16/08/2026: The meal was very good and plentiful, the menu details were appreciated, we received a very warm welcome, and the staff were very attentive. Located in a pleasant setting in the village of Civray. I highly recommend it.

21/07/2026: Following the fascinating guided tour of the abbey, we were welcomed into this charming restaurant. The chef was absent due to health issues, and three women were running the place. Only the set menu was available, which we accepted. It was a buffet of homemade appetizers. They were simple, flavorful (the tomatoes were excellent), fresh, varied, and truly homemade. The main course was perfectly cooked marinated pork ribs with Provençal tomatoes, quality potatoes, and pickled beets. Dessert was delicious: a roasted peach on a bed of crumble, plus a scoop of vanilla ice cream. All for €15—quite reasonable. The restaurant filled up quickly on this weekday, a testament to the undoubtedly excellent reviews. Thank you for the warm welcome, the atmosphere, the impeccable service, and your dedication to doing things well. We look forward to seeing you again and meeting your chef when he's fully recovered. 18/07/2026: Delicious food. I had fish and chips, Dad chose steak. For starters, we chose a tapas platter. Slightly too few fries with the fish and chips, but we certainly ate enough.

23/07/2026: Lunch break was fantastic! I received a very warm welcome, the Caesar salad was excellent, the homemade desserts were a real treat, and I loved the iced tea! Special mention for the delicious lychee juice. I highly recommend it!

26/04/2026: A truly lovely and warm welcome! We were just passing through for one night. The room is simple but comfortable and overlooks a pretty garden. The breakfast is very good and reasonably priced! And the mango jam is delicious!!!! Thank you again for everything.

05/07/2026: Discovered by chance, what a wonderful surprise! Magnificent views over the little Gartempe river, which is so peaceful in summer. The staff were lovely, and what can I say about the sirloin steak? The best I've ever had, Limousin beef. I highly recommend spending some time at this establishment. 23/07/2026: Excellent restaurant! The service is top-notch, the team is welcoming, friendly, and very professional. The food is homemade, the dishes are excellent, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. The parking is easily accessible, which is a real plus. I highly recommend this place; we will definitely be back!

28/07/2026: If you're looking for a wide variety of dishes or sophisticated cuisine, this isn't the best option. But if you appreciate a small place with good ingredients and a few well-prepared items, congratulations, you've found the perfect spot! Quality, authentic French food at a reasonable price. Spectacular quiches, salads, and a selection of classic meat or fish dishes with a choice of side. The desserts are all amazing! And the coffee is high-quality and well-made. P.S. The bathroom was very clean.

29/09/2025: Ideally located for exploring Châtellerault, La Gourmandine Hotel is a haven of peace. It's a beautiful place to stay, peaceful and in a unique setting. A special mention goes to the breakfast. A small drawback: a kettle in the room would be welcome, either for early morning breakfasts or evening herbal teas.
