If it's still available, on Mondays there's a buy-one-get-one-free burger, which might be a good idea for students.
However, it's quite busy, so orders take a while to arrive.

We ate well. Very good service.

The restaurant was almost full.
17/07/2026: Avoid at all costs. Passing by the restaurant on a weekday at lunchtime, I was tempted by the attractive €15 set menu (starter, main course, dessert).
1) Onion tart with crudités as a starter: nothing to complain about, simple and effective, the bread was very good.
2) Chicken tagine with zucchini, olives, and basmati rice: it lacked spices, but the meat was tender and delicious, simple and effective.
3) Strawberry mousse for dessert: and that was a disaster. Gelatinous mousse, neon pink and very sweet. Pieces of candied fruit, also neon-colored. Whipped cream and topping too sweet. Not a single strawberry in this dessert.
I mentioned that I couldn't eat the dessert because it was likely mass-produced and too sweet.
The first waiter (young) immediately confirmed that it wasn't homemade and was entirely mass-produced.
The second waiter (more experienced) brought me the bill. I reiterated my disappointment with the dessert, hoping not to have to pay for it. The rest of the conversation was ludicrous:
"The dessert is homemade, my colleague lied."
"No, correction, my colleague was mistaken. The cream is homemade. The topping, candied fruit, and whipped cream are not."
"You won't find a menu at this price anywhere around here."
"I can bring the chef over so he can confirm it's homemade."
"I'm just a worker. Don't look down on the profession."
I remained calm and simply wanted to make it clear that it was a shame because the rest of the meal was fine and the service was quick and friendly (at first).
Respect should go both ways. A low price doesn't excuse treating customers like idiots. Keep it simple, yes, but with good taste, or stick to tried-and-true favorites.
The moral of the story: no professionalism, no gesture of goodwill, no willingness to improve, especially considering the previous reviews.

The service isn't pleasant. You order a mixed burger and you only get one meat out of two, and you're not even told. The patio floor is dirty and the tables are only half cleaned.
In short, go to the McDonald's next door, it's better lol

08/07/2026: My drink was missing from the tray. I went to the employee who asked, "Are you sure?" I was so surprised to hear that! I invited him to check for himself, and he confirmed that the tray was supposed to contain five items but only had four! In short, not to mention the cleanliness of the place... it's not what it used to be! I'm disappointed!

22/06/2026: Good location, good food, I tried their Lebanese platter and it was a pleasant surprise, great team, if you go don't hesitate to ask for the manager Adem, he took care of us and it was perfect.
09/06/2026: Frankly, I was very disappointed with the mojito I ordered. It was completely lacking in freshness and the flavor wasn't balanced at all. It seemed like it had been prepared quickly, without any particular care. For the price I paid, I expected something much better.
It's a shame because a mojito is actually a fairly simple drink to make. Unfortunately, this one fell far short of my expectations. I don't think I'll order it again on my next visit, and I hope the quality of the drinks will improve in the future.

08/06/2026: I've lived in the village for five years and I'd never tried the pizzas, what a mistake! The oriental pizza I just had was absolutely delicious, perfect! You can tell the dough is homemade; I never usually eat the crust, but this time I ate it all! 🤭
19/02/2026: As a Turk, I know the taste of real Turkish tea well.
Unfortunately, this one wasn't strong enough and clearly lacked intensity. It tasted salty, which completely ruined the character one expects from a good Turkish tea.

03/07/2025: A terrace that's a victim of its own success and its location in the heart of the tourist city. Always full (a testament to its quality), you don't have to wait long for a table to become available. The drinks menu is varied, and the appetizer platter is just right in terms of quantity but superior in terms of quality. A great place to stop for a break during your city tour.

02/07/2026: “It’s not the fall that matters, it’s the landing.” La Haine (1995) – Mathieu Kassovitz. That’s how to describe the atmosphere in one quote.
I arrived to celebrate and lose myself with my friends. From the moment we walked in, I was struck by how awful the music was. Just unfamiliar sounds that created absolutely no atmosphere. We had to wait about an hour and a half for anything to get even remotely lively.
The DJ, for his part, was clearly a high school intern, meaning he was deaf and, more importantly, blind, and completely oblivious to the lack of atmosphere. The drops, meanwhile, reminded me of my lessons on the 1929 economic crisis. Just when we were starting to get into the groove, the music shifted to styles more diametrically opposed to those of the Cold War, or even World War II.
The football match we were watching on one of the TVs was far more entertaining than the dancing. We should also mention the bouncers who wouldn't let us go outside for fresh air and, more importantly, to give our eardrums a break. The sound system never changed: it sounded like a fire alarm.
In short, the place has all the potential to become an excellent party venue (decent speakers with good bass, interesting decor, good lighting, etc.), but it's not being used to its full potential. And that's a real shame…
02/07/2026: My first visit to La Salamandre, we were warmly welcomed by Momo and Walid, the place is nice and the music is good! I recommend it, long live Strasbourg!

29/08/2025: We came for lunch with our family, were seated, and asked to change tables because we were sitting in a draft and noticed it was bothersome. The woman who was serving us looked everywhere to find us a table as if it were crowded, even though there were only two other customers in the entire restaurant.
Once seated, the knives were disgusting—dirty, not just dirty—and the glasses were the same, covered in fingerprints.
We asked for a carafe of water, and again, we received a look that spoke volumes. For our meal, we specifically requested an Alsatian salad without Gruyère cheese, but it was brought to us with Gruyère (defrosted). The other salads had such strong dressing that with each bite, it felt like eating sour candy. For the price we paid, I find what we got on our plates shameful. Once we were served, the same woman sat down at a table to roll a cigarette. Everyone is free to do as they please, but I didn't think it was a good idea.
In short, a very bad experience, a place I would never recommend.

08/06/2026: The staff was incredibly slow, the crepe was disgustingly thick and raw. I don't recommend it; it's disgusting fake Nutella. The crepe felt like a pillow and turned into a buttery paste in your mouth. 25 minutes for 4 crepes, and to add a little Nutella on top, it was €1! LOL

22/09/2024: Would not recommend most of the seats are taken, but they are plenty of more which could be activated but they tell you no they won’t do this. You can’t sit there quite rude.
