25/10/2025: A great seafood restaurant right on the harbor with a lovely atmosphere. We visited twice for dinner and were very satisfied. A friendly welcome and a great menu. The second time, the service was a bit slow and not as warm and welcoming.

07/06/2026: Highly recommended!! The perfect hotel for a visit to St. Malo. Family-run (mother, daughter, son-in-law, granddaughter), incredibly warm welcome. English is no problem. Fantastic tips for our two-day stay, including restaurant recommendations for the nearby "Fidelis" and "Bouche en Folie" (personal reviews, both excellent!). Located within the city walls in a relatively quiet side street near a gate. You can park your car across the street at the gate and it's best to leave it there (€13/24h in the off-season).
You're right in the heart of St. Malo, the cathedral is just around the corner.
Narrow stairs to the fourth floor. There's an elevator, although it wasn't working at the beginning of June 2026. Small suitcases are an advantage.... :-) The rooms are compact but spotless, very clean, and well-maintained. Everything you need is there. Good beds! Even flowers on the windowsill! Ours was on the third floor. The noise from the seagulls was so bad that we had to close the windows at the beginning of June.
The highlight is breakfast, which is offered for an extra €15. Very reasonable!
On the ground floor, you sit in a rustic setting surrounded by natural stone walls at lovely country-style tables. There's a lot of decoration, almost too much. The owners like it, and that's perfectly fine.
Each guest receives their own small pair of tongs to take the pre-cut food. There are no knives provided. You don't cut anything yourself! Only the hosts cut bread, cakes, and other items: precisely what will actually be eaten. There's always something available. Wonderfully sustainable. Nothing is left over, nothing is thrown away! Very hygienic because no one touches the food.
Fantastic bread, toast, various cakes (the apple cake is amazing!!!), juice, jam, and also delicious cheese and salami, attractively pre-sliced.
Espresso, fresh orange juice, or egg dishes are available for a small additional charge.
The ideal little boutique hotel. A place to feel at home!

17/05/2026: We booked a room for 3 people, and everything was great. It's a shame the hotel doesn't have parking. Otherwise, everything was excellent: the room, the restaurant, and the very attentive staff. Thank you.

04/07/2026: My father and I came to Saint Malo to stay at Hotel de la Porte Saint Pierre. Tiffany, at the main desk welcomed us very nicely. Her husband David runs breakfast and a bar/restaurant across the street and their son helps. They too were very welcoming. At first, we were given a room on the 4th floor (for Americans this is the 5th floor). We absolutely loved the room and the view, but unfortunately my father's leg gave him trouble going up/down the stairs. Tiffany was able to change our room to the 2nd floor which my dad could handle better. We felt she really helped accommodate his needs. We were extremely happy with our stay while we were there for 4 nights. The hotel offers breakfast acros the street. There is a very nice selection of sweet treats, cheese, a soft boiled egg station, coffee, and juices. Think "light breakfast". The hotel is literal steps away from the city's ramparts where one can walk and take in the ocean views. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and their staff who, im my opinion, work very hard as a family to make sure people enjoy their stay. I wish I could give them more stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
27/06/2026: I just stayed here for several days and truly enjoyed this hotel. The family & staff are kind and welcoming, my room seemed newly renovated was very comfortable. The cafe/bar across the street is a great place to cool off with a plate of fresh oysters. The magnificent beach is only steps away and changes every hour due to the dramatic tide. Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

09/06/2026: A truly delightful evening! A warm welcome, helpful advice on the menu from a restaurateur who clearly knows his stuff and his ingredients. A refreshing change! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves from beginning to end. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to make their stay in Saint-Malo unforgettable.
05/06/2026: We had a wonderful time on the terrace. Wonderful because of the thoughtful touches at every moment (like a blanket when the weather turned chilly), the kindness of the entire team, and the evident care taken in selecting high-quality, locally sourced products. Not to mention some excellent wines on the wine list.
In short, a perfect lunch on the terrace. We'll definitely be back!

27/08/2026: Beautiful location right on the beach. The lunch menus are highly recommended. The service wasn't the fastest, but it was very friendly – that's nitpicking, really. The food was delicious, the steak cooked medium as ordered, and the other dishes were beautifully presented with generous portions. The only downside was the wind, but that's not the restaurant's fault, and it's not like that every day. Highly recommended!
23/08/2026: We had a reservation for 12 pm, but arrived a little early at 11:50 am, intending to enjoy the bar before lunch. The waitress was eating and greeted us rudely, saying, "It's not 12 pm yet!" We left and sat on the terrace to wait. We didn't dare ask for a drink, as the waiter was also eating on the terrace. In short, we finally managed to order mussels and fries, which were, of course, industrially produced. The added bonus of this restaurant is charging €2 for a carafe of filtered still water that we didn't order. In short, avoid this place at all costs…

17/09/2026: I absolutely do not recommend it. I am currently here and I ordered a Savoyard galette. I got a worm in it, and the galette was not good at all. Then I ordered a butter and sugar crepe and received a butter and sugar chili crepe. When I told them, the cooks said it was a joke for an employee. Frankly, don't go there. The price is not worth what you get. I paid €17.90, not even with a discount.

The location is a real plus, as you can reach the city walls in 15 minutes.
Breakfast offers a good selection, even at 9:50 am.
Parking is available for an extra charge.
The rooms are very spacious, and there are several family rooms available.
14/06/2026: The hotel is quite good, offering a decent breakfast and parking. It's clean and quiet. The problem is the location; it's very far from the historic center and in a rather unattractive neighborhood. It's not dangerous, but it certainly lacks charm. For Saint-Malo, it's a poor location. The staff is extremely friendly, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is clean, large, and comfortable, with a good shower.

25/08/2026: It's a shame you can't give zero stars... Two cappuccinos (just calling them cappuccinos is an insult to Italians) and two empty croissants for €14... Avoid them, and if you're really hungry, find a nearby supermarket...
After reading the owner's response, I'm led to believe he doesn't quite understand the text. The main criticism was the quality of the cappuccino, which was obviously made with a very cheap powder; they clearly don't know what foam is; no criticism of the croissants, as the comment suggests...
The only thing that's evident is a natural tendency to react to criticism with arrogance and even rudeness... unfortunately, that's not how you improve. Best regards
21/08/2026: Very disappointing experience. The staff was extremely rude and not friendly at all, especially towards tourists. What I found completely unacceptable was that they took the cutlery away from our table even though we had already ordered food and were waiting to eat. This was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined our experience. I would not recommend this place and definitely would not visit again.
