26/09/2025: A place full of happiness. Even when the days are a bit gloomy (weather and car breakdown 😊), the Jardin des Lys casts a golden light over everything. We felt very welcome and received great support. A wonderful place. We had a great rest in a beautiful, clean room, and in the morning we were greeted with a delicious breakfast with homemade yogurt and jam made from the garden fruits. Thank you for everything 🫶🏼

08/06/2026: Brilliant and creative cocktails. Excellent wine list. Lovely assortment of tasty Tapas. Warm and welcoming staff and service. Great casual vibe. Café du Commerce is a welcome addition to Montmorillon and is shaping up to be the hotspot of the summer. Must visit!!

14/04/2026: A stop in Civaux, a very pleasant and charming village, led me to a crêperie. I was looking for a place to eat lunch with my son, and the menu outside looked very appealing, so we decided to eat there. At the reception, a very busy woman didn't even acknowledge my son's greeting. So we sat down at a table to eat. Apparently, there's a specific way of doing things in this establishment, and I understood immediately when I went back to the reception to ask if someone would take our order or if we should order at the counter. There was a lot of people waiting, and the very unpleasant woman at reception made a fool of me in front of everyone. She aggressively explained that we couldn't go in "to look around" but had to stop at reception before sitting down. She completely ruined my appetite and made me not want to stay even a minute longer. I felt humiliated because even though we hadn't done the right thing and hadn't stopped at reception, this woman's reaction was completely over the top. I'm disappointed by her behavior. I therefore do not recommend it.

04/06/2026: We stopped there yesterday to break up our journey. Set menu at €16 including wine. Generous portions. Very friendly staff. Clean restrooms.

06/05/2026: A fantastic discovery! The meal was truly delicious. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, and the green beans perfectly balanced the saltiness of the fries. It had been ages since I'd had real homemade fries: they were excellent, a real treat! The tiramisu was divine: very light, with a lovely coffee flavor. Normally, when I order it in a restaurant, I'm often disappointed because the coffee flavor isn't strong enough and I find it too heavy. Not this time, though; it had been a long time since I'd tasted one this good. I even hesitated to order more 😅 Not to mention the excellent value for money! I will definitely be back and highly recommend it.

28/03/2026: The owner insults customers; they are disrespectful and rude. Above all, do not go there if you want to eat.

16/03/2026: We had a lovely meal here last night. Many other places nearby were closed but we took a chance on here and were not disappointed. Portions were large, food tasty and freshly prepared. The waiter was very nice and attentive and we really enjoyed the experience. We noticed an outside eating area with a play area so we will return when our grandson visits in the summer as this eating set up will be ideal.
