22/02/2026: We had dinner at Taj Mahal in Orléans with my two children and, as always, we weren't disappointed. It's our favorite place to enjoy Indian cuisine in Orléans. The dishes are always so flavorful and aromatic: you truly feel transported to India from the very first bite. For starters, we tried the samosas, which were delicious and perfectly spiced. Then, I had the lamb curry, which was tender and full of flavor, and my children chose the chicken masala, which they loved. The cheese naans and rice were also very good as side dishes. The owner is very friendly and the welcome is warm, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. One small suggestion for improvement: perhaps a slight refresh of the decor. But this doesn't detract from the quality of the food or the pleasure we get from returning. A truly excellent restaurant in Orléans that I highly recommend!

22/02/2026: The good points: ✅ Unlimited cheese naan (you need to be pretty strong to eat more than one with a meal...) ✅ Pleasant and fast service ✅ Inexpensive (vegetarian menu for €15 even on weekends) The bad points: ❌ Dishes that REALLY lack flavor (the vegetarian dahl was a vaguely salty, textured amalgamation), a shame for a cuisine known for its spices... ❌ Misleading menu (palak paneer listed as "homemade" cheese on the menu but served with Laughing Cow cheese (according to the waiter, all restaurants do this, which is reassuring...) The rating may seem a bit harsh, but it reflects our overall impression after having lunch at this restaurant.

I ordered the tandoori chicken and the tikka sandwich with cheese naan… just too good 🤤 The meat was incredibly tender, and the portions were generous. We thoroughly enjoyed it, I highly recommend it!

17/02/2026: You order, then wait in vain for your meal. Finally, you think, "Okay, I'll call them, this isn't right." Then they tell you they're closed on Tuesdays, even though it says "open" everywhere. They don't even give any warning, nothing.

All the dishes I've tried with my daughter have always been world-class, and there are some dishes I only eat there. I'm always delighted to return here. The owner and his staff are always kind and helpful...and smiling, which isn't always the case these days. I truly feel like recommending it to everyone. Stop by and you'll understand what I mean. 16/03/2026: The food is nothing at all relatable to Indian cuisine. Smaller than what my four years old son can eat. I don’t know how they manage to get 4.9 stars. The food was blend, no flavours at all. I understand non-spicy, but this is total out of flavour. I got very irritated.

13/03/2026: A special place! We visited for my birthday and we were the first to arrive at an empty restaurant. I'd recommend the special set menu if you don't want to wade through the generous à la carte selection. The staff are very attentive. When our French faded, they spoke good English. We were asked if we wanted mild or hot spice by the considerate waiter. The ambience is magical - while waiting for your food, look up at the beautiful room decoration, especially the ceiling plasterwork. A rich fruit cocktail arrived before the starter, which was a nice surprise. The starter was generous and tasty, with a cheese naan. The main was a generous basmati rice dish with a delicious selection of tandoori chicken and lamb, prawn curry, and chicken korma. The tandoori arrived on a sizzling dish! The different tastes went well with the bottle of house white wine. A choice of dessert was served afterwards. The restaurant was full before we finished! We'll be back here next time in Toulouse!
