17/02/2026: The food was very good, but the service could be improved.
The main course and dessert were very good, with a special mention for the dessert, which was truly excellent.
However, the meal started somewhat disappointingly. The waiter refused to change the dessert on the set menu, even offering an extra charge, and then also refused to replace the broccoli with a simple handful of fries. It's a shame, as a little flexibility would have been appreciated.
I even pointed out that there's no shortage of good restaurants in Pau, implying that this kind of rigidity might discourage us from returning. To his credit, the waiter later made up for it by offering us a plate of fries, a gesture we appreciated.
17/02/2026: A meal with friends for a birthday. Perfect welcome, very pleasant staff. A good selection from the à la carte menu. Beautifully presented dishes, fresh and seasonal produce. Our taste buds were delighted. Highly recommended! You can go there without hesitation.

12/12/2025: Absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it. It was my first time eating at Refik, but it had been recommended to me for a long time. I don't regret stopping by at all. Everything is homemade, and the quality and taste are top-notch. I'm a huge fan, it's truly perfect.
06/12/2025: Too expensive and stingy with the portion size of the galettes. Go to Anatole's in Bordeaux and you'll see what I mean...plus, it takes forever if there's a line ahead of you. They didn't use the ingredients I ordered, but otherwise, yes, the quality is there, including the excellent fries. What a shame!

21/02/2026: A restaurant that has lost its luster. The local evening menu is still quite expensive considering what you're served and how it's served. The menu is a downgraded, second-rate offering… very disappointing for regulars… no petits fours, you pour your own wine, the new head waiter is arrogant… too much pretension in the unreduced price.
16/02/2026: We had a relaxing stay at the Parc Beaumont Hotel & Spa in Pau, on our way from Bordeaux to the Atlantic Coast. The hotel was very nice, and the food and service were excellent. There is a beautiful park adjacent to the hotel, which even has swan families! The indoor pool was refreshing as well. It is a relatively short drive to the Pyrenees Mountains, which were magnificent (albeit a somewhat harrowing drive!). We hope to visit again.

We came this weekend when the weather was beautiful, and we completely understand that it was very busy and that table service was no longer possible. So we went to order directly at the bar.
However, when we ordered three half-pints of lager, the waiter pointedly sighed in front of us, rolled his eyes, and said, "Seriously?" This reaction surprised and made us uncomfortable.
It's a shame, because the place is nice, but the welcome and attitude of the staff are just as important as the rest of the experience. This isn't the first time this has happened.
01/03/2026: We came for a drink on a Sunday at lunchtime. The waiter was alone, serving two terraces.
Besides being very welcoming, he was quick. Thank you to him, we had a very pleasant time.

The servers are adorable and always remain helpful and smiling even if they can sometimes be overwhelmed by work!
27/10/2024: If on the slate easel it says AT THE HAPPY HOUR BAR THE PINT OF GUINESS €5 and when you are served at the table it is €8 But when the online menu the pint of Guiness is €7 and not €8 as I paid!
That’s a big difference and the 3 different prices for the same pint of Guiness still smell like a calculated scam! And everyone accepts because these shameless unscrupulous traders take advantage of the fact that people no longer discuss these scams, because they come there to spend a moment with drinks where the family and no one wants to make a remark for fear of spoiling the evening for all !
And what’s more, €1 doesn’t seem like it but it’s money and €3 difference means 60% more for the same consumption!
You will appreciate seeing how “at the Bar” is written. Palois consumers should not let this happen! Even in Paris they respect people more

27/09/2024: It’s a bakery that I love, everything is very good at a reasonable price but this afternoon I was very disappointed. I had a chorizo pizza and there was a long hair in the tomato sauce that went all the way across the slice of pizza. And usually when we don't take a bottle of water we always have a small glass of water with it, but this afternoon I didn't take one and I didn't have a glass of water I so I had to deprive myself of drinking… I hope there will be an improvement.

01/10/2024: The burger was good. Black bread smelled different from white bread. I'm a little disappointed, because I thought I'd at least have salad inside. The fries were good, but way too much. The oil was not properly absorbed by a paper towel. As for the burger, I find it a little expensive for bread, chicken, two slices of cheddar and a few red onions. On the other hand, the chicken was very good.
We just need to review the price!
The dessert was excellent, I have nothing to complain about.
