Le Bateau Lavoir
Orleans
15/08/2026: Great on the boat, terrace over the water. The menu didn't appeal much at first, but the dishes were surprisingly tasty. Really top-notch. Gazpacho amazing, the fish sublime.
15/08/2026: A very beautiful setting, perfect for a relaxing break. The new furniture is much nicer than the previous kind. There are several types of tables to choose from, so you can find the perfect spot depending on your preference. The staff is friendly.
The drinks are very standard, nothing exceptional. As for the restaurant itself, depending on the dish, the cooking and balance of the ingredients can sometimes be lacking. Finally, for the price, one would expect more skill and attention to detail. But overall, it's acceptable.

L'Antidote
Orleans
06/07/2026: We sat on the terrace there this weekend, we received a very warm welcome, the waiter was super friendly and gave great advice, we had a wonderful time, we'll be back 😊
28/06/2026: The owner is a bit gruff. Don't even think about moving the tables on the terrace; it's all meticulously planned, calculated to maximize profits. Once you've ordered, you're oblivious, except when it's time to leave. They treat you like you're the only one who feels they care. A shame.

14/07/2026: Unfriendly waiters, rude and aggressive… They were even when we weren't being rude to them.
Very bad experience
06/07/2026: As a Belgian experienced in the art of drinking, this location is strategic for ending a crazy night!

La Chancellerie
Orleans
24/07/2026: The fries were disgusting; in my opinion, they were leftovers from the fryer the day before. I don't recommend this place. The location is beautiful, but it's a shame. Avoid it; McDonald's fries are better, and I don't eat at McDonald's very often. It's very expensive for the quality of the food.
20/07/2026: Lunch on the terrace, generous and very good dishes

La Cantine
Orleans
04/01/2026: A rather strange experience: no menus, no price list, so we didn't know the prices. We were used to a superb restaurant in a historic location in Orléans, so we imagined there had been a change of ownership. The waitress was friendly, but there was hardly anyone there on a Saturday night… which explains it. The dishes were, let's just say, very light: the pizzas, the salmon pasta… in short, unfortunately, we won't be going back.
03/01/2026: Very disappointed. I hadn't been back for a few years and I won't be going back. Twice my wife found metal wires in her pizza! Yet, a second pizza was made after three wires were discovered.
The pizzas are small, and my cheese pizza was sickening: goat cheese, Emmental, and Camembert!? The crust wasn't cooked enough.
Okay, they offered a discount on the bill, but it's not enough to make me return.
Furthermore, the dining room and restrooms could use some attention to detail and a more refined atmosphere.

Chocolaterie Royale
Orleans
13/06/2026: Helpful waitress!
It makes you want to order even more of the box of chocolates!!!
With a little chocolate in your mouth
Exquisite ☺️
09/06/2026: ⭐⭐ 2/5 — Beautiful historic setting, but 100% outsourced catalog. The shop located under the arcades of Rue Royale is aesthetically remarkable, and the service is perfectly adequate. However, an analysis of the products reveals a blatant lack of local authenticity. Although the brand claims to be the "oldest chocolate shop in Orléans since 1760," it no longer makes its own products. The online catalog and the specialties offered in-store (notably the chocolate crottins and camemberts) are perfect clones, down to the last cent, of the product descriptions of Maison Mercier, based in the Cher region. The descriptions and prices are exactly the same. 😱 The chocolates are objectively of good quality, but if your goal is to consume or give authentic, handcrafted chocolate, made in the pure Orléans tradition and crafted locally, it is better to turn to the city's independent artisans.
Update following the owner's official response: Rating maintained (2/5). So be it: this is not "subcontracting" in the strict sense, but rather integration by Maison Mercier, which crafts its products in its own workshops in Baugy, in the Cher department (18). In terms of customer experience and transparency, the fundamental problem remains unchanged. The major historical claim displayed in the window—"Oldest chocolate shop in Orléans since 1760"—serves as a marketing facade. The Orléans identity is disconnected from the reality of production: 100% of the catalog, price lists, and product descriptions are exact replicas of a brand from another department. Similar to the labeling irregularities observed in other local food sectors (such as honey), the deliberate maintenance of this geographical ambiguity in the shop—without explicit display of the origin at the time of purchase—biases consumer consent. The craftsmanship remains artisanal and of high quality, but the added value is no longer local to Orléans. For chocolate truly made on-site by independent local artisans, my initial advice remains the same.

23/07/2026: A real gem! The welcome was warm and friendly. The products are of excellent quality, the dishes are generous, delicious, and very well prepared. We will gladly return.
04/06/2026: We came every week during our 9-month banking training and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves each time. The owners are more than just business-minded; they're very kind and the prices are more than reasonable. I highly recommend it!
