08/04/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant while visiting Martigues. The recommendations from various guidebooks displayed outside drew us in, and they were well-deserved. We had lunch for two on the terrace. The setting is superb, charming, and very peaceful. The staff is highly competent and friendly. We opted for the set menu (starter + main course). An explosion of flavors awaited us from the very first bite of the tapenade served with our aperitif, followed by the starter: (cold minestrone with delicious tomato sorbet). The main course (fish of the day) was perfect. If you're ever in the area, go without hesitation; you won't be disappointed.

18/04/2026: We came to eat at Quai des Pirates this April. The welcome was friendly. The service was excellent. The food was very good 👌🏻. The seafood was a delight, very fresh and beautifully presented. We had a very good time and recommend the establishment. Thank you for this lovely experience.

15/04/2026: I'm going to tell you what I think of this restaurant: the owner is unfriendly and very unpleasant, plus you don't eat fresh food, the fries are frozen, the mussels are really not fresh at all, and on top of that, very expensive for very dry mussels. I strongly advise against going to this restaurant.

10/04/2026: A very good experience at Maritima in Martigues. The welcome was warm and the setting pleasant, ideal for a relaxing time. I opted for mussels and fries, which were well-prepared and delicious, with generous portions. The service was efficient and friendly. A real plus: dogs are welcome, which is especially appreciated. I highly recommend it!

05/03/2026: We ordered a prawn platter and a grilled outdoor platter on Sunday evening, March 1st, with my husband and a friend, and all three of us suffered from severe indigestion on Monday. We were sick all day! We will not be returning and advise against this restaurant, which, although it had a good waitress, is not clean and must have served us refrozen or not-so-fresh fish.

22/04/2026: Calling a €40 menu "fine cuisine," as indicated in the Google preview, seems excessive. The value for money is poor. It's noisy. Displaying the origin of all meats, as required by French regulations, doesn't seem to be readily apparent to customers.

20/04/2026: Sunday evening I discovered this restaurant with friends. The pizzas are delicious, the waitress was very professional and friendly, and the chocolate fondant was absolutely divine! The view of the sea is breathtaking. I'm usually a bit picky, but I have nothing negative to say here. Congratulations to the whole team! 👍👍👍👍👍

22/02/2026: We are regulars at this place and have always been satisfied. However, there was a slight issue today. There was a minor hiccup in the kitchen (which we understand, as it's off-season, so the team might not be fully settled or experienced yet), which wouldn't have warranted a review from us if it weren't for the waitress's behavior/reaction. We arrived between 12:15 and 12:30. Our order was taken and the initial service was fine. The children ate, and we had our aperitifs with a charcuterie board, which was also fine. The rest of the meal was underway (it seemed). We entertained the children, went to play on the beach, and ordered another glass of wine while we waited – no problem so far. The wait got a little longer, but still no problem; the weather was nice, the children had eaten, it was Sunday, and we waited patiently. After an hour's wait, it's true that it's starting to feel a bit long, but we remain relaxed and patient without complaining, because the service was exceptional and the Sunday was exceptionally beautiful; perhaps they weren't expecting so many people. So we say nothing and continue to entertain the children and wait. An hour and a half passes, and still nothing is happening, so we simply decide to get up, pay, and leave. At the register, the waitress understands that we want to leave. No apology, we don't react, and she addresses the kitchen loudly: "We're canceling order 43, they're leaving, but it's not your fault!!!" and she shouts this openly in front of us. Okay, we understand that perhaps the kitchen staff is new and getting used to things, but does implying that it's not the kitchen's fault mean that it's our fault as customers? Then, a polite exchange took place at the checkout where we told our friends, "No, it's for us. We're the ones who told you to come because it was nice, but indeed, we might not come back 😅." To which the waitress had the nerve to reply, "Well, that's fine by us, madam, because it suits us too if you don't come again!" Even though, just 5 minutes earlier, she had agreed to be paid in cash because it suited them (which we didn't mention, being former shopkeepers ourselves, because we could have also reacted and paid by card). Following this, we were still slightly annoyed. It was a lovely, sunny Sunday, which could have been perfect if we had eaten (and even then, it didn't bother us too much since the children had eaten), but to imply that the problem was the customers (who didn't eat) and that it's better they don't come back (we still left around €100 for not eating) and that there's been no self-reflection or apology from them, we have to admit it's a shame. We always enjoyed coming in previous years and find it regrettable to react this way, especially since we were the first to understand that the service might be unreliable on a beautiful sunny February day. Such an unfortunate reaction doesn't exactly encourage us to return. Quandu ùn ci hè piacè, ùn ci hè nunda.

23/04/2026: A meal with friends and a first experience for us. A very warm welcome, very generous portions, and attentive service. Kir and port wine were served as aperitifs with appetizers for four people. This isn't always the case in restaurants. In any case, it's a thoughtful touch and a plus compared to other establishments. The duck breast was well-cooked and so generous that I had to ask my partner for help to finish it. The sea bream fillet for my partner was also very good. Beautiful presentation of the dishes. Highly recommended.
