09/05/2026: We placed an Uber Eats order and asked one of the employees for advice, and she lied to us, telling us our order would arrive in 10 minutes. The order never arrived. It's despicable to lie to customers just because you're having a tough time at work and it's frustrating. Completely unprofessional.
05/05/2026: Disappointed with the quality since the restaurant moved to Place Saint Jacques. The portions (especially takeout) are smaller, the ingredients are of lower quality and less well prepared, not to mention the order errors.
The staff is okay, although they seem a bit unkempt in appearance and attitude.

15/10/2025: Every visit here is a delightful experience. All the Chinese food is fantastic. It's a restaurant where you only need to think about what to eat, without worrying about whether it's good or not!
All the dishes I've tried so far have been delicious. The chicken, beef, and even the vegetarian options are all excellent! I especially love their shrimp dumplings!
Considering the price and food quality, it's the best choice.
All the staff are incredibly friendly, making for a very comfortable dining experience!
Personally, I feel it's far superior to similar restaurants in Paris, both in terms of food quality and hygiene.
This restaurant has become a must-visit every time I'm at Metz since I first discovered it, and it's the only place I want to eat at Metz.

28/05/2026: I came to this tea room with my son to sit on the small terrace. There were two free tables: one with a "reserved" sign and another without any reservation card. My son sat down at the latter while I waited in line to order. A saleswoman, or perhaps the owner, gestured to my son from inside the bakery to get up, even though there was no "reserved" sign on the table. Normally, she could have simply told us politely that the table was reserved, but waving her hand as if to "shoo" my son away was unacceptable.
Furthermore, the only response we received was that "since there are place settings on the table, it's reserved." In that case, it would mean that in all restaurants, as soon as there are place settings, everything is reserved... Perhaps you should consider your logic. The only normal way to indicate a reserved table is with a "reserved" sign placed on it, period.
05/05/2026: The manager is very haughty with people who don't look European… it's a shame because the products are good quality and the employee is friendly to all customers.

22/02/2026: Best salmon pizza in Metz, a real treat!
08/02/2026: This establishment has completely fallen from grace. The restaurant is now a mere shadow of its former self. While the menu on Instagram might still inspire envy, the reality is quite different once you sit down: a simple chalkboard with pizzas and only three pasta dishes. Add to that mediocre, unfriendly, even icy service, and you have a very disappointing experience. It's a far cry from what once made this place so charming.

29/11/2025: We were so looking forward to visiting this unique place; we'd only heard good things. So we took the trouble to book six days in advance, and what a surprise it was when, on that fateful Saturday evening, the day of our reservation, we found the doors locked. There was no note of apology on the door and no phone call to inform customers of the reservation (because, as professionals, we record the customer's phone number when taking the order). So we drove 70km for nothing. Thanks a lot, Jeep, we won't be back.
06/11/2025: We've been here several times and are always warmly welcomed and well served, especially by the hostess who is very pleasant and offers great advice. The menu is varied, blending traditional and exotic cuisine in a very pleasant jungle/lounge atmosphere. A sure bet when you want to relax in peace and treat yourself, even if it means having a proper communion meal ;)

24/04/2026: The smoothies are pretty good, but please use organic fruit. The price isn't significantly higher, and the benefits are substantial.
23/03/2026: I go there from time to time, but I find it quite expensive and the taste isn't exceptional either. (I'm referring to the pasta/gnocchi, at least, since I've never tried the other dishes/drinks they offer.)

It's still just as good in every way.
Hurry up and go, the pizza chef is retiring soon!!

It's a surprise… you don't know the price of what you're going to eat!
We sit down… They bring us rice with half a sausage and a small piece of chicken
(What is this? The starter? The main course? The side dish?)
They don't explain anything,
Then comes the meat (I must say it was excellent) with unlimited fries
But I've barely finished my piece of meat… The waitress brings dessert…
Still no choice
It's lukewarm pineapple
And that's the end of the meal
For €45 per person!!!!! No atmosphere, unpleasant waitress
Who's in a hurry to finish her shift
In short, I don't recommend it

