05/03/2026: Third visit to this restaurant. The first two experiences were very satisfactory, which makes this last one all the more disappointing. Having come for Grandmothers' Day, we noticed several unavailability points as early as 1 p.m., with some dishes already unavailable and a rather limited menu. The gourmet coffee was also quite average. For a bill of €160, we expected better planning for what was sure to be a very busy day. On the plus side: the welcome and service were pleasant. It's a shame, because we had very fond memories of our previous visits. Hello, (in response to your comment). Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify: I am a woman, not a man. We arrived around 1 p.m. this Sunday, Grandmothers' Day, which doesn't seem particularly late for lunch service. Upon arrival, the suggested dish was foie gras, not the scallops mentioned in your reply. Furthermore, some dishes were already unavailable, notably the sea bream. Regarding the wine, we had ordered a half-bottle of Pouilly-Fuissé; a half-bottle of Sancerre was brought to us instead without any mention that the requested wine was no longer available. Fortunately, we noticed this before the restaurant opened. Your response suggests that these issues did not occur, however, this is simply what we observed during our visit. My review therefore accurately reflects the experience we had that day, which is the very essence of a customer review.

20/01/2026: Coming from Montpellier for a business trip, I discovered this little restaurant with its retro feel, and what a marvel the steak tartare (sorry, Le Filet Américan!) was! A real treat, and above all, incredibly generous (like the people of the North I'm getting to know). Thank you for this beautiful dish and the slightly retro decor... Christian

16/11/2025: Haven't rated the food as we didn't eat here. The restaurant was busy and when we walked in not one staff member attended to us, we had to literally stop a member of staff to ask for a table for 2. They just shrugged and pointed to a table of 6 nearby. We then had to get more attention to get menus. Then again to order to be told there was no steak left in a rude way. So we just left. There was a noisy atmosphere and a bit pub like at the bar area which didn't make it feel like a restaurant. It is a big place with 2 floors, but they need to have enough staff to cope with the size they can cater for and train their staff better. Whilst we were waiting I noticed others also struggling to get attention and quite a lot of food left on plates, which is bever a good sign.

28/02/2026: Feb26- visited many times over the years. It seems to have changed hands. It's lighter /brighter and youngsters running it? Used to be two fellas. The service is passable (the waiter was friendly, the waitress perfunctory). Food is great value and always tastes fresh and cooked to order. Pizza is ace and you can make any burger vegetarian which is fab.

14/02/2026: I come here regularly and I've never been disappointed. Friendly staff, efficient service, great atmosphere. As for the food, the chicken escalope with mushrooms is just perfect; I order it almost every time. A fantastic place in Calais.
