14/01/2026: It is urgent for me to write and share this message with everyone, because necessity demands it. Lakshmi Bhavan is the best restaurant in Paris (and of all time) that I know: I have never been disappointed, whether I went alone or with others. The owners are very welcoming, the dishes are more than delicious, and despite the somewhat dated decor, you are transported to the world of One Thousand and One Nights. It is therefore a heartfelt plea that I am making, as the restaurant risks closing its doors due to a lack of customers (!). This is such a shame, and I am deeply saddened. If this were to happen, no other restaurant could even come close to its culinary excellence. :( So, aside from setting up an online fundraiser, I strongly advise you to go there as soon as possible. Besides, these delicious snacks are quite affordable. There you have it, please excuse this sudden intrusion, but I had to say it. Save Lakshmi Bhavan! :D

24/11/2025: Very disappointed, not worth the trip. Limited choice of dishes... and no flavor. Hygiene leaves much to be desired. The desserts were unappealing, the fruit wasn't fresh. Honestly, don't go, you'll be disappointed.

20/01/2026: The meal was very good, but some details were disappointing: the meat wasn't very pleasant to chew, and the cheese in the naan was awful, like an industrial cheese (such as Kiri). The sauces and spices, however, were good.

27/06/2025: The staff is really great, and the food is very good and plentiful. The only two drawbacks are: the dining room is "noisy," making it difficult to have a quiet time because it's very, very often crowded, as it's a really great restaurant. The other point is that after having such a good time, your clothes will smell of the oil needed to prepare the amazing fried dishes, so a towel is mandatory! 😊 But honestly, it's a great place with very nice people at the helm!

10/12/2025: I had lunch at Le Palais de Shah Jahan (established in 1987) in Paris with my wife, and we had a wonderful time. The welcome was warm and professional, and the food was delicious: authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and just the right portion size. We particularly enjoyed the curries and naans, which were cooked to perfection. The service was attentive, friendly, and top-notch without being intrusive. We enjoyed every bite and left happy and satisfied. It's a sure bet for a quality Indian meal – we'll gladly return! I highly recommend this restaurant. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On the plate… it's a feast for the senses. The cheese naan is the most flavorful and generous in the world. The lentil dhal is remarkably delicate, fragrant, velvety, and profoundly comforting. The rice is light, airy, and impeccable. And then… the chicken korma… pure marvel: a smooth sauce, a perfect balance of spices, and melt-in-your-mouth meat—simply a masterful dish. Everything is just right. Everything is perfectly executed. Everything is refined. You can feel the love of cooking, the respect for flavors, and the generosity in every detail. The welcome is warm, the food delicious (special mention for the shrimp korma and garlic cheese naan, the rice was truly delicious, and the little spicy carrot salad was lovely too!), the staff are friendly, and they even adapt the dishes for children. We loved it.

24/01/2026: It's impossible to rate the food as we left before being served. We arrived at 8:00 PM and left at 9:30 PM because we still hadn't been served. Admittedly, it was a Saturday night, but the dishes had identical bases and shouldn't take so long to prepare.

24/01/2026: Nice Indian restaurant with good homely food (also not spicy for those that require it). Authentic Indian food and ambiance in a small cosy set. Very nice and attentive staff. Family ambiance. Good pickles.

08/01/2026: The food was delicious. The music made us forget we were in Paris for a moment. The waiter was friendly, but also a bit inappropriate. He didn't approve of us not having an appetizer. Although it was quiet, it was quite strange that they were doing the bookkeeping behind us while other people were eating in the restaurant.

01/09/2024: If you're tired of the dumplings and andouillettes served in most restaurants on Rue St Jean, then you can try the exotic at the Raj Mahal. We received good advice from the waiter, who did not push us to eat, and who directed us towards suggestions that were not too spicy. I don't remember the name of the dishes, but it was tandoori.
