At Coqui Thau, the local character is evident. Oyster farmers for generations, we offer the chance to enjoy ultra-fresh products right by the water!
Our day in Marseillan concluded with a visit to the first French vermouth distillery, located on the port of Marseillan. A wonderful family day out, thank you.
03/07/2026: You can eat in (reservations required) or take away oysters, mussels, clams, and more. The products are incredibly fresh since it's sourced directly from the producer. I've been buying my seafood here for years, and I've never had a problem. It's a family business.
Tonight, we had a lovely time dining in at the restaurant.
The restaurant is charming, located on the edge of the Thau Lagoon, with a magnificent view ❤️. It's authentic.
The welcome is warm and professional, with staff attentive to customers and eager to ensure we have a pleasant experience.
The prices are very reasonable and affordable.
I highly recommend Coquí Thau to everyone...

21/07/2026: As regulars for years, we're never disappointed by the ice cream, cocktails, and the set menu with a charcuterie and cheese board and wine, which is also excellent value for money. One small drawback: the music style and artists have barely changed in 30 years. Evenings with more modern musical styles would be appreciated, even just once a week.

17/07/2026: This is our second time here... it's a must!
An aperitif of Noilly Prat and champagne was delicious!
The €45 menu (4 courses): everything was excellent! Special mention for the shrimp and oysters Florentine. The leg of lamb was perfectly prepared, as was the monkfish.
And what can I say about the orange blossom crème brûlée? A delight.
Impeccable service and excellent wine recommendations. We can't wait to go back to the south of France to go again.
A sure bet.

16/05/2026: A wonderful discovery! On a day when the wind completely prevented us from having lunch outside, we stepped inside this restaurant. The atmosphere is refined and pleasant, with piano music playing softly in the background.
The service is attentive and discreet.
From the bluefin tuna tartare with its delicately grilled tentacles to the selection of fine cheeses and the citrus lemon tart—everything is delicious! A truly delightful experience.

The bad points:
a) FYI, there's an extra 0.50 cent charge per drink after 8:30 PM.
b) Service not as good as at the Neptune.
c) Milkshakes not fresh enough, not blended enough.
d) Frozen waffles
25/07/2026: We are regulars as we live in Marseillan, Thursday evening for the second time we were very disappointed with the ice creams and especially the 2 peach Melba the cups were half empty the decoration of the ice cream shabby we were looking for the peach, very disappointing.

31/07/2026: Let’s start with the positive point: the gastronomy. The food was excellent, we had very tasty sardines with chips cooked in duck oil, the “meal of the day”: roasted courgettes, rice with safran, yummy bacon and perfectly cooked egg, a platter with charcuterie, local cheese. All was tasteful, with local products, original, warm with tapas’ style.
However, the service was not great: the owner took a while to come and take our orders and when we asked a question about the menu, we were given a sarcastic reply with a short “funny” answer (“Well, you required me to come to order and you’re still indecisive on your orders so you are not ready yet” before leaving our table while we were ready to order). We had the feeling that we were always bothering him. Not a pleasant experience in terms of customer service, really.
Despite the very good cuisine, we will not come back because of the owner’s cocky and arrogant attitude.
29/07/2026: Mr. Norbert wrote that tourists are treated rudely. I can't confirm that. I was always treated very well, and the food was consistently excellent. We'll be back in three weeks and are already looking forward to this beautiful place.