08/03/2026: I got sick after eating the meat and waiting 35 minutes for my main course. At the end, we were told we couldn't pay by card. In short, I won't be going back.
01/03/2026: What a disaster! It started right from the beginning… we ordered Moselle wine from the menu as an aperitif, and the waitress arrived with a Côtes de Gascogne, saying she was substituting it because they didn't have any Moselle wine. We refused and ordered another wine, despite her surprise… The scallop and morel risotto was on the menu. We ordered the dish. The waitress told us there wouldn't be scallops and morels with it, but prawns, because they couldn't afford to buy scallops and morels… An hour and a half later, the dish arrived, and we were told it was taking a long time because we hadn't ordered a starter…
The dish was good, but nothing special.
The service was catastrophic; the waitress didn't understand any of our requests.
When it came time for dessert, we decided to refuse and give up. Oh well, so much for dessert.
Why does the chef employ such unqualified staff in the dining room?
And what about the dining room… the tables are chipped, the baseboards are falling off…
And the final nail in the coffin… “Our card machine isn’t working, you have to pay in cash.” I won’t even mention that the cashier didn’t know how to do the bill and, more importantly, was just guessing at the prices. She didn’t have any change, she was just bartering.
It was like something out of a comedy sketch 😂 and the other customers felt the same way.

I've always been a customer, but these days the individual pastries are really small, yet the prices are quite high.
The marshmallows are definitely not worth the price.

If you are Vietnamese and looking for Vietnamese food, you should consider ordering something else.

I waited 45 minutes for my order, even though the line of cars ahead wasn't very long… the service was poor, and the wait was abnormally long for a fast-food restaurant! I won't be going back to this place… even though the young man preparing and delivering the orders seemed to be trying his best…
19/05/2026: Fast and efficient service. I never run out of sauce or a napkin, and the burgers are well made.

21/12/2025: Good service. However, the toilets need improvement: the toilet door is broken, and you have to walk alongside a urinal (very little space against the wall) to access the men's toilet.
27/11/2025: I almost never leave long reviews, but my experience at Bar Saint-Jacques deserves to be shared because it's riddled with so many problems that I struggle to understand how an establishment can operate this way. We've all had a bad night out at a bar: slow service, inattention, a small mistake… these things happen. But what's striking here is that it wasn't an accident. It's a general atmosphere, a way of doing things, a kind of ingrained habit. From the very first minutes, I felt like I was bothering them simply by asking for something. Not a glance, not a "I'll be right back," not a smile. You end up waiting, standing for ages, while some people behind the bar chat amongst themselves, attend to other matters, or walk right past customers as if you don't exist. The service is sorely lacking in respect and, above all, professionalism.
But what's most shocking isn't even that. It's complete disorganization. Nothing seems clear, nothing seems organized. Orders are forgotten, mixed up, half-finished, or completely lost. The customers look at each other with the same astonished expression, as if everyone is silently wondering, "Is this normal?" And unfortunately, the more time passes, the more you realize that yes, it is.
And then there's something even more disturbing. Observing what's happening behind the bar, you see a tall, bald man with broad shoulders making gestures and behaving in ways that a customer should never see in a reputable establishment. Strange manipulations, picking up and putting down objects that seem inconsistent, practices that clearly raise questions. I accuse this establishment of engaging in deceptive financial practices (no pun intended). I'm reporting what I saw, and I wasn't the only one who noticed.
And these behaviors ALWAYS come from the same person: tall, imposing, instantly recognizable, whose general demeanor puts neither the customers nor the atmosphere at ease. You find yourself observing things you shouldn't see and wondering how management can let this happen.
The overall atmosphere is heavy, tense, almost oppressive. You don't feel welcome or comfortable. And when you add to that questionable hygiene details—glasses not always spotless, a sticky bar, visibly neglected areas—you finally understand that the problem isn't a one-off, but stems from a complete lack of overall management.
What makes all this even more unfortunate is that this bar could be excellent. It has a good location, a nice terrace, and potential. But the lack of discipline, the attitude of some staff members, the astonishing behavior observed behind the bar, and the total absence of consistency in the service ruin everything. You leave with a feeling of unease and, above all, a question: how is it possible that no one in charge sees what's happening right in front of them?
I don't expect perfect service, just a minimum of professionalism, respect for customers, and serious management. I sincerely hope that management will take the time to get this establishment back on track, because right now, it's one of the most disappointing bars I've been to in Metz. And it's really time someone opened their eyes.
