02/05/2026: Great restaurant. We came without a reservation, but it's fine in the off-season. I imagine it must be a different story in peak season. The dishes are excellent, the cooking perfectly executed. I ordered the octopus, which was incredibly tender! We'll definitely be back.

23/01/2026: I stopped by Hendaye on my layover on my way from Paris to San Sebastian.
There's a wine shop at the front of the entrance and a wine bar at the back.
They have a wide selection of wines by the glass, as well as beer and liqueurs.
They also have a wide selection of tapas. The portions might be a little too much for one person.
There didn't seem to be an English menu, but the staff were happy to assist me in English.
They were very friendly and I felt at home.😊

Over €100 for two people for a starter, main course, and an aperitif.
Poorly located (next to the toilets).
45-minute wait between the starter and the main course.
For my main course, I ordered bluefin tuna, which was way overcooked (tuna should be served rare throughout!).
In short, for the price of a Flunch meal, it would have been acceptable, but at this price, for lunch, it's outrageous.
01/05/2026: I do not recommend this place. We arrived at 1 p.m. without a reservation. We were seated at a table next to the restrooms (which smelled bad) because the other tables were supposedly reserved… the restaurant was half empty. Several families showed up without reservations and were given seats on the terrace… the veranda was three-quarters empty.
Then, 45 minutes passed between the appetizer and the main course.
I will not be returning. This is an establishment to avoid. And the food has become mediocre. Very expensive: over 100 euros for a tomato juice, a non-alcoholic cocktail, two appetizers (gratinéed razor clams and fried octopus), and one main course each (baby squid that was inedible and a tuna steak that was overcooked).

05/04/2026: I went to this establishment for a drink, but my experience was very disappointing.
The waiter was particularly unpleasant, which made the experience rather unpleasant. Furthermore, when it came time to pay, we were informed that credit cards weren't accepted, even though this hadn't been mentioned at the beginning or clearly displayed anywhere.
This lack of transparency and hospitality is truly regrettable. I do not recommend this establishment.

Pastries in the sun even if they are refrigerated, perhaps I should not have noticed them during my visit🤔
In addition, no respect for the people who take the trouble to travel to apply and do a test.
As no response from the manager despite my 2 reminders, I leave this notice to let people know the lack of humanity that reigns there... no wonder the salespeople do not stay.
For my part, I was not a customer but I know that will never be the case.

29/09/2024: Excellent! We were tempted by the menu despite the empty terrace and what a good thing we did! It was delicious, the prices very reasonable, and the owner was super friendly. She was alone that evening and handled the cooking and service brilliantly. I highly recommend it!
