10/08/2024: We have dined here each year with few breaks for a quarter century since it was a somewhat run-down auberge du lac run for water skiers and have greatly enjoyed watching it develop into a lovely secluded place with a great and spacious lakeside view, very good food, imaginatively put together and beautifully presented and a warm welcome.

13/06/2024: repas très fin et de qualité, belles présentations ,menu du jour a 19 euro tout a fait exceptionnel cadre très agréable intérieur et extérieur personnel proche du client un restaurant comme on en trouve plus beaucoup

22/09/2024: Had a great lunch here, sitting outside in the pretty square. The Maître d' speaks perfect English (with a strong US accent!) and was able to explain the finer points of the menu. Closes for the winter months but definitely looking forward to returning next year.

19/09/2024: We booked this hotel over the phone. We arrived late in the afternoon and had dinner. Very kindly welcomed by the landlady who took us to our spacious, clean and well-equipped room (newly renovated!). We went down for dinner. The menu offered included 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts to choose from. After some advice from the waiter, very pleasant and friendly, knowing his dishes well, we placed our order. And what a surprise it was a dinner full of flavors, an explosion in the mouth which exalted the right mix of spices and a Limousin meat cooked to perfection accompanied by small vegetables which went well with this beautiful piece of meat!!. All the praised products were fresh and cooked by the Chef 🧑‍🍳 Edith, the boss!!. It was such a beautiful and good place that we had lunch there on Sunday afternoon. We highly recommend Douce Demeure in Mortemart, the only village classified as "the most beautiful village in France in Haute Vienne!!. See you soon for another "gastronomic" stopover!!."

31/07/2024: Un Accueil chaleureux de Madame Bertranet, Une Brigade en salle efficace, de très bonne humeur et bienveillante, Une Cuisine soignée - recherchée sans jamais s'égarer. Qu'il est bon de côtoyer de vrais professionnels de l'hôtellerie restauration française. Une demeure remarquable et parfaitement entretenue. Bref : Une vraie pause hors du temps. Quel travail ! Nous avons trouvé ici nos habitudes. Bien respectueusement. Cyril B.

26/07/2024: Nous avons mangé le midi à la brasserie en extérieur à côté de l'étang. On est à l'ombre c'est très agréable. Le service et l'accueil sont parfaits. Nous avons pris le menu 3 plats. Tout est divin et copieux. Les cannellonis de langoustes sont d'une finesse comme le risotto de lotte. L'agneau estbien préparé gouteux mais pas gras. Le foie gras est tres parfumé. Les 2 crêpes aux poires sont surprenantes de délicatesse, la tartelette amande d'une légèreté avec sa boule de glace extraordinaire. Pensez à réserver de préférence. Nous avons aimé.

07/10/2024: I discovered this place and really enjoyed the cozy place under archaeological vaults under subdued light, very few people [unfortunately], very friendly atmosphere where I was able to get to know the manager of the place by singing together a few songs. Affordable prices for drinks...I would go back and bring some nice people there. Gipsy.
