02/01/2026: Very, very disappointed with New Year's Eve at the Channel.
The atmosphere was very strange, the music was so-so, and the food was inedible. €14 for adults, €8 for children, but the plates remained untouched because they were cold, unsightly, and disgusting... pffffff. The result: a ruined New Year's Eve.
It's a shame I can't upload photos of the plates.
26/12/2025: We booked a caterer for Christmas. Everything was perfect! The email exchanges, the welcome, and the superb quality of the service were all excellent. It was a fantastic discovery for us. Everything was very well prepared, delicious, and the portions were just right. We will definitely be back! See you soon.

11/02/2026: My partner and I came to enjoy a delicious couscous in Marrakech.
The restaurant was very immersive, the dishes were succulent with perfectly portioned dishes.

25/01/2026: The waiter was friendly, but the wait was very long. There was no amuse-bouche with the aperitif. The tagine was far too salty. I'm still looking for the pieces of meat on my plate. Four of the picture frames on the wall are crooked—really crooked! The chandeliers on the ceiling are dull and dull. The cutlery (plates and glasses included) is so worn that the patterns are faded, highlighting the rinsing marks and poorly done hand-drying marks. It's incredibly sad to see this restaurant in such a state, despite the waiter's friendliness.

07/01/2026: Dine-in on New Year's Day... The meat was lukewarm, they forgot the vegetables (couscous), so the meat was cold, then they sent back lukewarm meat... They also forgot the drinks.
What a shame.

23/02/2026: Honestly, this is the first time I've ever ordered anything from them, and it will definitely be the last! We ordered waffle fries and crispy chicken, but there was nothing crispy about them; everything was microwaved... Absolutely disgusting! Money down the drain!
21/02/2026: Excellent experience, very welcoming and friendly staff, generous portions, and fast service despite the crowd. No complaints whatsoever. I highly recommend it.

16/11/2025: I'm giving 5 stars because of the warm welcome from the owner and the receptionist, who were both incredibly kind. I visited with my three children, including my daughter who has a disability. It was a pleasant experience, even though it's a place with an 80s feel, as other reviews have mentioned. At least the staff are friendly, and I much prefer that to a luxury establishment with unpleasant staff, especially when you have a child with a disability. I recommend it. Saliha

16/09/2025: 10-12 mins from Calais port. Checkin at 1.30am no problem. The reception was polite and friendly. Room was as expected. Basic, clean and comfortable. Ideal for a stop over after a long drive from the UK. Continental breakfast served from 6am to about 10am was good. Even the cool pancakes were tasty. No cooked breakfast. Free parking available but spaces are limited and some bays are slim. Highly recommend this place for a night stop over.

08/11/2025: I'll be objective: The driest and worst kebab meat I've ever tasted. I didn't try the rest of the menu and I'm not likely to go back. It's up to you. I find frozen supermarket meat much tastier... Luckily, the prices are reasonable. Basically, I threw it all away.

The Bologna and Romana are very nice.
On the other hand, I'm not against dogs in a restaurant, but seeing people petting them not wash their hands before going back behind the bar bothers me.

Tonight we placed an order and ran into a problem: first, after placing our order online, we received a phone call informing us that the card machine in the store wasn't working and that the others were being delivered.
When my son went to pick up the pizzas and paid in cash, one was missing, and we only noticed it when we got home.
He went back to the store, and another employee showed the total of our order on his till, revealing a shortfall of €45 compared to the amount we had paid in cash! They then confirmed that the card machine was working.
We did, however, receive the missing pizza, thankfully.
Very disappointed!
24/10/2025: A real horror! Run away before even entering! Bad reception, no hello, stared at by the waiters, they made us feel like we were in the way. We left before even ordering... I never thought I'd experience this!

12/02/2026: Warm welcome, the mussels and fries and pizzas were good. A pleasant time with the family.
02/01/2026: Looking for a nice little restaurant before heading home, we saw L’Alexandra on New Year’s Eve. It had a simple and inexpensive menu.
We had a lovely time; the food was excellent. Just a minor criticism, and it's more of a personal observation: the chicken escalope with Maroilles cheese could have used a tiny bit more sauce. But it didn't detract from the overall experience. The side dish (gratin dauphinois) was also good.
The mussels and fries were also excellent, and the pizza was generously topped.
The smiling waitress was bustling about, but I think the sudden rush wasn't expected that Friday lunchtime. Good for them, though; I heard quite a few people raving about the presentation and the food.
The restaurant and its surroundings are understated, and the place is clean and well-maintained.
I don't know if they take reservations, but I think it's a good idea to book ahead to get a table.
We're noting the address for when we return to Calais.

02/05/2024: I showed up today, May 2, at the garden center checkout at 5:30 p.m., this Auchan Calais is becoming a real nonsense...... Already the last time I was invited to go to the quick checkout yuck, intervention by the cashiers result double manipulation at 1 p.m., I am told yes but at that time (there is a reboot) 3/4 hours blocked. today the cashier had to prepare a floral arrangement, Ditto..... A queue not possible , customers who ask for a cashier, and people who get angry, and they leave their Cady an impossible tension. I am surprised to see Auchan behave like this. Very sincerely I will think about changing direction regarding this Auchan Calais, anyway today 30 minutes with kilos on my arms (yes I had not planned to buy that much)
I am really disappointed, no respect for the customer

16/09/2024: Our first visit back since Covid-and the same friendly atmosphere combined with excellent cooking continues I am glad to say. It is nicely located on the seafront in Calais adjacent to the ferry harbour. The menus are mainly fresh seafood and their desserts are especially good. The turbot was beautifully cooked and not too dry which is a common mistake.
14/09/2024: Super welcome despite not having booked. Food was superb and as was the service. Cannot recommend highly enough. Very Brit friendly but also full of happy French families.
