Les meilleurs restaurants en Avignon

29/09/2024: At the end of September 2024, I spent a few days in Avignon and I chose the Mercure Avignon Center Palais des Papes. Essentially for its central location, next to the famous Palais des Papes, and also for its Privilege room with terrace. For the rest, I expected Mercure standards: friendly welcome, modern and functional room, simple but complete breakfast, concrete architecture style "60s-70s and often a good bar/restaurant (not this time because it is not there is no bar/restaurant in the hotel but we invite you to go to the Mercure Center Pont d'Avignon - just a stone's throw away - to have a welcome drink there; I was so well received there that I am there; returned for dinner and the meal at Racine was very good - thank you to the Racine team for these good times). But, the pinnacle was my Privilege room with this beautiful large terrace overlooking the Place du Palais and the Palais des Papes. Unbelievable, rarely seen, the most beautiful terrace in the very center of Avignon! Incredible, moving, edifying - I had the feeling of being able to touch the Palace -, impressive, inspiring, ... In short, an exceptional feeling of feeling like you were in the Vatican, on St. Peter's Square and on your own terrace! Unforgettable memory! And thank you again to the entire Mercure team for their kindness and helpfulness.

26/09/2024: After a very warm welcome on arrival, certainly a somewhat cramped room but the building is old... A desk was missing but at least a chair. We are to the right of the Papal Palace so a 3 minute walk from the congress is what I was looking for. We are right in the center with restaurants to go out. Public parking with a 20% discount

17/09/2024: Tout aurait pu être bien mais non…. Service désorganisé. On nous a clairement oublié. La table à côté de nous a eu le temps d’être servie et de terminer entrée et plat que nous n’avions même pas une carafe d’eau sur la table… au bout de plus de 45 minutes, et après avoir demander, les plats sont enfin arrivés mais froid évidemment. Aucune excuse, pas un mot. Nous avons payé et sommes partis.

12/09/2024: Nous sommes allées à la brasserie st Jean pour un déjeuner lors de notre séjour à Avignon. Très belle surprise ! Bon emplacement de brasserie juste en face des halles. Excellent rapport qualité-prix pour le menu 3 plats. Je recommande les linguines aux cèpes. Excellent accueil et service du jeune serveur Julien. Nous y retournerons sans problème.

28/09/2024: Well, it's like all motorway rest areas, there's a little bit of everything but everything is very expensive.

25/09/2024: We stopped at the autogrill restaurant very disappointed, requested rare, ultra-cooked flank steak, minced steak the same, raw fries and cold ratatouille. We had to re-microwave our food...not to mention the staff putting chairs up on tables, sweeping up and putting up a barrier to close off the area you are in while you eat!! As for the air in general, nothing to say, very clean toilet! In summary, we do not recommend the autogrill restaurant, it is better to have a sandwich…

30/08/2024: a shame half of the order was not received and the other inedible went all in the trash!! one of the worst McDonald's in France I think!!

30/08/2024: As soon as we entered we heard shouting, an unpleasant manager as possible. After ordering takeout we checked our order and all the fries were missing. So we went back to the McDonald's to ask for our fries, no problem, we got them. Then unwrapping our burgers, no sauces inside just two steaks piled high with bread. Other customers were complaining about a shortage in their order and the manager found nothing better than to yell at them??? Aside from this very unfriendly lady, the rest of the team is ok but seems overwhelmed and lacks organization.

27/08/2024: We came "accidentally" because we had 3 hours between two trains. It was magnificent. Excellent quality - quantity - price ratio. Everything was delicious, we indulged and paid around 50 euros for 4 people. Better to aim for quiet hours because every dish is prepared and I would say the wait would be long if it's full. The server was also great and super friendly

24/08/2024: Poor service. 1 hour wait for disappointing dishes. Lean dishes with few garnishes. To flee.

19/09/2024: Always friendly, and good quality products

12/09/2024: Very good bakery and a wide variety of snacks. Big downside for the nauseating smell in the toilets... After eating, it's enough to vomit... The staff was attentive when the problem was raised.

25/11/2024: Wir hatten Glück, an einem Mittwochabend ohne Reservierung einem Platz zu finden. Das Essen überraschte positiv: außergewöhnliche originelle Speisen, mit etwas asiatischem Einschlag, perfekt zubereitet, eine tolle Überraschung! Der Service war sehr individuell und persönlich uns zugewandt. Ein toller Abend, auch wenn es Herbst war und wir von dem schönen Innenhof nicht profitieren konnten. Die Preise waren nicht hoch, und jedenfalls war das Essen und Trinken des Geld wert.

05/11/2024: Domingo almuerzo, esquivando un poco la lluvia. Personal amable y servicial. Valor decente del menú. Los asados de cordero y pato eran muy buenos. Chips frescos. Buen vino de la casa. Nos quedamos a tomar café

22/01/2025: Very tasty eclair and the Café Grande Creme is also recommended. Cappuccino is a matter of taste, it is made with strong espresso.

24/12/2024: Small restaurant chosen at the last minute and very pleasant surprise. The team is super friendly and available. Simple and excellent cuisine. A little bonus for desserts. We had a rum baba and a lemon tart… Just perfect perfect. A delight. Go there with your eyes closed.

23/11/2024: Nous n’avons pas voulu commander un dessert eu égard à la lenteur du service. A la caisse le personnel s’est bien gardé de nous interroger sur notre satisfaction. Nous sommes partis très déçus.

25/10/2024: Cauchemar en cuisine ou caméra caché …. À fuir . Attente 1 h avant d être servi . Même pas de salade de bienvenue …. Les menus enfants non servies …. On a décidé de partir à la concurrence . Réponse de la gérante . On manque de personnel … aucun geste commercial ou d ´excuse…. C est regrettable , fidèle client de Buffalo qui au fil du temps , tout a décliné , le service ,la qualité des produits, la quantité…. Et l’envie de travailler des serveurs ….

27/08/2024: I spent a lot of time in this bar during my studies, the managers are the most humane people I have met and it feels amazing. For a drink, to eat or to play billiards or any other game, this is the neighborhood harbor where you can spend an excellent evening in Avignon. To say, I skimmed them all ahaha
