The place is lively, the clientele friendly, the regulars welcoming. You feel right at home. My favorite neighborhood bar, I come back every time. 🍺

08/06/2026: Baragwin is a truly wonderful place. We dined there for the first time on Saturday evening. The welcome and service were very professional. There was no wait, and the staff were very attentive, offering suggestions without being pushy – a real plus these days. The quality of the food was equally impressive, with a small menu featuring dishes made from fresh, seasonal ingredients. The cooking and preparation were spot-on. Well done, we'll be back! 10/08/2026: Gnocchi alla Sorrentina arrived with burrata covered in pesto that wasn't listed among the ingredients, with some of the garlic ruined, and penne del sud covered in a sheaf of arugula that wasn't listed among the ingredients. Poor service, a long wait for menus and drinks, and the service manager didn't even pay attention to us, not even a greeting upon leaving. Perhaps, having realized that as Italians, we know our own cuisine and given the negative reviews from our fellow countrymen, which unfortunately we saw after dinner, we came across as unwelcoming?

04/08/2026: I had a ham, speculoos, and burrata pizza here with my friends who ordered pasta and risotto. It was delicious, thank you! The prices are reasonable and the Affligem beer is good too. It's ideally located at the commercial port.

15/06/2026: I don't understand the negative reviews. It was my first time there today, and the person who took my order was lovely and friendly, despite a busy period he was managing single-handedly. The pizza was absolutely HUGE and generous, with the perfect portion size. I'll definitely be back.

01/06/2026: Ordered two pizzas: one salmon and one magarita, requesting extra toppings for both. The result: two pizzas piled high with cheese and practically no toppings. I strongly advise against this restaurant, which only sells cheese pizzas because the toppings are so minimal.

10/05/2026: This establishment has declined over the years; the waiter (or owner?) is completely condescending to people; he should pay attention to how he treats them...

08/05/2026: A very bad experience. We had simply come for a drink and a crepe and Italian ice cream, which was advertised as being available continuously, with the machine visible inside the establishment. When I asked for Italian ice cream, the waiter told me they no longer made it and that we only had to order much more expensive sundaes. The result: a mediocre sundae, clearly made with industrial ingredients, tasteless, and a frankly disappointing butter-sugar crepe as well. The most unacceptable thing is that after paying, we saw several customers being served… Italian ice cream. So either the waiter lied to us, or he deliberately pushed us to order the most expensive desserts. I find this kind of practice very dishonest. When you add to that the quality of the products, which doesn't match the prices at all, it makes for an experience to avoid.

25/07/2026: One of the great aquariums of the world. However, there think they should advertise that a major hall is closed presently. This was very disappointing. It’s a huge complex and needs half a day **at least** to see it all. There is a very strong focus on education and one of the halls (Océanautes) is absolutely dedicated to educating children at primary school level. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a museum or wildlife centre as laser-focused on education. It is apparently very busy much of the day but if you get a two-day pass (Océan Pass) you can go in late on (say 4pm) and there are very few people there. One disappointment was the lack of English (or any foreign language books) for sale in the large shop: this surely is a missed commercial opportunity.

25/07/2026: Visiting after the reopening of the tropical pavilion, we were disappointed: the focus has been placed on screens, small, medium, and very large. It was sad to see that pixelated fish on giant screens serve as an aquarium in the children's area... We saw everything in less than an hour and a half and regret that the ticket price remains so high for what it has become.

28/07/2026: At the port of Brest! L’Effet Mer offers a truly pleasant setting with a view of the port and a terrace, ideal for enjoying a drink or a meal in a friendly atmosphere. The welcome is warm, the staff are smiling, and the brasserie-style cuisine offers simple, generous, and well-prepared dishes. A great place to spend a pleasant moment overlooking the sea, whether with family, friends, or simply for a relaxing break. A Brest address that I highly recommend! Convenient for workers, a real break.

16/03/2026: Coq'inn Kergaradec is a modern and very clean self-service restaurant. They offer a wide variety of starters, desserts, and main courses (around ten main courses). Most of their dishes are homemade. The food is good and served in generous portions. The staff is friendly and even pleasant. A tray consisting of a starter, a main course, cheese, a dessert, a bread roll, a small butter, and a Coke cost me less than €20. It's packed every lunchtime, but there will always be a seat for you, and it's undoubtedly the best value for money cafeteria in Brest.

18/02/2026: Good self-service restaurant with very professional staff, especially with children. They brought trays right to us; we were a party of 10 including children, and a table was set up immediately without us even asking. Once again, bravo and hats off to the staff of this establishment; they truly demonstrate their expertise.

09/07/2026: The place is small but cozy, the service is quite quick, and the food is really good. I had a café crème which was delicious, and a crêpe, all for a very reasonable price. I'll be back 😉

20/06/2026: I was shown, and frankly incredible, a wide variety of choices, and what's more, the crepes are customizable. I highly recommend it.

02/07/2026: What a shame! It took 25 minutes for two paninis on a Thursday at 2:20 PM. And then, most importantly, the salmon panini—I really don't recommend it! There was only one measly slice of salmon in the whole sandwich; it was practically just a salad sandwich. And the €2.50 extra charge was just for one more tiny slice. As for the bread, it was so dry it was probably not fresh. A real rip-off, especially at those prices!
