Even though the kitchen was already closed, the incredibly hospitable owner prepared two bowls especially for us – one with teriyaki chicken and one with satay chicken. Both were fresh, wonderfully seasoned, and absolutely delicious. We especially appreciated that he took the time to prepare something for us even though the kitchen was already closed. 02/07/2026: We booked one night at this bed and breakfast. The place is pleasant, although the garden could be better landscaped. There was no air conditioning in the room, but a ceiling fan, which wasn't so bad. The host was friendly and helpful; however, we didn't have the pleasure of getting to know the hostess, Miranda. She avoided us throughout our stay, even when my husband wanted to order two glasses of wine from her. She went to get her husband instead. 🤔 We weren't able to eat at the bed and breakfast: I had booked meals, but at the last minute, we were informed that they wouldn't be serving food that day.

21/06/2026: We were there two years ago. The moment you open your car door, you hear the rippling sound of the river—so soothing! What a beautiful place; you become completely zen there. Very sweet owners, always ready to help. Super cozy spot for breakfast. Beautiful and clean rooms. So: 5 stars!! We will definitely be back.

03/02/2026: A very good restaurant with a lovely terrace. Mâcon, delicious calf's head, Loire red wine, very successful sweetbreads with porcini mushrooms, and a very good vanilla soufflé with chocolate pastilles.

28/12/2025: Excellent restaurant. Refined setting. They offer a set menu for €65 and another for €45. À la carte dishes are also available. The wine list is classic. The portions are generous and beautifully presented. The flavors and seasonings are just right. The service is professional and attentive. We were served a little too quickly for my liking. The "mid-course drink" offered after the starter would have been better served after the main course. It's a wonderful restaurant that I highly recommend. However, I suggest calling ahead as it seems the restaurant might be closing. Happy retirement to the owner...

21/08/2026: We were seated, 25 minutes later, and our orders hadn't been taken, not even drinks. We went to eat elsewhere.

19/08/2026: Dinner for two on the terrace. The food was good and reasonably priced. Large terrace. Unfortunately, as is often the case during busy periods, the disorganized service was a serious drawback. Patience was required to order and even to get dessert... Otherwise, a place worth a visit.

23/10/2026: Okay, it's not haute cuisine, but there's enough to satisfy my two children, and for €35 with unlimited hot and cold drinks too, I've never seen anything like it.

22/10/2026: AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT! The food was questionable, cold, and tasteless, making me sick. The staff, both cooks and servers, were unpleasant and didn't meet customer expectations. The chefs didn't cook the meat the way customers wanted it; it was cold, and the cooking times were inconsistent. In short, I strongly advise against setting foot in this mediocre establishment. Don't waste your money on such a business.

22/05/2026: We stop here every time we go to the Limousin region. The hotel is very well located, the prices are reasonable, and the restaurant has several set menus and is very busy. The staff is very attentive.

14/09/2026: To all the prudes, uptight types, and other delicate souls, please don't enter. You'd feel out of place in this quirky, friendly, whimsical, and ultimately quite pleasant spot. This time capsule offers delicious homemade cuisine at very reasonable prices, a warm welcome, and an amazing selection of whiskies for true connoisseurs. At Jacques's, the owner is Scottish and his name is Graham 😉.
