21/09/2024: We toured France, from Bordeaux to Poitiers, to Angers and a few days in St. Malo. We had lunch at the Cafe Brocante on the corner of Rue Andre Desilles and it was, without doubt, the best lunch we had in our two week tour. The proprietor speaks fluent English and takes great care to ensure that you chose the right meals from his menu. And, it is very reasonably priced.

26/09/2024: We chances our arm for dinner at Le Genty Home and boy, were we glad we did! It’s a gorgeous setting with plenty of space between tables and a lovely, welcoming host, Chantal. The ambience was great, and then came the food which was superb! We went for the Chef’s Menu, and each dish was a delight. From the white fish starter, to the beautifully cooked veal, and accompanying veg, to the featherlight dessert of puff pastry, vanilla cream and mirabelles. At a cost of €36 a head, this was truly outstanding value. Chantal also recommended a pinot noir which went with the fish and the veal, so if you’re unsure of your wine selection, make sure to seek her advice! I’d absolutely recommend Le Genty Home, so much so, we’re going to try and get back in before heading home to Ireland.

03/09/2024: We had dinner at Le Bistro Volney last Sunday, it was very busy, the food was excellent and there was plenty of wine to choose from. The Maitre d has very good English and could explain the menue. I was feeling very hot during the meal and they were able to move us to a table by the entrance. If you go on a Sunday I'd recommend booking in advance.

17/09/2024: We chose this restaurant because we always prefer to try out the local cuisine. We didn't have a reservation, so we tried our luck and waited just before they opened. The owner welcomed us in despite not having a reservation on a Saturday evening and let us choose any table. As soon as we sat down he was extremely friendly and gave us time to look at the menu. I have to say this was probably the nicest experience we've ever had in terms of service. He first asked what we would like to eat, so that he could pair the perfect wine for the meal. I have to admit I'm not an expert when it comes to wine, but he was so engaging he has given me the confidence to try more styles, especially when it comes to red wine. We went for the pate with crusty bread as a starter and that proved delicious. Our mains which was steak and chips turned out full of flavour and as dessert we went for the classic apple tart and coffee. All in all the staff were fantastic and we never felt rushed or ignored and everything about the place highlights why it's so nice to eat out on the continent. Merci Beaucoup Le Millesime!

06/09/2024: Très belle carte des vins. La proposition est généreuse et la personne au service est connaisseur. Service un petit long mais il était seul ce qui peut s’expliquer. Décor sympathique, peu de place à l’intérieur. Réservation conseiller. attention cependant en ce faisant plaisir la note peut vite montée. Et petit bémol tout de même à la qualité des pièces de viande légèrement déçu par l’entrecôte. À reconfirmer lors d’une prochaine visite.

17/10/2024: An address not to be missed… The refined cuisine full of flavors, the attentive and warm service, the incredible setting with a terrace and magnificent furniture. Thank you, we will come back again and again because it’s a real discovery each time 🤩

01/10/2024: Pleasant creperie and very friendly staff. Parking for parking. The pancakes are good but nothing more. I have made many creperies in Brittany and I cannot say that these are among the best. The prices are correct.

30/09/2024: Perfect on every level!!!! Whether from the reception on the phone to reservation, during our meal, the variety on the menu and the quality and quantity, there is nothing to say. The manager and the waitress are smiling and very pleasant. Although the restaurant was full, the manager took the time to tell us about certain products such as buckwheat cream and goat cheese ice cream, very nice discoveries!! We were delighted with our meal at this establishment for our weekend. We will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

07/09/2024: Very nice employees, the Tap water is free, food looks delicious and it tastes great. The ambiance is cool.

04/09/2024: The girls working are very nice, those who leave comments criticizing them, I don't know what problem they have, there is a very large sign that says to order at the counter

24/11/2024: Great, very original establishment. We feel very good there and the Irish Coffee is great. A must in Saint Malo for those who love the pub atmosphere.

15/11/2024: Everything you want from an Irish pub! The floor is super nice to hang out on. The servers are always pleasant!

29/08/2024: Delicious cuisine: each dish is refined, with respect for the product! All this in an authentic setting, and very affordable prices for the quality! The restaurant has a magnificent terrace with different levels where you can enjoy the sun in an intimate corner or in a large group with loved ones!

24/11/2024: A very nice discovery! The dishes were delicious, the service warm and attentive and the setting really pleasant. We feel that everything is done with care. An address to recommend.

23/09/2024: Hervorragend gegessen bei perfektem Service. Das Lokal ist sehr gemütlich, die Speisekarte vielfältig, und alles schlicht hervorragend. Reservation unerlässlich, vor allem da Fans der Kommissar Lupin Romane gerne dort einkehren.

16/09/2024: Bel endroit pour un repas gustatif. Le restaurant ne paie pas de mine à l'exterieur mais à l'interieur c'est une belle surprise!!! L'accueil y est sympathique et les plats délicieux, savoureux. Nous y reviendrons.

27/09/2024: Excellent food and lovely service. Menu comprises of 3 options per course, the seafood (squid and fish) were very fresh and cooked really well. The sauces accompanying each dishwere perfect. Chocolate mousse dessert was delicious and not too sweet. I would recommend reserving a place in advance.

31/08/2024: We had the salmon pasta and we were very disappointed. The pasta was soaked in the sauce without much taste, not salty and especially the salmon was non-existent. We therefore do not recommend this dish in this restaurant. Otherwise the restaurant is nice as are the servers.

04/08/2024: Fabulous location on Place St German. Adjacent to secure bike rack. Unassuming appearance, but delicious food. Generous servings. Perfectly dressed salad.
