en zo taai als een schoenzool. De service maakte een hoop goed maar voor het eten hoef je niet te gaan.

21/09/2024: Personnel très sympathique et ambiance très agréable! Les côtes d'agneau étaient excellentes. Laissez un peu d'espace pour le dessert... Belle variété... Optez pour Le Chic Gourmand... À la prochaine! Very friendly staff and very pleasant atmosphere! The lamb chops were excellent. Leave a little space for dessert...Nice variety... Recommended: Le Chic Gourmand... Lovely experience in a very nice restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

11/07/2026: The owner, Cyril, is great. And the waiter too. You can tell they enjoy their work at a bar. Very cool spot in Saint-Leu. I highly recommend it. A good atmosphere with French music and other styles that you'll appreciate. I recommend it. Drink responsibly. ❤️💘

14/05/2026: Very disappointed with this bar. The cocktails are good early in the evening, but afterwards they're sloppy. Plus, a useless waitress, more interested in getting the contacts of young men between drinks! I've never seen such behavior; is she there to work or to pick up and drink the business?

05/05/2024: Finally writing a review of my fabulous Battlefields tour with Jon last year! I’m so pleased I chose Jon from Old Blighty Battlefield tours (who also runs the tea rooms with his wife) to research and guide me on my very moving, personalized tour of the Somme area (including Pozieres & Bullecourt ) where my Australian grandfather fought in World War I (in the 22nd battalion and related Pioneers.) Jon tailored the tour to my needs but was also very flexible about where we went. (This was particularly important as I unfortunately only had one full day. I wish I could have spent at least two days seeing the area.) While I’d seen some of my grandfather’s army records beforehand, Jon researched his and his battalion’s movements thoroughly. It was very moving to often stand either on or close to, as well as see the very places where my grandfather would have stood, fought, dug trenches, camped etc, and to visit other sites such as the John Monash centre and towns where these men might have visited /stayed in when not in battle. With his deep knowledge of the history and local geography, Jon clearly explained what happened in various locations and the context, logistics etc. I highly recommend Jon as a highly informative, articulate guide and delightful person. I felt very comfortable doing a solo tour with him.
