21/05/2026: We opted for the €28 set menu, which included a starter, main course (and amuse-bouche), and a bottle of wine. Everything was excellent. It's a superb restaurant, unpretentious yet of a very high standard. We would gladly return.

12/05/2026: Mussels and fries with Maroilles cheese. Very disappointed by the quality and quantity of the fries... clearly not the house specialty. It was difficult to hear each other speak because the acoustics under the veranda were terrible (the dining room was full). The staff were pleasant and responsive. To sum up, and without meaning to be derogatory, it's a brasserie, a quick bite with friends, but definitely not a romantic or gourmet experience.

08/05/2026: I go there with my sweetheart every month, sometimes two or three times a month. It's a lovely, pleasant outing to play for hours at a leisurely pace, a strategic game against the machine, which sometimes beats us or we beat it. The atmosphere at the Calais casino is so pleasant, especially with the complimentary coffee. Sometimes even sweets and a small drink are offered, and everyone feels welcome in the rooms with their very professional staff. We occasionally go to other casinos, but we are very loyal to the one in Calais, with the "care" of not getting too carried away. We always recommend it to our friends and family, and sometimes even take them there for their birthdays. We get envelopes to play with us, either roulette or blackjack, like we're going to do this weekend.

23/04/2026: The casino is currently being renovated, but the initial impression is that it's much more modern. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I recommend it.

05/05/2026: But what are the health inspectors doing? I've observed that in this establishment's kitchen, regarding hygiene regulations, the chef is clearly unaware of the legislation! Food is stored in garages where pigeons are kept, the cold room doesn't close properly, ham is cooked and then left to cool in one of those garages (pigeons defecate), steak tartare is made with a beef fillet blackened by oxidation (you can't just throw away spoiled meat when you can sell it), they sweep and mop the kitchen (strictly forbidden because it spreads bacteria), the blast chiller exists but is never used (yet it's essential for food safety), they dry the dishes with a cloth... Following your response: Why do you want to meet with me in person? What I hope is that the health inspectors will come and meet you in person because everything I've written is true and it's intolerable coming from "professionals" in the restaurant industry. You deserve to be shut down by the authorities, and I sincerely hope that happens. As for my other comments, I really don't see the connection to what's going on in your establishment.

15/05/2026: A very nice experience, a superb atmosphere, and the table we were given was well-chosen for a group of seven. We had drinks quickly, less than a 5-minute wait. The beer on tap was good, a Castelain 8.5%, I recommend it! We didn't try the starters, but they looked mouthwatering. The main courses were very generous; I had the pink veal liver with homemade mashed potatoes. Everything is homemade, and the menu offers a wide variety of choices, at least eight, including meat, fish, and ABBA (Mamamia Raoum 🎶 🤭). The Irish coffee was good; bring a spoon if you like to eat the whipped cream separately, but it was excellent. The service was friendly and very fast (let them know if you're there to relax and take your time). I recommend it; a great place in Calais Centre compared to the other options nearby. 08/05/2026: The service was perfect, but the food was a different story altogether: hair in the turbot dish, a shrimp antenna in the sweetbreads. The cooking was inconsistent. The dessert menu featured an excellent crème brûlée, a poorly balanced raspberry-pistachio entremet with very little raspberry, a Calais cake with far too much buttercream and a dry glaze, and a macaron with a Bueno spread—they could have done better. The owner offered us complimentary aperitifs. A disappointing experience.

15/05/2026: First visit! Friendly and very pleasant staff. The owner is very friendly and attentive to the well-being of his customers. Excellent cuisine, beautiful presentation, the sauces are perfect with the dishes. Beautiful setting, overlooking the sea. The prices are the same as for restaurants of this style, but you also eat very well. The service wasn't rushed; we had time to savor the dishes. Form your own opinion, but for me, it's a restaurant to recommend, so I recommend it without hesitation.

02/05/2026: We had made a reservation on Monday for a Friday visit. Upon arrival, with two toddlers, a stroller, and two pregnant women, the waiter didn't know where to seat us. This already put us off somewhat. Once seated, the music proved to be truly disturbing. Furthermore, hearing one of the waitresses complain from beginning to end of the meal, for various reasons, and reprimand the young servers who were doing their best despite the busy service, made the experience even less pleasant. However, the fact that this same waitress felt entitled to yell at my daughter, then immediately changed her attitude, becoming excessively sweet when she realized I was nearby, is simply unacceptable. It's a disgrace. We understand that your job can be difficult, but if customer interaction becomes unbearable, perhaps you should consider a different career path. The restaurant's interior is relatively small, and children don't run on batteries, so yes, a child will play while waiting for their order, Madam. Don't accept so many customers and reservations if you can't deliver afterward. To end on a positive note: the meal was very good.
