29/09/2025: Ideally located for exploring Châtellerault, La Gourmandine Hotel is a haven of peace. It's a beautiful place to stay, peaceful and in a unique setting. A special mention goes to the breakfast. A small drawback: a kettle in the room would be welcome, either for early morning breakfasts or evening herbal teas.

11/07/2026: Honestly, it's a great place. The service is absolutely perfect. We had the lunch special for €13.80 and, frankly, the value for money is unbeatable, because what you eat is truly delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection, the fries were excellent and homemade. For dessert, the profiteroles were really good. They even serve a speculoos biscuit with the coffee. Honestly, I can't find a single fault with this restaurant.

They're as visually appealing as they are delicious, the welcome is warm, the service is quick, and above all, the ingredients are fresh and the price is very attractive. 26/04/2026: We were greeted by a very friendly waitress. There were two of us, and we each ordered a drink. After a while, our drinks were taken away as soon as we finished them. The waiter asked us if we wanted another drink, and then we were asked to leave to free up the table. How shameful! I've never seen anything like it... They'll never see me again, not even for a drink, not even for a meal. I do not recommend this place.

09/04/2026: The food and ambiance are both excellent. Usually, kids' meals are just made haphazardly, but this restaurant is different; they put care into the preparation. My daughter has already eaten two; the beef and fries are delicious! The foie gras is superb, and the fish is also very tasty! Highly recommended!

23/08/2025: A wonderful surprise! We celebrated our two daughters' baptisms in June, and everything went perfectly. Excellent value for money, a delicious meal, and a fantastic team! We highly recommend it.

03/05/2026: A lovely little restaurant. Reservations are required in advance, and they accept dogs on the terrace. As the weather was improving, we were kindly offered a table inside, alone in a small room. A very thoughtful gesture indeed. The service was a bit slow for the main courses. I recommend the Chauvinois burger and the half duck breast. However, the beef dish was rather bland; tasty but lacking in sauce.

14/04/2026: Lunch on the way back from vacation, so unplanned... no problem finding something to eat. Excellent restaurant. Welcoming. Offers set menus at lunchtime on weekdays.

03/07/2026: We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. The meal was perfect, and the dessert was superb (the apricot crumble was a delight). The service was impeccable, with a fantastic waiter. The owners of the inn were very welcoming. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I tried different dishes each time and was never disappointed. A great place for meals under €20. I'd love to come back under different circumstances 😀

08/06/2026: Unpleasant staff, laughing in customers' faces. The food was served cold, and when we asked for it to be reheated, they told us we could have eaten it, it was lukewarm. Furthermore, when you order something in quantity, be careful. I ordered 10 churros for €5.95, but I was only served 8. When we went back for an explanation, the staff laughed and mocked us, saying that meant 2 less... As for the furniture: torn, sticky, and greasy banquettes, sticky and greasy floor, damaged and mostly dirty tables, dirty windows with greasy fingerprints, and flies will be a constant presence during your meal... Regular cleaning is essential. I definitely do not recommend this place.

10/06/2026: I came to the area for work and stumbled upon this hotel-restaurant by chance, and frankly, I'm thrilled! The food is excellent, the rooms are fantastic and spotless, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be back next year.
