17/05/2026: This modest sized restaurant feels very spacious inside due to the unusual white pine panelling. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the ambience is relaxed. I started with the duo of foie gras de canard which was excellent! Two pieces were chilled slices and two pieces were grilled “crème brulée” with a layer of sugar on top. Most creative as the cooked foie gras becomes the ‘cream’ - brilliant! My main course was veal kidneys (always a treat in France as you never see them on the menu in England) in garlic and parsley butter. Also very good, though slightly spoiled by the fact that the garde manger forgot to wash the lettuce (lots of gravel crunching - not good). The bread here is fantastic! Everything I visit France for. Dessert was a novel take on tiramisu involving crème chantilly, apples and pineau des Charentes in place of coffee and Marsala. Not really a success, but a noble failure.

We have eaten in the bistrot and the restaurant. Very special. Set in beautiful gardens. If you have the opportunity you should definitely visit Lauryvan.

We chose this charming place where we enjoyed a meal that felt just like home. While the dishes are simple, they are delicious and prepared with care. The welcome is very warm and the service is friendly. It's wonderful to know that, in our beautiful country, we can still find places where hospitality and meals remain moments of sharing, like here. This is a place to prioritize for anyone driving on that awful road between Limoges and Poitiers who appreciates good food.

29/04/2026: A small inn in a tiny village right next to the church. For an unbeatable price, the owners serve a delicious meal. Everything is homemade (they even deliver meals for seniors). Everything is tasty and prepared with local ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Reservations are essential as it's a popular spot. We've been several times and loved it... an excellent place!
