13/04/2026: We had a reasonably priced set lunch menu. The appetizers were very good! The ossobuco could have been cooked a little longer. The dessert, the chocolate mousse, was delicious, but the presentation could have been better.

There's a real sense of exploration in the flavor combinations, without ever becoming excessive. We eagerly await the next menu!

10/04/2026: It's a shame, because you can see the waiter is putting his heart and soul into creating a welcoming experience. Unfortunately, there are many issues with the food. The steak tartare was ground up, like minced beef, and therefore not hand-cut as a proper tartare should be. Very disappointing. And the ribeye steak my mother ordered was lukewarm and very textured. Either it's low-quality meat, or the cook messed up the cooking. It's rather frustrating to give such a bad rating when you can see the waiter is trying so hard, but I think the problem lies more with the kitchen. The chef has probably lost his passion. I hope things improve and that you'll stop grinding the tartare so badly.

Start from the first floor and ascend slowly. From religious perspectives to historical figures, the painting techniques evolve. From still lifes to portraits to historical events, the clothing of the figures also changes. From afar, you can see the overall composition and color scheme of the paintings. But upon closer inspection, you can discover subtle expressions and the lines of muscle extension. Each painting can easily take up your time. Before you know it, an afternoon has passed, yet you still feel like you haven't had enough. A visit is highly recommended. Museum History🏛️: In 1825, the Montpellier painter François-Xavier Fabre donated his art collection (a large number of paintings and drawings, etc.) to his hometown of Montpellier, prompting the local city council to establish a museum dedicated to collecting and displaying these works. This is the origin of the Fabre Museum's establishment and name. Another prominent collector and donor was Alfred Bruyas (1821-1877), who donated approximately 200 paintings and drawings. The museum officially opened to the public in 1828 and underwent a major renovation in the early 21st century (2003-2007), enhancing its exhibition space and modernizing its facilities. It is currently one of the most important museums in France and Europe. P.S. A small supplement: François-Xavier Fabre, a native of Montpellier, spent most of his life in Italy (Florence). Through painting and connections, he gradually amassed a large collection of classic Italian paintings.

01/04/2026: Enjoying lunch on the terrace, in the sunshine, under a large pine tree, in a lovely neighborhood of Montpellier, is possible at Côté Jardin restaurant, just steps from the Faculty of Arts. The menu is intentionally small, a guarantee of quality and fresh ingredients. Delicious food, local wines, affordable prices, a friendly staff—what more could you ask for?! Reservations are highly recommended!

25/03/2026: I'm so glad I discovered Le Côté Jardin. The restaurant can be a little noisy, but the service is impeccable: the waitress is always kind and attentive. The dishes are excellent and beautifully presented. We always go back whenever we're in Montpellier, especially since we can bring our little dog, which is a real plus. A place to remember!

06/04/2026: Much better before the change of ownership. The service, quantity, and quality were lacking. It was hard to get a smile from the waitresses. Don't order the frangipane crepe; the filling is bad, and the presentation is clearly lacking (and the crepe was raw on one side and cold too). To top it all off, when it came time to split the bill, the waitress said, "Do you think I have nothing better to do?" You've lost about twenty customers because I didn't hesitate to tell everyone I know. Hoping for an improvement in your service and communication with customers.

10/03/2026: A wonderful discovery during our visit to Montpellier! We arrived as a family of four with our two children and our dog, and we received a fantastic welcome. We were seated a little apart from the other tables, which was perfect! The chef himself greeted us! The cuisine was refined and delicious. Two special dishes were prepared for our children. And the chef generously provided our children's meals... thank you again to Chef Charles Fontes for this thoughtful gesture. A restaurant that lives up to the very best. I highly recommend it.
