The setting is understated and elegant.
The cuisine is refined and truly delicious. Coming from the Paris region and having a particular fondness for Japanese food, I had plenty of options in Paris and I've tried many. This one is every bit as good as them :)
The chef is very welcoming and friendly, which is a real plus.
I was there with my wife and daughters, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

16/05/2026: The wait was long. Our order arrived at the next table. We had to ask for spoons when they should have come with the soups. There weren't any small containers for the sushi sauces 🍣.
The meal itself was good. It's just the service that wasn't up to par.

22/05/2026: After staying a few days in La Grande Motte, we were pleasantly surprised by the food and its quality. It's a welcome change from the so-called "fresh fish" restaurants that claim their fish was just caught. The welcome and service are excellent; don't hesitate!

Of all the Japanese restaurants in and around Montpellier, this is the one I recommend!
02/03/2026: We were looking for a sushi place and spontaneously decided to visit Wasabi. We were positively surprised and are still amazed by the delicacy this place has to offer.
I thought I am not a fan of sushi, but this is mostly because of experience from all these sushi places popping up, serving low quality stuff.
Here, the food felt like being made truly with knowledge and passion.
We will come back again!!

The sushi platter was okay
No cutlery (apparently it's an optional extra)
22/05/2026: I've been a customer for over 10 years and I'm still delighted with the quality of the food. The waitress was very pleasant and helped my partner choose his meal. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it to all sushi lovers.

Salle accueillante, ambiance tamisée le soir.
Petite table haute avec vue sur la cuisine.
Service efficace, rapide et agréable.
Bonnes bières japonaises.
Produits frais de qualité. Petites portions bien arrangées. Des goûts inhabituels, délicats.
Parfait pour se dépayser et anticiper le programme culinaire du futur voyage au Japon ;)
Prix corrects.

The atmosphere is cozy. The food is good.
Today we had the daily special (chirashi), pork tonkatsu, and gyudon. The dishes are very good, well-cooked, and the prices are reasonable. I'll be back.
31/05/2025: Excellent food, except for the tempura which was too oily and the waiter who made fun of us every time we mispronounced the names of the dishes.

Friendly service and good value for money.
The only downside is that it can be a bit slow if you're on a tight schedule.
