01/05/2026: This morning, Friday, May 1, 2026, my brother and I stopped for coffee. I should mention that I am blind. When I went to pay, I held out a bill to the waitress, who didn't even glance at it. We called her over to pay. She was very unpleasant and rude to me. When she came back, she just threw the change on the table. I told her I was blind and asked her to show me some respect. She didn't appreciate that. We will never set foot in the Chocolaterie de Chartres again. The service was terrible and there was no politeness whatsoever. Avoid at all costs.

23/04/2026: Unfortunately, Le Serpente doesn't live up to the reviews. It's well-located, sure, but that's not everything, far from it! The aperitif cocktail was tasteless and lacked alcohol. The dishes served were subpar and under-seasoned. In short, our evening with friends was marred by unpleasantness. Our comments were either ignored or poorly received, with staff in a bad mood rather than focused on customer service, so avoid this place! I gave it one extra star for the service because our waitress was lovely; a big thank you to her for keeping a smile on her face despite the reprimands from the rest of the team, who didn't even acknowledge our departure—unacceptable! We won't be returning anytime soon.

22/04/2026: The restaurant is conveniently located near Chartres Cathedral, which is probably its main advantage. The food is quite average. The waiter mixed up our drinks and later brought crepes with the wrong filling, though both were eventually corrected. The toilets were not very clean, and we had to wait quite a long time for our drinks, while other guests who had already ordered food seemed to receive theirs much faster.

30/12/2025: I can't imagine a better experience in France than the one we had at Le Parvis. The location is amazing, and the building is nicely updated without sacrificing any of its historic charm. The staff was friendly and helpful and provided a first-rate breakfast that was one of the highlights of our trip.

23/02/2026: It's a shame zero stars isn't possible because it was truly the worst experience of my life. One word: run away! I absolutely do not recommend this establishment, which is filthy and staffed with dishonest people. We booked for two nights. To begin with, the key wasn't in the locker when we arrived. We had to find our own way to the room, which was already open, with the key inside. The first night, my 18-month-old daughter became seriously ill because the heating only warmed about 2 cm of the room. The bed was freezing, and using sheets as a duvet in February was appalling. Furthermore, the hotel has never been cleaned since it opened; we found dust and hair everywhere. The room was so cold we fell asleep with our coats on. It was impossible for us to stay another night, so we requested a refund. The receptionist asked for our bank details (RIB) because even she, upon entering the room, remarked, "Oh yes, indeed, it's a penguin room..." We sent the bank details, and to this day, nothing. Today we contacted the establishment, and the woman told us there would be no refund since we didn't stay the night. Before leaving, she assured us she would take care of it. Truly the worst experience ever!!!

18/02/2026: The room was very rustic with only the bare essentials. The soundproofing needs improvement (I didn't sleep a wink all night due to footsteps, furniture being moved at 3 a.m., and constant coming and going on the very noisy stairs). Remember to bring your own shower gel; it's not provided in this Airbnb. The only redeeming feature was the pleasant common areas, but the pool room was too small to play properly (I had to cut the cue in half in three-quarters of the places to be able to play). This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.

16/02/2026: We recommend this restaurant. My wife was feeling unwell, so we had to leave during our meal. We took away the rest of our food, which was kindly packed up by the staff. They were very understanding and responsive. Thank you!

15/02/2026: We were probably the wrong customers at the wrong time (Valentine's Day set menu). My wife suffers from a severe digestive issue, and I had specified the dietary restrictions. The result was monkfish cooked in cream and potato pancakes with butter, despite assurances to the contrary. There was no one listening to us, a 20-minute wait for service, and clearly no one wanted to come over to inquire about the situation. We left sad and disappointed after a Valentine's Day meal in a place with a good reputation.

28/11/2025: We arrived at the terrace yesterday for a hot drink. A waiter came out with his tray to clear a table next to ours and then left without a word. No hello, nothing. It used to be our go-to spot. But that was then. What a shame.
