07/02/2026: The taco itself is okay, but the experience is ruined by the complete lack of sauce inside. It's far too dry without it. Please remember to include sauces in the tacos; it's essential! What a shame.

It's the perfect place to enjoy an excellent anchovy pizza.

My partner and I decided to try these famous pizzas!
However, the experience was disastrous.
We came specifically for the pizzas, but the menu requires us to order other dishes. We didn't have the option of just ordering one pizza for two people. The minimum order at Etienne's is one pizza for three people; otherwise, they force you to order other dishes (unheard of!). So, we ordered one pizza for three people, worried about wasting food.
The restaurant is noisy, the tables are very close together, and the tables are bumped every time the servers pass by. The staff shout to communicate with each other. The pizza arrived, and I was very surprised by the size. My partner and I each got two slices. I don't understand why they call it a pizza for three when there are four slices, and they're very small.
After the pizza, the server gave us the menu and asked us to order other dishes.
I was craving apple pie, but the waiter was so pushy that it completely killed my appetite.
We ordered dessert anyway, and immediately afterward, the bill arrived and we were asked to pay.
In this restaurant, where only cash is accepted, you have to spend a reasonable amount, otherwise you're kicked out. The customer experience was disastrous, which is a shame because the pizza itself was good.

09/04/2026: The staff, or at least one very unpleasant woman, was awful. I went into the bar to meet some friends. She didn't even say hello or anything; she just kicked me out rudely, yelling at me and saying, "But pizzas aren't served here." Okay, maybe we're not allowed to bring our own food because you cook, but I don't know. You could at least have said hello, greeted me properly, and said, "Sorry, we can't allow people with food. Why don't you cook for us?" instead of kicking me out in front of a full bar. I strongly advise against going there if you're not good at communication; you shouldn't be in a profession where you have to welcome people.
24/03/2026: Delicious food, excellent selection of organic, local, and other wines. Highly recommended.

17/05/2026: For a family birthday celebration, the service was chaotic and out of sync. The waiter showed no anticipation whatsoever. The aperitifs arrived 30 minutes after we ordered, the wine was served 15 minutes before the main courses, the bread 10 minutes after the appetizers, a second carafe of wine arrived only when we were almost finished, the coffee 20 minutes after we requested it, and so on. The food itself wasn't extraordinary, but it was acceptable. However, the disorganized service completely ruined it. We wanted our glasses to be kept full and to have something to eat at the same time, but it just didn't work. Too bad for us and for them—a first and probably a last time!
10/05/2026: Never disappointed for years, correct service and welcome, for an unrivaled quality price, as soon as the weather is nice it is advisable to book...

11/05/2026: A wonderful discovery! The restaurant is ideally located with a superb view of Notre-Dame de la Garde. The dishes were generous, well-prepared, and the atmosphere very friendly. The service was welcoming, and the setting is typically Marseilles, perfect for spending quality time with friends or family. I highly recommend this place!
11/05/2026: I do not recommend this place; don't waste your time or money.
The seafood was good, however, the service and customer treatment left much to be desired:
- The person who served us was very unpleasant. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but that's not our problem. We repeatedly asked for water and bread, but were never served.
- The person who served us gave the impression that we were bothering her by being customers.
- There were six of us: the orders arrived mixed up on several trays, making it impossible to find anything. When we asked for clarification, we were told it was up to us to know.
- The icing on the cake: the fishmonger smoking a cigarette at the bar at the end of service, filling the entire dining room with smoke.
We came on Saturday, May 2nd at 8:30 pm.
I am extremely surprised, especially since this establishment had been recommended to us.

26/04/2026: Discovered during an afternoon snack. The back garden under the pergola is lovely; you can't hear the city there, only birdsong. I recommend the butter and sugar crepes—delicious!

09/07/2025: Friendly waitress but cold mussels (3 out of 5 dishes), hamburger without cheese (the first time I've seen that), and on top of that, 3 fries that are chasing each other for a €23 burger.
This restaurant has changed a lot; we used to go there every year, but now we'll change.
08/07/2025: We took the bouillabaisse for 40 euros a portion - it was enough for two, croutons and garlic sauce are added to the dish. It was my first time eating it, so there's nothing to compare it to, but it's not bad.
