The hotel is clean and ideally located for visiting the city's main tourist attractions on foot: the Cité de la Mer (Maritime Museum), the port, the umbrella factory, the theater... Several restaurants nearby. A very short but very pleasant stay.

15/08/2026: Unacceptable behavior from the chef that ruins an otherwise exceptional meal. Service: 5/5 | Food: 5/5 | Value for money: 4/5 Let's start with what's good: the food and the service. The quality of the cuisine is undeniable, and the service provided by the team is impeccable. As for the price, the value for money is acceptable, although I'm deducting points for the exorbitant drink prices (a standard soft drink at €8 is excessive). We also noticed that almost all the other customers declined the aperitifs, which were also overpriced. However, my overall rating of 1/5 is due to one element that completely ruined our evening: the chef's attitude. The awkwardness began as soon as we arrived to make a reservation, when the chef didn't even bother to say hello or offer a smile. But the worst was yet to come. Upon our arrival that evening, he literally launched into a tirade against his staff right in front of us. Throughout the meal, we then heard him repeatedly yelling at his team. The result? We stopped even paying attention to the excellence of the food on our plates, so completely did the chef's unacceptable behavior monopolize our attention. This distressing spectacle elicited forced smiles from at least three tables, to the point that we ended up sympathizing with our neighbors in the face of this shared discomfort. In an establishment whose reputation rests on the prestige of its chef, he is expected to live up to expectations in every aspect. On a personal level, however, given his impressive professional background, he falls short. A great chef should inspire respect, not discomfort. Finally, having read the chef's often disparaging responses to critical reviews, I know what to expect after this comment is published. I sincerely sympathize with the staff who, nevertheless, do a remarkable job. I hope the manager will reflect on his approach to improve the working conditions of his front-of-house team as well as the well-being of his customers: we come to a restaurant not only to eat well but, above all, to have a pleasant experience. Right of reply following the owner's feedback: I acknowledge your response, which perfectly illustrates the discrepancy highlighted in my initial comment. Regarding our reservation: the doors of your establishment were open. We did not see any meals being served, and you did not even deign to greet us. It was your manager, visibly uncomfortable, who took our reservation. If it is inappropriate to enter a business with its doors open, please excuse us for disturbing your rest. What is truly shocking in your feedback is the fundamental misunderstanding of what running a business entails. A restaurant is a business driven by its employees and financed by its customers. Leading teams, coping with pressure, and striving for excellence require discipline—that much is clear. However, true professionalism lies in elevating one's team with respect. Yelling at staff during service and creating widespread discomfort in the dining room remains completely unacceptable, regardless of the level of prestige aspiring to.

However, I was disappointed by the lack of clarity when ordering: the sauce for the steak is extra (€1.50) as are the vegetables (a few green beans for €4), so the steak comes to €37. Be sure to ask for the side dish, which is included. A real shame; it was my last time at this establishment.

17/09/2026: Since no one asked me how it was, I'm sharing my experience here. I think the salt shaker accidentally fell into my couscous. Cooking the vegetables a little longer so they were softer would have been a plus, and what I absolutely can't stand is the coriander in the vegetable juices (I thought it was parsley). In short, as you can see, unless they make a serious effort, I think the couscous will be much better elsewhere than in this restaurant...

01/10/2026: Placed an order via Uber. Inedible, 3 items added and 3 missing. It's clearly reheated! First and last time for me!!

28/09/2026: It's lost its appeal. My daughter asked for cheese sauce, and they gave her pepper sauce. Now I go near the swing bridge; there's a waiter and a cook, and the service is much better. It's cheaper. Pacha is finished. You have to wonder where the meat is. They don't wash their hands. The food is disgusting (Taste the Best). I recommend going to the place mentioned above, Quai Alexandre III. If my daughter gets sick, I'll send him the bill. The worst part is that they insisted I ask for pepper sauce, even though we don't eat spicy food at home for health reasons.

29/05/2026: Visited for breakfast, was tasty but portions were very small. Had eggs with bacon, was a tiny amount of bacon and 3 small pieces of baguette. Had to visit a bakery afterwards.

23/08/2026: A disappointing experience due to a lack of transparency on the menu. The beer advertised as "bottled" was served in a can. Furthermore, there was no indication that the daily menu was limited to two courses, even though three choices were presented. These inaccuracies spoiled the meal, which is a real shame. What the regulations say in France: Beverages: The decree of March 27, 1987, concerning price displays in restaurants, requires that the exact volume and packaging of beverages be stated. Serving a can instead of the advertised bottle constitutes misleading information. Set menus: The exact composition of set menus (starter/main course or main course/dessert) must be clearly indicated to the customer before ordering.

06/09/2026: Blonde beer is 5 quid which is good value for round here I’d say. Wouldn’t bother with the Guinness. Very helpful staff who were willing to try and get Katie Taylor fight on the TV despite the difficulty. Very generous to try and accommodate. Good TVs. Darts as well. You can try play the bar man for money and he’s no great shake. Nothing else to be doing in Cherbourg anyway.

31/07/2026: As a top-tier Google Guide, I highly recommend this place – it's a brilliant spot on the Cherbourg gastronomic map! We arrived here, exhausted after a long drive, just before closing, around 9:00 PM, and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was exceptionally tasty, hot, and above all, perfectly fresh, which is not at all typical for buffets at this time of day. The salmon deserves a special mention – it was prepared perfectly, melting in your mouth. The sweets and desserts section also maintains a very high standard. The overall value for money was excellent – ​​a full set and an excellent selection of dishes for around 20 euros per person. The only minor downside was the Chinese beer, which wasn't quite to my taste, but the rest of the food completely compensated for that. Clean, efficient, and very tasty. Definitely worth stopping in for a hearty meal!
