29/03/2026: Unpretentious, simple, and very good food. I came to celebrate my birthday with my best friend during the summer season last year, and the welcome was fantastic. I have excellent memories of it, and the day I return to Châtel, whether on vacation or for work, I will be delighted to eat there again with loved ones. Because yes, the cuisine is simple and regional, and the staff and owners are top-notch, always smiling, kind, and professional. Thank you again, and see you very soon!

21/03/2026: Avoid at all costs! Just look at the reviews. We were seated on the terrace and waited 15 minutes only to be literally thrown out by the owner because it was time for table service. Why even seat us then? We understand the Google rating! And he's a liar, given the response: no complete sign, the waitress clearly told us to be seated when she was coming, and the replies to every negative review speak volumes about the kind of person the manager is.

22/03/2026: Very happy with this restaurant. The Savoyard fondue is amazing! The portions are generous. The service is quick and the staff is very attentive. The waitresses are cheerful and excellent. We just would have appreciated it if the salad had been included with the fondue... Thank you for this meal.

17/05/2026: I used to go to this kebab shop every lunchtime in high school. I returned 10 years later with a real sense of nostalgia and high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. My kebab was served at 11:50 p.m., and I was immediately told I had 10 minutes to eat before closing time. If eating in is no longer possible at that hour, it would make sense not to offer it. At midnight sharp, I was asked twice to leave. I pointed out the situation to the manager, without getting the slightest response. Zero sense of service, zero sense of business. A real disappointment for a place that held a special place in my memories.

09/05/2026: A simple, good kebab, not the most delicious in the world, but personally, it's where I go when I want a kebab. So I would recommend it.

06/06/2026: The hotel has everything you need. Luxury, spa, delicious restaurant, and amazing rooms! Our new favorite place to always return to.

06/04/2026: My mother-in-law had given us all a voucher for a meal at this restaurant. We were thrilled to be able to go, but when my mother-in-law called to make a reservation, to our surprise, we were told that the establishment didn't accept groups. Thinking it was a mistake, my sister-in-law called back for an explanation, and again, she was told that groups were no longer catered for, but that we could go to La Barathe, the other restaurant which, while certainly very good, isn't the gourmet restaurant we had our hearts set on. Faced with these very vague explanations (if we're going by that logic, two people are considered a group…), I decided to call as well and asked to speak to a manager. He then assured me that it was simply because there was no space available that evening and that we had been offered another night (which is quite true; we were offered a Thursday evening instead of Saturday, as groups were apparently accepted during the week – except, of course, that people are usually available on weekends…). When this explanation was given to me, and since groups were apparently finally accepted on Saturdays, I expressed my understanding, explaining that we had clearly misunderstood each other, and simply asked to book for another Saturday evening. And then, once again, surprise, surprise, I was informed that, following the (very factual and unbiased) opinion expressed by my sister-in-law, we were no longer welcome. I remain shocked by the lack of professionalism of some, who still dare to comment on my sister-in-law's review by distorting the facts and claiming that another date had been offered without specifying that only weekday dates were possible, not weekends. Strange, very strange… It's a shame, as we're from the area and often recommended this restaurant, but, as they clearly stated, we'll most certainly be better received elsewhere :)

28/11/2025: This place is filthy, the meat is plastic-tasting, and the fries are frozen and bought from the supermarket, which they then resell at exorbitant prices. Not to mention the unbearable owner, her lack of professionalism, and the unsanitary conditions—you wouldn't be surprised to find yourself sharing fries with a cockroach. Even the public restrooms at the Carrefour supermarket are more hygienic and pleasant than this restaurant. For the bravest among you, who don't mind poor hygiene and have plenty of money to spend on substandard food, I highly recommend it. For those of you with a bit more civility, I suggest you travel a few extra kilometers and eat somewhere more suitable for a proper restaurant. Sincerely.

13/01/2026: Passing through Seyssel, we stopped at this restaurant which pleasantly surprised us with its short but carefully curated menu and attentive service. The foie gras was very good, the meat was cooked to perfection, and the fried calamari was excellent. The wine list, however, was a bit limited, with few organic wines available. The steak could have been served piping hot, and the shallot sauce was rather bland, but that didn't stop us from having a lovely evening and enjoying a delicious meal. I highly recommend it. The terrace overlooking the Rhône is superb on sunny days.

01/03/2026: Got charged 64 euros for a portion of chicken pieces with onion rings and 3 drinks xD said that there was something on the list I didn’t have and he said it was subtracted, did the maths after and apparently paid for a main and a beer I didn’t have. Great maths people

17/02/2026: Booked this place at the last minute as our other accommodation informed us they had bedbugs - obviously a common problem in Europe. Location was good, bus goes right past the door and the train station is about 5 - 10 minute walk away. Breakfast was basic but good, help yourself so no shortage. The room was fine no issues. We ate in the restaurant nearly every night, good value. A lot of the complaints seem to be about the building, it's a 150 years old so what do you expect? Staff were helpful, self check in which worked fine. It's a perfectly good place as long as you're not one of these moaners who what to pay bottom dollar and get 5 star service. I would happily stay here again.

28/06/2026: The food was as delicious as the owners were unpleasant, and I can assure you we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, but we're not prepared to pay for such a deplorable atmosphere and service! We come here to relax, not to put up with the moods of these two cantankerous women!

27/06/2026: We went there for the second time today and we'll never set foot in there again! The welcome was disrespectful, unfriendly, and there were no smiles. The items are very expensive. We wanted to eat, but there was only one table with four people outside; everything was empty. My partner wanted a salad, but he misread the name, and the owner immediately corrected him. Then I told her I wanted a slice of ginger cake. We hadn't even finished our drink order when she immediately said, "You're supposed to eat here?" We gladly agreed. At that point, she told us it wouldn't be possible, miss, that we were only having a snack. So basically, get out, you're annoying me, you're not spending enough! Seriously, how can people like that run a business with so little kindness and consideration? It's a place to avoid at all costs; it's not worth spending a single euro there!

02/06/2026: Just let’s say that 134€ pour an Ibis Styles, it’s outrageous! Especially in Annecy le Vieux. I paid the day before 124€ at a 4-star from ALL Group in Grenoble, nothing to compare with: The Park Hotel. Very disappointing. To top it all off, just stay away from the restaurant, way under staffed and had to wait super long just to get a waiter over. To conclude: way under the standards Ibis Styles usually gives, especially when you are charged that much money.

22/04/2026: The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but the new rooms we discovered were very well-equipped. Thank you again for your kindness despite the staff's working conditions. I highly recommend it.

03/04/2026: At the bottom of the piste. Maybe it was situational, but the most deliciously fresh pint I’ve had in some time. Amazing service as well.
