Extremely poor quality beer for an excessive price, (meteor beer). The place pretends to be Pseudo punk but place run by dubious people, who think of making money without real value. I don't recommend it if you're looking for an alternative bar in Lyon.
13/12/2024: Very good value for money for a late dinner after a show, a stone's throw from the city hall metro station.

06/12/2025: Misled about the order, not enough sauce, too dry, and with both doors open in the middle of winter, forced to stand waiting for a table because the upstairs area was closed. We went to Smash, which is right across the street.

08/12/2025: First visit on a Thursday in the early evening. The bar is slightly out of the way compared to the others. There was a dance class going on. The dance instructor was great! Her explanations were very clear. However, apart from the class participants, there was nobody else there. I don't know if it's usually like that. I'll have to go back to see for myself. :b

18/01/2025: We had a great time at this pizzeria. The welcome was really friendly, the service fast and efficient. The dishes were all as tasty as each other, especially the pasta and the pizza. The pizza maker's show was very popular, it's a change from the ordinary! And the cherry on the cake, the prices are very reasonable. Don't hesitate to go there, you won't be disappointed!
14/01/2025: I saw the ad on Instagram, It was the duck breast that convinced me to come here as a halal option…. The duck breast was just incredible, Very good atmosphere, the dish was delicious… The desserts, I have nothing to say, were impeccable. Next time I will try their pizza.

27/06/2025: Homophobic attack by a bar owner.
Last night, some friends and I went to the Shamrock for a drink. Looking for some fresh air to smoke a cigarette, one of them went out for a breath of fresh air with his freshly poured beer in hand. The security guard asked him not to venture too far to prevent him from stealing or damaging the bar's glass. So far, no problems, it's normal. But suddenly, what we guessed was one of the bar owners appeared, because only those kinds of people would have such nerve. He grabbed my friend by the arm and ordered him to leave immediately, without a hello, a please, and in a threatening tone. We had just met the pelvic slut, eh? Shocked, my friend asked him to be polite, and the man simply kicked him out of the bar, even though he hadn't even had a chance to take a sip of his beer. Surprisingly, no problem for us, who, unlike my friend, did not have makeup.

15/09/2024: A super pleasant and friendly experience!! I rarely feel like I'm really being considered when I come to have a drink in good company in a place like a bar, but the Café du Gros Caillou has changed that! Helena and Vincent (the bartender) gave me a pleasant evening, are very efficient and professional with very good customer contact and make me want to come back to this friendly, well-located and warm place. I highly recommend it!

Petite incompréhension sur le service mais les choses ont été rattrapées haut la main par l amabilité et le professionnalisme du patron et des serveurs. Un lieu agréable à vivre absolument. À bientôt. Nous reviendrons sans hésitation.

05/09/2024: The bouncer didn't let us in because I had a glass of water in my hand. I could have left it aside unfortunately it cheated us for no reason. I took this as a sign of denial even though I was trying to arrive as clean as possible at his establishment. After several attempts at explanations he simply told me that it was cultural and automatic on his part and that we would not fit in all cases?? . He closed the door in our faces several times, of course he was doing his job but when it came to providing an explanation simplicity was required, even when we expressed our wish to just discuss to understand his reaction without having the He hoped to return, he didn't answer us. Our evening in the city including the trip was ruined by this member of security, I really do not recommend this club, moreover having been there several times before, the drinks are as expensive as in a nightclub for a totally derisory service.
A woman working in this club tried to make him listen to reason by telling him to let me in because I had done nothing wrong, but she was pushed by this gentleman 3 times with the response "but what is what you do, let me do my job"...
I felt obligated to leave a comment given the situation.

I have never seen such a scandalous bar, especially when the owner in no way respects the standards of politeness and respect in 2024!
I advise against it! No atmosphere, sporty playlist, no DJ, misogynistic on the part of the boss who only thinks about banging women without listening to his customers! But get out of there and close as quickly as possible!
