05/03/2026: Passing through Cholet, we were looking for a nice place for lunch and after a bit of searching, we stumbled upon La Tarterie de l'Orangerie near the town center. It's a lovely spot where we had a great meal and enjoyed the menu. We opted for a €15-16 set menu with a starter, a savory main course, and a dessert, as well as a savory waffle dish for €15, a sugar waffle and a cappuccino for €6.50, and a kombucha for €4, all for around €40, which is good value for money as everything was tasty and quite generous. The butternut, chestnut, and mushroom tart was delicious and served piping hot. The Paul savory waffle with salmon was very good, but I would have liked more avocado and grapefruit toppings as they were barely noticeable, being just tiny pieces. It's a shame about that, but it's the only minor drawback, and one that the chef could easily improve. The dishes were served with a dressed green salad, and the desserts were good (waffle and French toast with salted caramel). Perhaps a little more whipped cream would have been nice to garnish the dessert plates, which seemed a bit plain, as were the drinks, which were very good. The service took a little while to get going with the two waiters, but after that, the wait for the food wasn't long at all. And both waiters were pleasant, smiling, and friendly. The restaurant is very attractive, beautifully decorated, and has a comfortable atmosphere. It's also impeccably clean, both the dining room and the restrooms. A lovely place to recommend in downtown Cholet, where this type of restaurant doesn't seem to be very common. Well done! Keep up the good work!

13/01/2026: Simple and efficient service, attentive and engaging waiter. Impeccable setting, calm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is intentionally vague… and what a pleasant surprise 😋 The perfect truffle egg was delicious, and the lamb and hake were perfectly seasoned. Excellent desserts and cheeses. My credit card took a hit 😅 but no regrets. A place I'll definitely return to 😉

15/02/2026: A wonderful discovery, the best crêperie we've been to so far. A very warm welcome and the galettes are truly delicious, full of flavor and perfectly balanced with quality ingredients. We finished on a sweet note with a crêpe that was just as good.

24/02/2026: The decor was lovely and the welcome was warm. I had the €39 set menu (starter, main course, and dessert), which was excellent. It was accompanied by a nice glass of wine. The price was well worth the meal. I'll definitely come back when I return to Cholet.

22/02/2026: The service was incredibly slow... 2 hours for an appetizer platter and a main course. Speaking of that main course... 28 euros for a fish dish with mushrooms that were neither listed on the menu nor mentioned verbally. The plate was cold (a shame, as it's important to keep the fish warm), and the mashed potatoes were cold. Yet we waited almost 45 minutes for this dish, with a glass of white wine arriving at the beginning of our wait. This is our second visit, and we've had a second enormous wait and been disappointed. So, this will be our last time here.

18/02/2026: Excellent restaurant, I highly recommend it: 5 stars well deserved. My first stop near Cholet and frankly, I wasn't disappointed. Warm welcome, large parking lot suitable for truckers, top-notch service. The only minor detail is that the showers are slightly narrow, but it's really insignificant compared to the overall quality.

05/02/2026: Excellent value for money, it's incredible! The set menu is €14.50 with an all-you-can-eat starter buffet! The buffet is excellent, with new options regularly added. The owners of this restaurant are very welcoming and friendly. Special mention for the service, which is always top-notch, with a smile and energy. If I had to recommend one dish: go for the fish with beurre blanc sauce, it's excellent! My only small piece of advice: I prefer the pasta bolognese. Everything is great, go for it!

11/02/2026: We arrived at the open door of the restaurant at 11:55 am and were chased away because it opens at noon, a strange welcome for a shopkeeper…a shame because the cuisine is refined and the dishes are presented with care.

17/11/2025: A Sunday lunch with friends (a group of 12). We were able to choose our menus when we booked, which was very convenient. A warm welcome and impeccable service. We all enjoyed a very good meal, with a particular favorite being the beetroot mille-feuille, and for me, the beef cheek was delicious. All accompanied by excellent wines (the Pic Saint-Loup 👌🏻). 16/11/2025: My grandmother regretted ordering the grilled sea bream. The fish was full of bones, whereas sea bream is a fish with very few bones. She thinks she was served a bream instead of a sea bream. She is very hesitant to return to that restaurant.

30/01/2026: Restaurant located in a business park (you don't come for the view), where you are served by very kind young adults with disabilities, where you enjoy very good quality dishes, and where your wallet will thank you... What more could you ask for?

30/12/2025: A great find in Cholet! This is definitely the restaurant I'd want to visit again if I'm ever in town again. The meal was excellent, the service was quick, and the staff were very friendly and professional. I really appreciated the little slip of paper they gave us at the beginning of the meal to place our order. The value for money is fantastic!
