04/08/2026: Aside from the two very pleasant servers, the food was microwaved and the flavors were really not great. You barely had time to finish your two spring rolls before they brought your main course... And it was expensive for what it was!

27/07/2026: I loved coming to Papaye several times. It's a real hidden gem in the city center! The food is delicious, the service is incredibly friendly, and the prices are reasonable. You leave the restaurant feeling full and with a smile on your face!

11/05/2026: Authentic and delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, bo bun, and spring rolls, prepared with care. Spring rolls just like homemade. The bread for the Vietnamese sandwich comes from a bakery, not the mass-produced baguette from the supermarket. Good value for money. But what also impressed me was the hygiene and freshness of the food. The restaurant is always clean. A great place that I highly recommend. Thank you, cảm ơn.

30/07/2026: I've had the most inauthentic and worst pho ever—waited half an hour for the food, which was extremely small. Girls with small appetites didn't get enough to eat. There were no spices or vegetables that pho should have, and I don't understand why it took so long to prepare. The place smelled terrible. Also, the price was rised, but I still paid it as she's an old woman. Also, it looks unhygienic. You'll wonder if the tableware is clean.

21/07/2026: This small restaurant is run by an elderly woman who cooks alone. The atmosphere is simple, authentic, and warm: you truly feel like you're being invited to lunch at her home rather than in a restaurant. It's homemade food, which takes time to prepare. If you're in a hurry or looking for quick, impersonal service, this probably isn't the place for you. On the other hand, if you appreciate authentic places and enjoy taking the time to chat, I highly recommend this restaurant. The negative reviews seem to reflect expectations that simply don't align with the spirit of the place.

The dishes were delicious, generous, and prepared with care. The value for money is truly excellent: we left feeling completely satisfied thanks to the very generous portions. A fantastic find that I highly recommend!

12/07/2026: Since our usual restaurant was closed, we decided to try this one next door. Unfortunately, the pho didn't really taste like pho; the broth was mostly salty, lacking the depth of flavor we expected. We ordered a small bowl for our first experience, and luckily we did, because we would have regretted ordering the large size. It's a shame; we weren't impressed.

29/07/2026: We had lunch at La Bambouseraie on July 27, 2026. The welcome was very average. There were many empty tables. Not ordering wine was frowned upon by the waiter. A glass of wine brought a semblance of a smile back to his face, and he made sure everyone knew it. After that, his behavior became increasingly irritable. He loudly reminded us that he had an appointment at 2:45 PM. Other people were also asked to "hurry up"... He asked us what dessert we wanted... he practically decided that ice cream would be perfect, because he was getting more and more rushed! The other waiter was just as friendly as him. "I go to pay..." at which point, things suddenly shifted into "supersonic." We made our exit, thanking them and saying "goodbye." There was no response because they were no longer in the dining room. We used to come here often when we lived in L'Union, and the service was provided by two charming women. But that was then! Now the food is mediocre, and as for the atmosphere...no comment. Avoid it at all costs!

28/06/2026: There were three of us, and we arrived and were able to get a seat because there was plenty of room both inside and outside. We ate quite well! Everything was generally very tasty, except for the Caesar salad, which was just okay. I wouldn't order it again. They generally give you free tap water throughout France. The other two dishes my companions ordered were very tasty and substantial. As for the price, it was normal for the area; you can't expect much less for a meal. The atmosphere was relaxed, and we were able to go in and eat even though it was quite late, almost 3:00 PM, and they were about to close the kitchen. The waitress spoke to the chef and told us we could eat, that we were still within the time limit. It was a nice gesture on her part since we were the only ones there, and another table was about to pay. We really appreciated it! Overall, the experience was very good. It has a fairly large terrace, which is very pleasant if it's not unbearably hot like when we were there. If you're going to the nearby outlets, it's a good place to sit and eat. Although there are plenty of food options in the area, after doing some research on Google we decided this was the best choice, and it definitely was!

16/05/2026: The service was appalling. It was pouring rain, freezing cold, we were on a cycling trip, and we wanted to eat. The tarpaulin covering the outdoor tables was leaking everywhere. We wanted to put our bikes at the edge of the tarpaulin to protect them from the rain. A woman came out to tell us to remove them because it was detracting from the restaurant's image and might attract other cyclists who would bother the customers (given the weather, there weren't many other cyclists around to do their shopping!). Given the lack of compassion and kindness, we went elsewhere where we received a very warm welcome.

22/05/2026: Absolutely terrible. We left three-quarters of our plates unfinished. Be warned, the beer I was served was a year past its expiration date (the owner was informed, so if he serves you expired beer again, he can't claim he didn't notice). A very bad experience. My Vietnamese wife and I are very surprised by the positive reviews. Of course, it's cheaper than other "real" Asian restaurants, although the Tsintao beer is the same price as in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, but that's no excuse for serving inedible food.

09/04/2026: I go there regularly for a banh mi, and it's always simple but very good. The sauce could be slightly spicier for the spicy version, but I enjoy it every time. Always served quickly. I recommend it!
