25/07/2026: An unusual, almost timeless place with Belle Époque charm. The personalized welcome sets the tone: everyone at the restaurant goes out of their way to ensure we have a wonderful time. The beautifully presented dishes, a feast for the eyes, awaken our taste buds and ignite our pleasure in tasting them. A wide selection of rum and/or whisky will delight connoisseurs. The Champagne and Wine list is extensive and impressive, offering epicureans plenty to enjoy.

19/08/2026: What a fantastic discovery! Le Grand Bleu is definitely one of the best restaurants we've visited in Calais. From the very first minute, everything was perfect: a beautiful ambiance, a warm welcome, incredibly friendly and attentive service, and of course, cuisine that truly delights. The dishes are not only beautifully presented, but their flavors are on a completely different level. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, perfectly balanced aromas, and creative cuisine that still manages to be pleasantly down-to-earth. Every course was a real experience – you can immediately tell that the food is cooked with passion and skill. We were particularly impressed that, despite the sophisticated cuisine, the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed and not at all stuffy. This combination is precisely what makes the visit so special. For us, it's a clear 5-star recommendation and a must-visit in Calais! ❤️ Anyone who enjoys truly excellent food should absolutely not miss this restaurant. 16/09/2026: The service was fantastic. The waiter was exceptionally polite and helpful, as was the waitress. They explained the entire menu and recommended what to eat and drink. It's a wonderful place, worth visiting and sitting down for a meal and a drink.

Even the welcome was warm and friendly. The entire team was attentive, friendly, and incredibly helpful – you feel welcome from the very first moment. 😊 And the food? Simply amazing! 🤩 Fresh ingredients, expertly prepared, wonderful flavors, and generous portions. This is exactly how we imagine French cuisine! We especially appreciated that you don't just get beautifully presented dishes, but genuinely good, honest food where you can taste the quality. The value for money was also absolutely convincing. You really get a lot for the quality and quantity. The ambiance is cozy and typically French – exactly the kind of restaurant that makes a French holiday culinary experience perfect. 🇫🇷🥂 We were completely satisfied and would come back anytime. A definite recommendation for anyone who wants to eat well in Calais!

20/09/2026: An excellent dish, a wine list that makes you want to come back, and wines available by the glass for the most part. We would have preferred to be upstairs, but since the establishment is highly recommended by many, you have to book well in advance. As for the service, we found it attentive and considerate.

13/09/2026: We visited the restaurant last night and ordered the €40 Bib Gourmand menu. It was excellent value for a three-course dinner, with several interesting choices for both the starter and main course. The ingredients were fresh and the dishes were nicely presented. I especially liked that the menu offered a good mix of traditional French flavors and more modern combinations. Even the bread was very good—they warmed it up before serving, which was a small but very nice touch. The portions were well balanced, so we could enjoy all three courses without feeling overly full. The service was friendly and professional, and the overall atmosphere made for a very pleasant evening. For €40, the Bib Gourmand menu offers very good quality for the price. Definitely a restaurant I would recommend if you are looking for a good French dining experience in the area.

05/09/2026: Unfortunately, I don't share the published reviews. As a Breton, I didn't enjoy the crêpes. For me, the crêpe batter, both sweet and savory, had no flavor. My savory crêpe—because I'm fed up with the term "galette"—was supposed to be filled with Maroilles cheese and onions, but where were they? My sweet crêpe wasn't any better: a scoop of ice cream in the middle, four dollops of whipped cream in the corners, and only the apples were good. Very disappointing, and on top of that, quite expensive.

13/09/2026: There's a serious lack of hygiene, and as for the staff, I wouldn't want to be in some of their shoes. We get what we pay for. Although, at least there's a "Happy Birthday, Little Indians" theme.

16/09/2026: A very bad experience at reception. The person stared at me and I clearly felt a difference in treatment depending on the customer. A particularly unpleasant and uncomfortable attitude.

07/09/2026: Far from the establishments around the Place d'Armes in Calais, this small restaurant near the theater is a sure bet and won't disappoint. The warm welcome, the cozy atmosphere, the dishes that emphasize homemade quality, the efficient service, the generous portions... it's hard to find a fault with this excellent place. Please note that while the restaurant is open every lunchtime, it is only open for dinner on Saturdays. Reservations are therefore recommended.

14/09/2026: Unfortunately, a lot went wrong: wrong dish, was eventually exchanged for the correct one... then they forgot the cutlery... only got a knife... had to ask for the fork... forgot to bring the drink and small portions. The food itself was nothing special either, unfortunately. I had expected more from this restaurant, which looks chic with matching prices.

11/09/2026: Even though there was a minor mishap right at the beginning, I won't dwell on it, because apart from that, absolutely EVERYTHING was fantastic. The appetizer (peeled Calais lobster) was probably the best we've ever eaten (and we enjoy fine dining). The dessert selection was also exceptional. We had a wonderful window seat overlooking the sunset, and at the end, the chef himself came by to check if everything was alright. All the staff were very friendly, and the value for money was outstanding!

29/08/2026: The welcome, cleanliness, and setting were excellent! A breathtaking view. Relaxation and serenity. This place is magical, and I've never eaten such good oysters as here. Even in Cancale, they have nothing on you! 😂 However, and this is for the owner: your "Penne rigate with tomato, olive, and chorizo ​​for 24 euros" is an absolute rip-off! (The sauce was bland, thin, and completely tasteless.) I swear, I could make better in 10 minutes flat, stopwatch in hand, with a store-bought sauce from Aldi! It's a real shame. So go ahead, but whatever you do, don't order that plate of pasta, which must cost them €1.50 at cost.

23/08/2026: Lovely welcome, good food, beautiful view. It's a shame the gentleman in the pink shirt took our money when we gave him our gift voucher. We were rushed through it!
