13/11/2025: For over two years, I'd been walking past this restaurant, thinking, "One day, I'll have to try it." Well, I finally did—and what a pleasant surprise! A warm welcome, a friendly and attentive owner, a cozy atmosphere where you feel right at home, and above all, delicious, flavorful, and generous homemade food. A truly wonderful discovery that I wholeheartedly recommend!

16/01/2026: Delicious cocktail. The dishes are excellent and perfectly paired with the wines. The chocolate fondant is sublime. A visit and a reservation will transport you to another world at this restaurant. Keep up the good work and thank you for this wonderful experience.

01/02/2026: Fantastic restaurant. Very clean and excellent service. The dishes are magnificent and delicious. So much flavor! Simply incredible. We had a wonderful time. And we will definitely be back to try the other dishes. (The scallops as a starter and the duck breast as a main course were truly exceptional). Excellent wine recommendations (I personally enjoyed a very good sweet white wine). Well done to the team and the chef!

18/10/2025: We were looking for a small bistro to take a break on the way to our vacation. We came across this place and we recommend it 150%. Family atmosphere and very friendly staff. Very good homemade cakes. I recommend it. 🥰

03/07/2025: We were staying locally for the night and desperate to find somewhere to eat after a long day. We were delighted that we found this restaurant. Fabulous food and really reasonably priced for the Auvergne. We ended up chatting to the Greek chef, and his French wife, who both have extensive experience. They are both lovely, and we wish them well with their enterprise. We will be looking for an excuse to come back this way again! Highly recommend.

15/01/2026: We often come here for lunch. It's very good. Fresh, well-prepared food! Laurence is lovely and welcoming. It's a very good restaurant (special mention for the hot 'n' roll).

08/11/2025: We had a wonderful family birthday celebration. The meal was delicious; every dish was a feast for the eyes and the stomach, with a touch of Northern French cuisine! The staff is fantastic! Go without hesitation, you won't be disappointed!

02/11/2025: Excellent traditional restaurant! There were four of us without a reservation on Sunday lunchtime, and we absolutely loved the pike-perch fillets and the Charolais beef with Bleu d'Auvergne cheese – truly delicious, right down to the desserts! The price was reasonable for the quality. Well done!

10/12/2025: Excellent restaurant, beautifully presented, with high-quality ingredients. The staff was pleasant, and the owner was very friendly and funny. We highly recommend it.

02/12/2025: We ordered the €45 set menu. The price-quality-quantity ratio was EXCESSIVE. Starters were small, with very little foie gras, and the foie gras and starters together were rather bland. Main courses: dry veal, another dish... 2 scallops + 1 endive... and 2 tablespoons of mixed vegetables. We do not recommend it.

16/11/2025: A wonderful experience after a long walk along the banks of the Allier River. We received a very warm welcome, with smiles despite the late hour. We enjoyed a delicious salad and delightful desserts: their crepe cake is divine! There's a view of the Allier from the dining room, and in the summer there's a large terrace. I highly recommend this excellent place!

13/10/2025: My husband treated me to a weekend in Vichy with a "travel" dinner and a night at the hotel for my birthday. We chose to have dinner in the evening: the meal was excellent, and we had the chance to tour the kitchens during the service, which was a wonderful experience. A few negative points, however: • The dishes were served a little too quickly, which cut short the enjoyment of the meal. • At the beginning of the service, I was asked my wine pairing preferences. I specified that I didn't like red wine, and they confirmed that white would be available. Unfortunately, the instruction was clearly not passed on: I was served two glasses of red, which I declined, with no offer of replacement. • It's also a shame that coffee isn't included in the "travel" menu. Regarding the room, we had requested breakfast in the room. At 10:00 a.m., we had to call reception, who were waiting for us downstairs. They were finally able to bring it up, but it took us a bit of time, which was a shame. Overall, we have very fond memories of this stay. This was our second visit, and we'll be happy to return next time, at another time of year, to discover new seasonal dishes.

03/10/2025: Thank you to the entire team at the beautiful Décoret establishment for allowing us to have such a pleasant time yesterday during a lunch that we would describe as memorable. Not a single false note from starter to dessert. Impeccable service, precise explanations of the dishes, and perfectly balanced flavors and tastes on the plate. The icing on the cake was that we were able to see the work that goes into the kitchen by having the chance to chat with the chef. We are in awe.... Having the chance to compare ourselves with certain Michelin-starred establishments, we don't understand how such a place hasn't yet received its second star. We simply hope that this error will be corrected in 2026 by the Red Guide. Thank you, Chef, and sincere congratulations to you and your entire team.

15/11/2025: Today, Saturday, November 15th, my friend Marielle introduced me to this fabulous cuisine. The dishes were absolutely delicious and refined, simply breathtaking! The sauces were excellent and intriguing... the presentation was impeccable... truly magical! I highly recommend this establishment if you want a truly delightful meal!

13/08/2025: A wonderful discovery during a stay in Vichy. A very fine dish, a refreshing prosecco aperitif, a delicious rosé, a tasty dessert, a discreet and pleasant couple of restaurant owners, a lovely, quiet dining room—we loved Papilles!
